Note that while the semester calendars already mentioned are about the most common..some schools operate on the trimester/quarter calendar, slightly different. Get to know which one your choice school uses.

Hello House,

I have HND in Office Technology and Management with 3.65/4.0 and BSc in Bus Admin, with 3.8/5.0, targeting fall 2017 and currently dealing GRE and TOEFL.

With the above, what is my chance of getting admitted for MSc. in Management information system?

Most importantly, can I have suggestions for universities with average or low tuition for MIS especially in areas with average jobs to help in tuition finance?

I've making online research but just need professional advise here.
best regards

Humm this school calendar ... why break the session into 10 weeks. Wonder what the tuition looks like if you are paying per semester . What is the point of winter and then spring quater making it 4 semester in a year instead of 3. ..... what school is this ?

John Hopkins has something similar for their MPH one year program....... Me think its a way to collect more money from students

IGlobal university in Virginia. The full year fees is $12,000. So student are permitted to pay in installment paymnt which means $3,000 for every quater.

From the name you can tell it is probably a one man shop university ....... Then i went to their wiki page , its even more obvious
Hope this school wont pose a problem during interview , you need to do your research on that

Your friend might just be a one off lucky person with a praying grandmother grin... You are wise to try a different school , preferably a proper Public University because some of these schools if you get there and see its really rubbish you wont even be able to transfer your credit (depending on the school accreditation) . ..

Do a WES evaluation and your credentials would be transformed to a Graduate template. SomeOne did it here. And got into southern Georgia university. But got funding when he arrived at the school..
Best of luck

Hi everyone...here goes the popular intro...I've been silent on the thread for a while, started actually from batch10, trying to read from page1. Thanks to everyone who has been helpful here...you've touched more lives than you can imagine in positive ways you can't imaginesmiley
I finished Bsc Electrical Electronic Engineering with a CPA of 5.7/7. I wrote IELTS earlier in the year with overall band of 8.0 ( my focus was Canada then but couldn't get RA).
I intend to do MSc in anything Electrical with probably some Business options. I'm still having a hard time finding the right course ( I'm very open to suggestions)

I'm shifting focus to the States because I think US has more funding opportunities compared to other countries particularly because I don't have the financial muscle to foot the bills. I'm trying hard to save up but I need some form of funding preferably RA or TA

I'm prepared to write GRE now ( Uncle Gunther6 promised some good discount, plenty thanks to him).

Where I need help now are possible schools that can provide funding or scholarships. Im trying to compile a list since I have to submit the GRE scores to them immediately after the test.

I've tried some other countries with no success basically because I keep to myself most times. I don't want to make same mistakes this time,so I'm open to corrections and guidance from everyone.

Thanks. Hoping to get suggestions soon!

Yes, even if you don't receive any pay....at least doesn't sound like passive income/work to me.

When can I apply?

Hello, in may this year, I applied to a university in US and was given the fall admission but after contacting an agent in June to help with my travel arrangements, he told me that the trip was unlikely because it was too close to the resumption date so I told my uncle to send me a family invite from Texas while I defered my admission. I went to the embassy but was denied a tourist visa 2weeks ago. Now I want to reapply but for student visa like I wanted initially. Can I apply for the spring session or do I have to wait till summer 2017? I heard that I have to wait 6 months before reapplying but there is no information like that on Google. please help. How do I go about it?

You have to contact your school and get a new letter of admission, that will state the next available start date.
Then re-apply for student visa.

Strike out URI and MTU, except a prof is interested in you, funding is a long shot. Getting into URI is tougher than MTU.
CSU is a top school and you would need a top notch profile to get in but they're well funded. The thing is they admit more of PhD students.
Missouri state university is very good. You stand a great chance of admission and funding. Yeah I mean it,you can make your findings but you have to provide bank statement during application and they make their decision late.
Oklahoma is good too with funding and admission but I'm sure you still have to offset some bills which shouldn't be that huge, same goes for ETSU. In fact, you can getadministrative GA or tuition scholarship at ETSU.

Strike out Florida except if you have a first class and a gre score of 315+.

I don't know about Kentucky. Sorry bro.

For URI and MTU I think a friend of yours named CProf was admitted to those schools with funding, he stated that URI gave him highest funding but he choose to go Tennessee tech. Is there any reasons for that.

The funny thing is that what worked for A might not work for B.
Some schools are generous with funding and some are not. So basically, you should be careful with your choice of school. I know people that got into these schools you listed with funding, some didn't. So it's just about having a good profile and matching it with the right schools.
