That will make govt to be very irresponsible. No responsible govt should allow organised fraudulent scheme rob citizens of their hard earned money. That it happened once could be somewhat forgivable. A repeat will be totally unforgivable.

Nairaland and it's mods are really superb and I think the Federal government should also look into nairaland's activity in regards to the support MMM is getting from the operators and mods of NAIRALAND.

Someone was promoting the MMM scheme and I told him to stop bombarding every thread with the advertisement for such and voila he reported me to the mods and I was banned for weeks and I kept on seeing different posts and thread encouraging such scheme...

I know some large proportions of Nigerians are gullible but are they so gullible to forget Nospecto, Sefteg etc? where alot of investors didn't just loose their money but their lives.

to all of you shouting and screaming it's your money and the reps are bad, they don't want you to be wealthy like them bla bla bla... one thing I'm sure of is that majority of you are paid agents of MMM and just looking at attracting gullible Nigerians to invest more into such scheme.

Simple question: can anyone of you agents of MMM tell us which investment MMM does with the money, oh one of you even said it's like a social network where you help and get help, how does that sound sensible to you?

Mods, i beg if una like ban me ooo, but by God's grace, i will still be here looking out and laughing out loud when the irresistible crash of MMM happens and no one should blame Buhari or any other government official for failing to prevent it.

WAIT OOO, I DON'T UNDERSTAND, HOW IS MMM A SCAM? HOW IS GIVING AND RECEIVING HELP A SCAM? WHEN I WANT TO GIVE HELP THE MONEY STILL REMAINS IN MY BANK ACCOUNT UNTIL THEY PEER ME WITH SOMEBODY AND I PAY INTO THE PERSONS BANK ACCOUNT AND NOT "MMM BANK ACCOUNT" SO, WERE IS THE SCAM COMING FROM? WHEN I NEED HELP, I REQUEST FOR HELP AND AND MMM PEER SOMEBODY TO ME AND THE PERSON PAYS INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT, (WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH ANOTHER CHANNEL) HOW IS THAT A SCAM? THEY ENCOURAGE ME BY GIVING ME A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE OF MONEY FOR HELPING OTHERS, HOW IS THAT A SCAM? THEY DID NOT ASK ME TO PAY INTO THEIR OWN MMM BANK ACCOUNT LIKE WONDER BANKS OF EARLY 90S, HOW IS THAT A SCAM? THEY SAID I SHOULD BRING MORE PEOPLE THAT NEED HELP, HOW IS THAT A SCAM? EVEN IF THEIR WEBSITE SHUT DOWN TODAY AND I HAVE NOT BEEN PEERED TO HELP ANYBODY, MY MONEY STILL REMAINS IN MY BANK ACCOUNT. THERE ARE RISK INVOLVED IN ANY BUSINESS, I AM FULLY AWARE OF THE RISK INVOLVED, SO GOVERNMENT SHOULD MIND HER BUSINESS.

Peter Osa:
Information reaching me from the EFCC this morning is that there is no circular to arrest anyone,
What The Hon. Speaker Dogara Said is that activities if MMM be investigated, and 4 weeks is given to the committee of ethics and finance to report back to the House on the activities of MMM in Nigeria. Investigating MMM is a welcome development as this will further show to the world that we are not scanners as they have painted us. So there is no need for panic.
The media being who they are, have blown this out of proportion so as to create fear within the community. If we allow for panic, the Establishment have won and that is not what we want.
During my conversation with Guider Yinka this morning I was reassured that we at the top are speaking one voice, we are not taking this media chants lightly, we are already doing all that is within the law to protect our members and ensure that no one falls for this panic move.

Let's go about with our normal activities with more vigilance and care,
*no one should use MMM in our Narration when we make payment,
* no need uploading fake pop to create pain for others

Let do what is right.
Mind you the federal Govt of Nigeria can not shut down MMM site, there are regulations to shutting down internet sites and as a member of Internet Engineering Task force (IETF) and Internet Society (ISOC) which provide internet standards, laws and ethics monitors the activities of internet sites, I can tell thT Operations of MMM site have not contravened the laws, neither have MMM gone below the ISOC standards and as such the FGN can not shut it down,

MMM does not preach hate neither is the site used for crimes and Hate related issues.

Be rest assured that all is well.
I wish we as participants know why the so called establishment (govt and financial, media bodies) fight us we will be more determined to continue our participation. They want to keep the masses poor and MMM have said that will not happen now they want to fight it.

Let's be united lets be one

Hmmm...a little more than 1 week ago, EmmaFantastic warned them...on this thread:

www.nairaland.com/3439019/candid-advice-people-into-mmm.

