Flowers:Emirates any day, any time. Their services are top notch, and roomy interior. They usually have lay overs in Dubai. The only disadvantage is the flight duration. You'll have to fly 7 - 8 hours to Dubai, then fly even more hours to your final destination because they don't fly directly across the Atlantic, but through the north pole. Asides from that, the flight is comfortable. |

[quote author=Flowers Emirates and Turkish airline. In terms of services, comfort and lay over which is better? And I intend going by 36 weeks hope the policy of either airline is favourable or I have to go earlier. Thanks[/quote]Only flown emirates, great customer service, looooooonng but comfy flight. Flight was not full from dubai to Houston so space to snooze. Layover on the outward leg was not fun cuz getting thru passport control then to the hotel took a lot of time, by the time we made it to the hotel we had only about 3-4hrs before departure. Booked the airport hotel on the return leg and the layover was awesome, no passport control, lots of time to enjoy the room and the airport shops and a short walk to the departure area. As per customer service, met a nasty African American lady supervisor in Houston who made me pay extra for luggage inspite of an email confirming the right amount I tried to show her, made the payment, contacted customer service when I was back in naija and after a couple of emails got my money back. Okay I'm done! All the best! |

Oh forgot to add, in lagos Emirates was adamant my fit to fly letter wasn't enuf just cuz there was no EDD on it. After being sent from supervisor to manager, we were allowed to get the port health certificate |

You can both start now especially if you have not gotten a US visa before so that you can get early appointment and start all the other preparations after your visa is issued. August looks far but it is not. My view though. Wifeysist: |

chibertha:I concur, the earlier the better, incase of a refusal which no one wishes you can reapply and repackage, August isn't far again. |

I greet you all. So I came into LA last week but between trying to settle in and tending to my 2yr old toddler who was running a fever, I've been unable to post my Poe experience. Thank God he's doing okay now so here goes: came in on Emirates with mum and son. Loooong flight but super duper comfy, I love Emirates. Joined the queue and an officer took me to a free cbp officer on seeing I was pregnant. I greeted him, no response then he asked for passports and I handed it over. Asked what I was there for, told him to have my baby. Second baby? I said yes. Where did you have the first? Elpaso, Texas Sir. How much did you pay? I paid almost $6000 sir. Receipts? I hand them over. But ur receipt here says you paid $2700. Yes sir, that's only the hospital bill. I've got receipts for the total amount I paid as well here in soft copy on my tablet. Okay ma'am,hold on for my colleague he said as I make to fish out the receipts from my iPad. |
