Thanks for the advice Sir. Please house, I need your inputs. I'm still confused on going for Phd directly or doing another masters degree in a management related course (I have a Masters of Science degree in Business Administration already from NOUN). Thanks.

First Degree also in Business Administration. Finished in 2012. Worked for some months (had to resign cos of my hubby's relocation and posting to North East then). And thanks so much for your swift response.

Bus Admin is very wide and u already have two degrees in that line....if i were u, i would go for something more narrow and specific such as an area in Bus Admin that you like for example MS in Project Management (not sure if they have this in USA) or like MS in Supply Chain Management or Ms Finance (if u like such ) .......

As for phd in school of business. I don't know much regarding that and except maybe if u want to remain in the academic line if not i dont see d demand for phd in management . I see more demand for work experience and some top up certification later on...anyway these are just my opinion and observations , not the gospel truth

@Cariza, the lord is your strength. I understand what you must have been through. I lost my younger brother, a brilliant smart chap just out off the academy to those bastards over two years ago so i know how you feel. Stay strong and move on. Naija Sha....

Today marks exactly a month i left the shores of Nigeria... Left a lot behind for a better life for myself and family and i must say so far so good, God has been faithful. I got to the US with virtually nothing, home and abroad. But today, I'm almost done with paying my fees and am doing fairly well under a very tight budget. To all intending scholars, believe in God and work hard to make your dream a reality. Its not easy out here, but its worth it. With proper planning and God by your side, u all will scale through IJN.

P.S. Is it crime to do assignment for person? Its all for the money oh.

nice one baba...enjoy and Jah bless

and for the assignment part, it is only regarded as a crime when caught by the honor code council of your school.
people dont get caught on these assignment stuff sha.

many chinko and arab students always need help on many of their english assignment and may approach we nigerians to help out because our english is much better than theirs.. and you will make lots of friends doing this.......... schooling here is not easy... to me its not a crime to help. if no be indians wen help me for some kind courses...enn lipsrsealed

peace

Please can I use WES BASIC instead of ICAP?

Make use or the WES Icap because it's the best and it's course to course evaluation with some benefits that Wes basic doesn't have. It was listed on WES site and try look for it then compare the two together

Please don't think of the cost but think of quality and not quantity.

Hello House,

Ok...i was denied on friday @ abuja embassy. My transcript goes like this.

VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning sir.
VO: pass me your passport
VO: So you are going for studies
Me: yes* the Vo cuts in
VO: can i have your I.20
VO: Why Arkansas tech University
Me: having realised the great practical exposure available at the faculty of engineering through the power system laboratory & control system laboratory, it will be a good fit for me as an aspiring professional Engineer.
VO: what will you be studying
Me: A master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
VO: why a university in the US, couldn't you get this education else in Nigeria
Me: i could get this degree in Nigeria but considering the blending of practical experience and theoretical experience which i seek and most Nigeria universities basically wont give me a practical exposure. Also the Us educational system is highly ranked globally* The VO Cuts
VO: how did you hear about the school
Me: a family friend attended the school some years back and recommend it, so i looked it up at usnew.com to know more about the school
VO: Why Arkansas
Me: i think i started messing up from here because my brian told me he asked why arkansas tech not why arkansas, either way i responded saying, i did apply to another school but* The VO cuts in
VO: which school
Me: Cleveland State University, and i was offered admission, but because of the masters nature in Arkansas tech which is a Master of Engineering not Master of Science* the VO cuts in
VO: who will be sponsoring u?
Me: my inlaw
VO:what does that mean
Me: my sisters husband
VO: what does he do?
Me: He is a senior Financial Account @ Shell Nigerian
VO: Do you have anything to show his financial capability?
Me: Yes...handes the statement of account to him
VO: why does the account go from nothing to something real quick?
Me: that is his salary account which you will spot the constant salary from shell every month ending, so he withdrawals it most times
VO: why did he loan so much money {28million in march)...starts typing
Me: He didn't loan the money, he is financially capable and also owns a property in PH that generates him more money...bla bla bla, VO was stil typing.
VO: sorry i wont be approving ur visa.

My people in the house, kindly help and tell me wat to change before next interview. Though i equally bleeped up too, i didnt Carry sponsorship letter, letter from shell starting his gross income, also his pay slip and all these are available. He currently earns abt 2million plus mnthly.

Please help to tell me where my responses were out of place and what can be done in respect of the financial capability of my sponsor.

Note: i think i was also a lil bit nervous, the questions were flying in and he looked and sounded mean, everybody was avoiding him that morning.

Sorry about your delay and don't give up and try work on your lapses and God will favour you in your next interview

@bold 1

I believe the VO assumed or sense lodging of cash within a short period of time and which is not a good idea and always

@bold 2

Be careful of what to change when filling your next ds160 so that it wont affect you during the interview, just be persistent with the details you filled before and if possible add to it and nothing is bad by doing that. Also be careful of trying to show VO documents if they didn't request for it

Actually the first assignment was done by them, and they brought it to my tutorial class with them and we could not do any course work only correcting and re writing for both of them, so we end up staying up very late and that means more hour for me. So they are of the opinion that i should do it in points and give them to develop on it if need be and they pay $40 each. since they will still bring it back for further corrections before submission. Currently the nature of our assignments are in such a way that everyone has a research article or report or news article to develop or do abstract on it. So no two persons is doing same work. But forsha am treading carefully. Thanks
Are you back in US?

There is no site
but you can read back on here.

The visa officer wants to hear YOUR words in a normal speaking voice.
The very, very, worst thing is to be presenting speeches that you have practised in front of a mirror!
Read others transcripts as a guide but do not just copy their answers!
