Can you please tell was when crude oil was sold at $110? Was it all through GEJ tenure? How old are you? Emancipate yourself from Zombie(sm)
Emancipate urself 4rm foolishness. With this kind of reasoning, the future is bleak. Didn't oil sell 4 over a $100pb under GEJ? Aren't u aware of the oil boom? How much did ur master n saviour n hero save 4 Nigeria? Do u know better than okonjo iweala who said 'we were not able 2 save'? Abeg, park well joor.

Your assertions are simplistic and naive. There is always a cause and effect. The economy of the nation was already spiralling down before GEJ left, and was one of the reasons he lost reelection. Unimaginable, the FG even borrowed to pay salaries before he left. PMB though also made some mistakes, but is encumbered in trying to clear the mess of the past administrations.

Please present your data.

GEJ left fuel at 87 per liter without queues, Buhari made it 145 per liter 8 months after, and that was after they told us his body language has repaired all the refineries.

The economy recorded 3.5% growth in 1st quarter of 2015 & went into a recession 6 months after.

Talking of causes & effect, some foreign CEOs of coys in Nigeria went to Buhari and cautioned him to tone down his rhetorics, he refused & $80 biillion in capital left Nigeria. Also, the elders of the South-south tried to seek audience with him after his swearing-in but he refused and went to U.S to call them 5% and the result is the resumption of millitancy that is responsible also for this economic mess.

Buhari is a failed leader, let him just go.
what do I say. Huh, just thanks

It is quite funny that when most ppl quote from the history lane, they always forget the paint the full picture or maybe just never finished the history class. Coz prior to 1984 when Buhari took over, the world was already heading into recession also and it affected all countries solely dependent on crude oil badly too which is exactly what is happening again. Pls, let's paint d full picture and call a spade a spade... Buhari might not av done much to help improve d situation, but he was never d cause of this problem we are facing as a country. This is a cumulative problem of all govt from military era till date who never had plans to save for d raining days or diversify d economy.
My brother use ur number 6, its the more reason Buhari was voted in, cos like we clamoured for change last year. Now we had it, and instead of getting to work he's still blaming GEJ's administration. Even Buhari is still blaming GEJ in his 18th month in office. Total failure.

4trillion naira at $165 = $24billion; crude oil sales averaged $110/barrel
6trillion naira at $385 = $15billion; crude oil sales peaked at $42/barrel.

This is our purchasing power in the world market which is popularly referred to as FX under the said comparative administration of GEJ & PMB.
It is instructive to note that this FX largely contribute to our GDP and consequently our standard of living as a consumer dependent economy whose major source of income is crude oil sales.

Sometimes you guys chunk out information without depth to defend your sentiment. undecided

How pathetic can you get by doctoring figures just to prove your myopic points!

165 to a $ as against the popular 216 to a $ that even APC goons used to campaign as unfair and unacceptable? Then 385 to a $ when even this morning the official rate remains 305 not forgetting the fact that almost a year into the administration the $ remained just a little above N200 as official exchange rate as your Messiah continued his strange fx policy that has grounded the country.

My dear brother, oil price hasn't averaged for 110. Doll/bbl since I can remember (at least since 2012). So I nor know where u get ur info from. Secondly if ur asking who saw d biggest price slump percentage den it was d previous administration cuz prices fell from 102$/bbl in Jan 2014 to 52$/bbl by March when dey left. Dats a whooping 50% decrease. So u see... don't just throw data from ur rear end.

when the tide was turning in favour of PMB, Orubebe felt he had to act fast otherwise he may be forced to cough out the millions he pocketed as it is happening now. He foresaw the problem & then suddenly went mad.

However, had it been Jonathan were still president, we would have been in the deepest shittttt ever in the history of Africa.

That is a speculation based on your opinion and not a fact. You cannot prove it right neither can I prove you wrong. The only fact we have on the table is that Nigeria is in recession under PMB

Ohhh shattap Mr depth to defend sentiment bullshittt
Is it my fault that due to Buhari and and his inexperienced team's inability to plan properly and manage the economy, the exchange rate under his watch nearly hit 500 naira to a dollar ?
You could as well have used 500 naira as a basis for your warped and convenient analysis...........
Did you ever figure a scenario where the dollar exchanged for one naira (at least that's what the dullard promised to bring it to and which arguably amongst so many other lies, swayed the votes of the non-discerning to him) or at least for fairness use the same 165 naira to a dollar and the correct OPEC price for crude as at November 2014 when GEJ proposed that budget and which is way lower than the false figure you posted.

Face the fact,Buhari and his team are an expired and incompetent lot who have destroyed the economy of Nigeria and brought untold hardship to tens of millions across the geo political zones of the country.
Deal with it

Let me agree with you on this, but the entire country is suffering this hardship called recession. GEJ planned a budget of 4trillion naira and the country was sailing smoothly. Buhari put up a budget of over 6trillion naira, and people are dying everyday of hunger and millions more a packing from the cities back to the village. My question is this. If Orubebe was doing this for his pocket and succeeded, won't you have preferred to be able to thrive and grow to what is currently going on in the country? (that's assuming you are in Nigeria)
i agree with you.

stop posting nonsense. If your village people are dullards and illiterates you can deceive them, not us.

Oil price had fallen to around $30 almost a year before Jonathan left office.

To put it this way, Jonathan(I hate him and voted the fool called buhari) made the budget at $100 per barrel calculation but oil prices fell later and he still maintained the economy. That to me is genius and masterstroke.

The truth is; nobody even noticed that huge deficit because Jonathanmaybe clueless but he has listening ears to experts and their advice. So he had to borrow money to steady the ship

Unlike who made budget with oil at 30 dollars per barrel and now it's 40 dollars per barrel. Have we noticed the difference in our economy? With a president with common sense, the 10 dollar bonus is enough to rebuild the country but our stupid fool is busy fighting Niger delta and militants and acting a fool

I regret voting buhari the brain dead

Now let me ask you guys a simple question, whose fault is it that the dollar is where it is right now? Your president came into power, he didn't appoint a single minister till after 6months in power? Why did he place a ban on forex transactions? Foreign investors ran away when they saw a government that had no direction and full of nepotism.
President Buhari doesn't have a single idea of what he is doing. He removed fuel subsidy to save money, where is the money saved? Look at his appointments, how many of them are actually technocrats with experience and track record of achievements before politics? Non.
From his ministers to his advisers. Even the senate had to put a stop to it at the point of ambassadorial nominees.
Emancipate yourself from mental slavery.

By now you should know the reason that's if you keep an open mind. It became impossible for the fg to provide forex for everybody without running the country to the ground. Also there are lots of investigations involving forex. His methods are poor but then I understand where he is coming from.

By the way there are people wishing naira continues to fall. Those that wants to have made money that they never imagined from this our forex situation.
