My thoughts
You left school in 2005
You work as Maint tech, but want to study computers.
You will leave a paying job to go to school.
All this led the VO to be suspicious of your reason for going to the USA.

You must tie it all together.
Why computers, how does that tie in with your job, will you gain promotion? Will your job be there to return to?

Sorry abot that. But to be honest, I was not comfortable with the way you answer questions and you couldn't call more.

Just like a dude here who I asked to call me at a particular time. He didn't but apologized and apology accepted, asks him again to call in 10 minutes, he didn't once again but called back after 50 minutes. Some folks don't know I keep time like a foreigner.

Don't worry so much, you'll get it right next time. I will put you in prayers and would love to speak with you tonight.

Greetings everyone,

Have been a silent follower of this thread for about seven months and i promised myself to post transcript when i have my visa approved. A day without reading people's transcript and contribution is like missing an episode of a series movie. I read all the way from part four till date and gained immensely from everyone's contribution.

I never envisaged the nature of the interview i had today. It was pure grace favor, luck and mercies of God that worked for me today. Over- preparation worry me no be small because have been developing transcript for over 4 months and kept editing every now and then.

Interview went thus:

VO: Good morning, passport and I-20
Me: Good Ma'am
VO: Tell me your study plan
ME: I am going to; VO cuts, she dint even allow me say anything before interrupting
VO: What do you
ME: I work with; VO cuts again, she dint let me complete my sentence.
VO: Do you have any certificate and what did you study in your undergraduate
ME: I studied Business Administration and am also a graduate member of NIM
VO: Started typing for ages. She barely looked at my face all through the interview process. Your visa has been approved and i was given a pick letter.

No document was asked.

Special thanks to a good friend and brother Halidaf for ginger and info, Uncle Ope Salami, SirRiddy for the SEVIS fee and Warriboy. You all are favored by God's grace.

Never knew it's been over 10 years since you finished from high school and heading for a bachelor's degree. You probably would have had to continue talking after telling the VO 2005 without pausing to quickly close the gap and divert his or her attention to what you do for a living. This requires a lot of practice.

Another thing is source of funding like having a little scholarship, even if it's as low as 1,000 dollars would have at least show you are not running away, because some of these VOs like to see scholarship or scholarships with regard to the I-20 if they sense the sponsorship is not there.

Third, the information you supplied through the computer. Isn't it solid enough? Did you do voluntary jobs? If yes, it's good to include all of them. Why would you fill secondary school when you already graduated from higher institution?

Fourth, your passport, didn't it receive any special prayer? Lot of things to talk about, but will stop here for now.

really sorry to hear this especially about your mum . May her soul rest in peace amen

for this visa waka , i had mentioned to you after a certain age its hard to sell a bachelors degree without sounding like a runaway . Some people are successfully with it but i still think its hard ... Most times as the VO hears over 10 years since high school , in most cases that alone has made up the VO mind......

If i were u , i would use your HND and apply for a Master degree . No VISA is guaranteed or easy but i feel that is more credible to sell. All the best. Dont give up or be too sad instead focus on other things and all will be well .

Kk i get, all i just want is a school that the visa application will not be easy to get cos i heard its not all schools they give visa too. I dont need funding, scholarship, the ranking should be okay cause i heard dey look at that too.. The most important thing is for d visa to be approved.. Thanks

I don't because you preference might not be my preference. People pick based on location, ranking, climate, scholarship/funding, private /public, size, etc.