Well, though I'm not into it, I was careful not tell people that they should not participate in MMM, because whatever financial struggles many of them are passing through, out there, I can not go to their homes to feed them, added to the fact that several people have said that they've got money from it. I just simply advised them: "be careful and watchful and don't put your life savings into MMM", and I even told them the info from regulatory authorities as well as the investigation by Guardian newspaper. There some truths I didn't bother to mention but I think you guys should know...
I'll be right back...

And u think ISPs will want to do it that for no massive gains?..MMM has helped increase ISP sales greatly..if not coz of MMM I may not need to subscribe for a week or two

All they need to do is instruct the ISPs in Nigeria to block access to it, not a big deal but hopefully it won't come to that[/quote].

9cguy:

How does MMM generate 30% to pay participants?

This is a question that can never stop being asked. I have tried explaining this severally BUT its like "magic" to so many.

I understand everyone's fears that's why I will break it all down further mathematically below.

Let's say,

100 donations came in from 100 participants @2,000naira each = 200,000naira

In order for the 100 donations to be paid their 30%, that means 60,000naira extra donations must come in.

The BIG QUESTION is then how?

Here it is:-
The 60,000naira wld come in through:-

(1.) Regular GH and re-PH from the 100 donations done by the participants.

Here is d maths:-
50 participants GH all their earnings + Principal donation = 130,000naira.

Total left over PH balance = 70,000naira

The remaining 50 then needs 60,000naira to get their own 130,000naira paid too.

The first 50 paid 130,000naira total then re-PH back their 100,000naira (maybe keeping back their total profit of 30,000naira)

That then adds up to the 70,000naira available to pay the 50 participants left (130,000naira).

++ So, the cycle continues on and on for as long as the principle of Regular GH and re-PH remains!!!

+++

This is just d same Principle Banks work with. That is why it is possible for just a deposit to serve 10 - 20 withdrawals.

And they pay you little interests for using your money to keep the redistribution process going!!

++

These house of rep members no get work! they all have big shares in banks and the banks are using them now as they are afraid of what MMM is doing to them, stopping MMM instead of providing jobs for the jobless masses is all geared towards achieving their personal interest! selfish people who are fighting to remain rich and keep the masses in abject poverty! MMM is working even if the close it tomorrow in Nigeria, MMM has done what most of our leaders could not do for years...within a year the impact is great in all areas of life.

You guys should answer a very important question .Why has the NASS and EFCC not gone after the lottery(baba ijebu, golden chance lotto) and sport bet coy(Naira bet,1960 bet, merrybet)?

The answer is not far fetched;its simply because all I have highlighted above impoverishes the vast majority and government actually collects tax from them. But,the reverse is the case with MMM.it frees one from financial slavery, which the government do not want, and again MMM do not pay tax to the government, that is basically what is causing this whole hullabaloo

Yea, I'm back.
Well, the Nigerian Government and it's regulatory bodies have the power, the authority, the necessary backing of financial laws as well as backing of our constitution, to ban MMM and banish them from Nigeria-every country has such powers and several of them already used the power either by not even allowing the nonsense garbage to operate in or near their country, or as in the case of China, banning and chasing them out of their country, many of you don't know these. Well, as it stands right now, the truth is that, the Nigerian government wants to, and has already decided to barnish MMM from Nigeria, but they don't want to do it suddenly, because they want to mitigate the effects, that's why all this while, they've been issuing warnings in intervals and hoping that anybody that has a functional brain in his head should use it and heed those warnings. Unfortunately, many of them are still spewing thrash and arguing like maniacs, because of s.a.t.a.n.i.c greed and spirit of "get-rich-quick and "easy money". Anyway, I've long ago, warned everyone I know about MMM, hence the advice I gave here on nairaland. I know that it has given many of you money, but...as long as it's a ponzi scheme, it is dangerous and unhealthy. Cocaine makes you "iry" grin, weed makes you "fly" grin, unprotected s*x is...sweet cheesy grin, but....they remain dangerous! Isn't it? That's how it is with MMM-it may be kind of "sweet", but it's unsafe and fraud laden, so the government will have to do it's job of protecting it's citizens, shikena! I hope you all understand.

I would have said u are not educated and gullible. But for the sake of being an educated person I will hold that back. What do u mean by they're educated people? Yet they don't have sense to think that for money to be generated then there has to be a source. Let me tell u, even if you are / have benefitting/ benefited from mmm, what about the persons that will be affected when the crash comes. Do you even know where they originated from? Banned in 5 countries in the past and now u guys are acting stupidly because our govt is not working well . that doesn't mean they should not act as a govt. Good job by the House.

Those of you old enough will recall that many Nigerians were defrauded in similar fashion in 2006/2007 through such investment with Real and Cool, Wealth Solution, etc. The return was even more fantastic than this. Many people lost huge money and some later committed suicide.

It mustn't happen again in Nigeria. A word is enough for the wise.

The bolded, was it not the same CBN and NDIC that block those companies accounts and up till date they have not return investors money to them.. Our government regulatory bodies are the real crooks
