This is the reason I don't see the sense in cajoling people to marry nor any sense in cajoling them to marry people they have no feelings for.

People always gravitate to their innermost desires even if those desires are destructive or will cause others pain and suffering.

I'd say the groom dodged a bullet at some cost though, Miss. B should be allowed to follow her heart right or wrong - if Mr. L decides not to marry her its her own cross to bear.

You seriously don't understand how family and the society pressure one into loveless marriages

How will i understand? I either do not have a brain or a family. From the story, the family simply asked her to marry cos she was getting old while waiting for someone who she wasn't sure was coming back or not. She could look for anyone else to marry or simply tell them her husband is on his way from the UK. To show her level of irresponsibility and immaturity, why didn't she tell the ex to come see her family, when they got back in touch? At least it would have given her the impetus to call off any arrangement for the wedding.

She's not a kid am sure if they pressured her to commit suicide she won't. No one can force someone to marry who they don't want to, they can only create situations to make it difficult not to. At the end of the day it was her decision. So she wasn't forced she was only pressured which is not the same as forced. If robbers point a gun at your head and tell you to drop your cash now that's force.

The lady is very selfish
Why wait till e wedding day to disgrace ur family and parent like that.
She went through introduction etc.
She has all the time to call it off.
Just to disgrace her entire family cos of an ex.
They say family come before everything.
But the reality is FAMILY IS EVERYTHING.
Ungrateful child.
I hope it will not be too late when the reality of what she have done set it.

My thoughts exactly

Though, it is a little setback; but I truly applaud her for following her heart.

Marriage is not a do or die; money spent will be recovered, people who are disappointed, will get over it with time.

Kudos to the lady, for following her heart against all pressures. Many people today, are managing their marriages because they did not follow their heart, others were not as courageous as this lady to breakout and run, when it is obvious that, they are getting into marriage only because of pressure and not out of love.

I really will love to get married one day, but as the days go by and I see what men do to their wives and, what wives do to their husbands, my resolve and views about marriage disintegrate piece by piece.

No matter how good you're, bad things will happen to you, in fact it actually singles you out for that simple reason "that you're good."

My dear brother, with respect to your last paragraph, I would like to tell you I've now saved it and would be quoting it in my tweets, posts and discussions. I have lived what you just crystallised in words. There is no god in this life. If there were, I wouldn't see what I've seen

Can't believe how some women thinks, why agree to marry someone when you know you are still in-love with another. Mtcheww

Another reason to conclude that Marriage is overrated.

I wish the guy better luck next time and make sure he sees a therapist before we have another front page loading with someone who has committed suicide

Meanwhile, Check my signature

People like U are just stereotypical....marriage is overrated because and idiot refused to get married?.How does that even add up? undecided .

The problem was clear here, she was almsost pressured into a wrong marriage. How on earth is that the fault of d marriage institution. Just like someone forced to study medicine(which happens commonly) and decides to ditch that plan. And someone comes n say something in d line of thats why medicine is overrated..shoroniyen. Millions of people are suceedinng despite numerous failures. What U should have learnt here is the fact that people marry for wrong reasons. Imagine the guy from UK never came , she would have still ended up marrying a man she never loved and their marrige will be "overrated" with issues. Not marrige generally, but the ones contracted by 2 weak n stupid people.

And the truth of d matter is ; more marriages are succesful than the failed ones. But they will not make news because its normal. Just like hearing reports of road accidents or bombings, you will.almost assume almost the whole country is dead, but in reality less than 10% are actually dead because of these reasons. But will it make d news that U are still alive today?, but if 10 drunk guy stabs U to death (God forbid) U will make d news ...thats the reality of d media. That is what is overrated. Would it have ever made d news of the marriage or wedding ceremony has held succesfully
...Nooooooooo
