Enyia, forget this thing wey u dey yarn. sad Nigerian government is a mess. Let assume that a 20KM of road in Nig is budgeted for 10B$ while the same 20Km in Japan is budgeted for the same amount or even lower . Nigeria will use tribalism and corruption reap the money apart while sane country like Japan will utilise the opportunity and work on the road. Upon all the damages earthquake cause in Japan, they rebuild it with immediate effect. Whereas Nigeria is not an earthquake zone still the road is F.U.C.KED
Who is talking about the road or corruption here,
The first poster did an analysis and got few likes
The second poster did a mock up and got many likes.

If it's in Nigeria, they will blame the opposition party for the earthquake and afterwards the road will be abandoned b'cos it leads to South East.

Talk about a hard-working nation.

How long would it take to fix this road in your country?

In my country, Nigeria. NEMA will take two months to access the damage, then one side of the damaged road will be fixed by FERMA to ''ease traffic'', then bid of contract for the reconstruction will be advertised which will take an average of 2months,fortunate contractor will take 18months to complete the project. So an estimate of 2years....If you doubt me, check Lag-Ibd expressway since Jonathan commissioned the expansion till now will be how many years? And still counting.....Welcome to my bureaucratic, time wasting, country - Nigeria

Japan has advanced technology, plus an annual GDP of 4.92 TRILLION dollars.

Thus, comparing her current engineering capabilities to that of Nigeria is insanity.

OP, it's not about who is a ''hardworking nation'' and who isn't a ''hardworking nation'' - whatever the hell that means.

The economic and development profiles of nations are far more complicated than such silly simplifications.
nope is about good governance and commitment to advance standard of living.. This is wat we lack in nigeria

You are completely wrong... It has little or nothing to do with GDP... Contracts in Nigeria is just a way of siphoning money by our leaders.. They don't care if d road is fixed or not, infact they are even very happy if it's not fixed or badly fixed so that d contract can be re-awarded again and again.... to siphon more

So what did you succeed in saying at the end of the day? That government cannot have an immediate response to issues as they arise or we don't have money to respond to them?

People like you should be kept far away from government. You always try to sound smart but say nothing at the end of the day. These are the kind of people drawing us back here.

Although you have a very reasonable point bro which I won't dispute, but if I were you, my first point would have bn the ATTITUDE of our leaders generally. Uncle, if we have an annual GDP of 4.92billion dollars can you genuinely tell me from your church mind that the road would be fixed under 6days in Nigeria? Talk about the technology for road construction, bros we have it too. If you don't believe me talk to your friends in the construction business. I've seen things here in this country and far out of this country. Cheers man.

Ok. Where was China, Indonesia & Malaysia technologically in say 1974? And GDP? Not much better than us.

In 20 years time, we will be saying Rwanda or Burundi have better GDP figures to explain why they are ahead of us. We will forget that while we were basking in "giant of Africa foolery" in 1994, those folks were still busy butchering themselve. But reconciled and decided to get things right.

In 9ja, we never run out of excuses for mediocrity. shocked shocked

Fixing a portion of road that small isn't rocket science, Nigeria has more that what it takes to achieve same feat, if we have good leadership devoid of greed, partisanship and nepotism.
