She could've given him this (KJV) Bible along with another Bible (such as an NIV -study- Bible that're helpful and easy to understand) with nothing written or highlighted inside. All those writings and highlights in this Bible can be very distracting for someone, but I know her intention is to help him, so s'all good. Her love for him is commendable. I hope he will never take it, nor her, for granted.
