Jozzy4:Hahahaha. They are na ![]() Apostle Paul also mentioned of the gifts he received. In fact, once he talked about stopping them from giving but realized it was wrong. In Philippians 4:19 when he prayed the prayer of my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory, check what led to that prayer we call claim today. Read earlier verses to find out. I am tempted to go deep and take you through the new testament because I know you may want to say Malachi is in the old testament book and all but I'm having a tight schedule today. I hope sha that you understand this little explanation. Apostle Paul was a church planter but he was no Pastor. |

Stupedinluv:The religion of Muafrika2 and Jacksonville is gradually losing its grip on people, yet year 2625AD is still very far away. By then, it's only through microscope that an observer will see the remnants of Christians. Jozzy4:Mmmhh... Now do you see why people who complain about men of God living large have no case? Because apparently, Paul had more than enough to live large. Also, Apostle Paul of course never collected tithes because of his ministry as an apostle. He didn't shepherd a flock, therefore there was no case for him to receive somebody's 10% and be sentimental about it cos he was not presiding over any storehouse. |

amicable09:Peter Shepherd the flock, where do you read that he collect tithe ? |

kolaish:I always tell my friends, what you can't find in one Church, you will definitely not find in another Church. Churches, especially the Nigerian types, exist for the same reasons. Once you begin to see through the mirage in one Church, it means that the rational part of your brain is agitating for freedom and sovereignty. |

In order for a Christian to give a biblical tithe today, that Christian would have to: a) be a physical descendant of Jacob. (Leviticus 27:34; Psalms 147:19-20) b) be given a portion of the Promised Land by God. (Genesis 28:13-15) c) move into the Promised Land (Deuteronomy 6:1-3; 12:1,10-11) d) raise crops or breed livestock on that portion of the Promised Land (Leviticus 27:30-33) e) take a tenth part of the crops raised, and/or every tenth animal of the livestock to pass under a rod to a physical descendant of Levi in the farming communities (Numbers 18:24-26; Nehemiah 10:37-38) f) be unfaithful to Christ (Romans 7:3-4) An attempt to tithe by any other means in any other geographic location is in direct contradiction to God’s word, and would not be a biblical tithe. Monetary tithes exist in the Church today because of lies in the pulpits and ignorance in the pews.

rosalieene:MOST? You are not mentally sound. You notice that some chosen members are 'poor'. But you failed to notice how many poor people have been made rich by coming to The Lord's Chosen. Seriously you are blind. because if you weren't you'd notice that there are many rich people in my Church. Thanks for advertising your ignorance may God indeed forgive you and your subscribers. |

| Re: I Am Just Tired Of The Nigerian Church by Scream(m): 12:09pm On Sep 11, 2016 |
polymathic:Bro, you are very wrong in almost all the points you raised. The first church was not built on tithing... imagine Apostle Peter telling Jewish converts to bring to the, the Bible would have recorded the reaction! Meanwhile, we have Kingdom Halls all over the country, they give out free copies of Awake year in, year out! Yet, those that "know the truth" sell everything, engage in different businesses (even those they received freely) using the children of God as their market. Stop lying to yourself...God will provide! |
| Re: I Am Just Tired Of The Nigerian Church by amicable09(f): 12:40pm On Sep 11, 2016 |
Jozzy4:Alright. Happy Sunday first. Let's talk about Peter and Tithing. Acts of the Apostles will help us understand this very well. Peter was an apostle but Christ left him a command to feed his sheep. Peter was the rock on which the church was built. Even though the church then was not denominational and as such we cannot say what the name of the church he founded was, we can see some things that happened in the church. Acts 4, the later part of it talked about the unity of the early church and how they sold their possessions and broke bread even to the point of having everything in common. Verse 5 gives us the account of Ananias and his wife, who sold their possessions and kept part of the money only to come and lie to Peter and of course you know what happened to them. Death. Go to verse 6, when Stephen and six others were appointed to be in charge of serving tables when widows and the fatherless began to murmur about the poor service they were getting. What does this tell you? How were they coming about the things they had in the storehouse to share? Let's move to Hebrews. Chapter 7 talked about Abraham tithing even before Aaron the priest came to the picture. Before Leviticus, a man Abraham tithed to Melchizedek, a priest. This priest can be compared to Jesus. Therefore, it wasn't an old testament thing, believers today are still expected to pay their tithes to Jesus, our great high priest. |

amicable09:Good afternoon. actually the reason I sighted peter was because you keep saying Shepherding the flock guarantee collections of tithe and nowhere did we found Peter who is also a Shepherd collecting tithe . NOWHERE! Acts 4, the later part of it talked about the unity of the early church and how they sold their possessions and broke bread even to the point of having everything in common.good of you sister, You are very good in summary . see the way you summarise the chapters . nice one but in answer to your question @ bold , Act 4:34,35 answers that saying those who have properties sell their properties and share the money with others who don't have much . they exhibit a cheerful giver spirit NOT by tithing. Let's move to Hebrews. Chapter 7 talked about Abraham tithing even before Aaron the priest came to the picture. Before Leviticus, a man Abraham tithed to Melchizedek, a priest. This priest can be compared to Jesus. Therefore, it wasn't an old testament thing, believers today are still expected to pay their tithes to Jesus, our great high priest.@ bold , so the Naija pastors = Jesus Christ ? you are funnybesides , Abraham tithed spoils of war NOT money and it was found ONCE to Melchizedek not weekly and monthly as practiced today . it still boils down to the fact that tithing was not found in the midst of the first century Christians instead cheerful giving or voluntary donations was encouraged . |

polymathic:Sir, I am not a JW, I do not know but I know that they are more involved in evangelism than us(even though they do not have private jets), there are their buildings everywhere and THEY DO NOT COLLECT TITHE... There is something they are doing right that we need to learn from them bro. Meanwhile, I do not think God is interested in the Castles being erected everywhere in His name...He is interested in the hearts of those that worship in those places. Also, let is not overburden our people with Laws that even the Jews couldn't keep...if you want us to go to the scriptures so that we can sharpen each other, I'm around. Shallom |

polymathic:which kingdom halls again o Cant we have church anywhere? like in a member's house. Must we build a hall? Even if we must have a place to gather, we can still all contribute what we have voluntarily, after all are we not christ-like? Wont God enable us to give and guide us? Say the truth. You trust men more than God joor |

Stupedinluv:Hahaha... i received men Jesus sent cos its scriptural.... were you ever compelled to pay tithe? Tithing is not by force, in my church tithing is only taught, whether u pay or not is nobody's business and no one will ever ask you to show proofs of payment. Its personal, its telling God im returning a part of what you gave to me. Lets not stress over this issue, Tithing is scriptural n its not by force. You chose to give or not same way u chose to give to the poor or not... Chose wisely |
