Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Riddeek: 8:45pm On Dec 31, 2016 |
1soul:"travel history" is just an accompanying reason, neglect it. (Except you have issues with immigration in other countries) Focus on tackling purpose of visit. For starters, your brother needs to carefully draft a solid and very convincing SOP to explain why he wants to study that course and why he chose Canada to further his studies, and if possible include future goals. |

Riddeek: In his SOP those points you highlighted were well addressed. I am guessing home ties, perhaps he needs a stronger home ties. Thanks for the response. |

Innomside:If you looking to stay for just few nights! Your best bet would be Hi-Hostel; it's situated just at the heart of downtown St John's with proximity to major places across the city...It should be around $33 per night... Alternatively, if you're still looking for a more affordable place to stay, then you might wanna look up an App called AirBnB... Hope this helps! Safe trip and Best wishes... |

wealth360:Quite insightful your comment especially what the prof from OAU said. It still bores down to getting accepted first for the program. After that we shall face the hurdle of getting visa from cic. That is where we need d experiences of the gurus on this thread. I've also started an application with uuniversity of Saskatchewan for fall 2017. In case the big guns decide to reject me. |

@free radical, I will advise you to apply to only one of the top tier schools (U of T, McGill, UBC). It is not unusual to see Canadians, Chinese and Indians with perfect undergraduate GPA (4.00/4.00 or 10/10) and published undergraduate thesis applying to this top schools, unless you have a very high GPA or published thesis in your field it will be better to look for backups. Apply to two mid tier schools (U of Alberta, Calgary, Waterloo, Western Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Dalhousie, Ottawa ). You can check your program in each schools , availability of potential supervisor in your intended research field and the possibility of guaranteed funding to make your choice. We all shall have a prosperous year ahead full of TRV success for the applicants, academic success for our bro/sis in CA, and blessings for all our gurus taking time in their busy schedule to give us informations. 4 Likes |
