LagosNIV:
Many applicants are still failing to upload their visa photos as part of the application process, creating delays and bottlenecks in Consulate processing on the day of interview. Effective immediately, visa applicants who do not upload their photos when submitting their visa application will be turned away and advised to complete their application by uploading a proper photo.

This will usually require the rescheduling of their appointment. The process for uploading photos is easy and is thoroughly explained in our on-line application. Avoid disappointment and delay—upload your photo as part of your visa application!
I uploaded my photo for the 3 denial applicarions I did last year to study. It is quite easy.
I wish you can help me edit my chose of school in your system , I don't know how my choice of school changed on your system. I was told in the last interview i changed my school: which I didn't! Im Scared of applying again with the same story!

Hello Abuja NIV

I am about to renew the US visas for myself, my wife and my first son and we plan on using the drop box as we qualify. We however now have an additional son who wasn't born when we got our previous visas. Will we have to schedule an appointment for him for an interview or can he be put together with ours for drop box as he is just 2 years old. Grateful for your guidance.

Hello NIV
My husband and i renewed via dropbox two years ago and intend to renew via drop box again but when i created a new account, it stated that the information was similar to an already open account, which was my Husbands account. So i logged in and tried to apply through his but it has been complicated because i couldnt edit his passport details and a couple of things that have changed.
Should i use the new account or how do i sort out editing passport details in the old account?
We intend submitting together

Hello dear VO,I am sorry to bother you with this question in case you have answered it in the past.I need some clarification: my mum is coming over again to the US on a visit, can she travel using the same 2yrs B1/B2 visa within days/weeks of expiration for a 6 month visit or must she get another visa appointment/via drop box?If no,will she qualify for drop box or make a fresh/new visa application and appointment?I think I read somewhere that its okay of one travel before the expiration. Her current visa expires in Feb.Thanks!

Hi JaneAusten.

As per:
https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/study-exchange/student.html

Enrollment in a short recreational course of study, which is not for credit toward a degree or academic certificate, is permitted on a visitor (B) visa. Learn more about Visitor Visas.

Study leading to a U.S. conferred degree or certificate is not permitted on a visitor (B) visa, even if it is for a short duration. For example, distance learning which requires a period of time on the institution’s U.S. campus requires an F-1 visa.

JaneAusten:
Good morning officer,
Please I have a short course of study in the US which after completing I will be issued a certificate. The duration of the course is 1 month. Please am I to apply for an F-1 visa or B-1. Thanks

Hello vickyhail. Dropbox is a courtesy service that spares some applicants the need of coming in for an interview. It is not a guarantee of renewal.

Hello cute2014. The expiration date on a visa is the last day that you can apply for entry into the US. It is up to CBP as to whether entry is granted.

Hello AbujaNIV,
Thank you so much for the good work you doing on here, please I will like you to help address this issue, just curious as to what might gone wrong for it to happen.
I have a friend that was granted visa but before she collected her visa on December 22nd,she was placed on AP for about 2weeks. She eventually traveled out of the country on Tuesday,January 17 and she was deported through the same airline she flew from the country but on getting to Doha where they have like 7hours lay over she was incarcerated for the period of the lay over and on getting to Lagos, she was asked to wait till everyone on the airline was down before she could and she was handed over to the police and immigration.
Just been curious if that's the deportation procedure of US or something. Thanks

Good Afternoon, I am new here my younger sister used this forum and as we speak she successfully applied to school in Canada and has gone with her two kids all on her own without paying a dine to anyone.

My quest here is to help my mum, she is trying to do a Dropbox US visa renewal to go the US in April as her current B1/B2 visit visa expires in March, 2017.
The previous visa she got was done by an agent.
We ( me and my mum) have gone online to fill the DS 160 form but I need the VO to help answer the questions like,
1. my mum is retired now, in her previous application in 2015 she was working then but now retired and doing business, so should she say she is retired or doing business, she can only pick one option,
if she says she is doing business am guessing we have to include the business documents and bank statements
she is funding the trip herself,
2. Her length of stay in this application is 2 months and since she intends to stay with my sister who is a US legal Permament Residence but a student who is graduating this May 2017, can she put my sister's accommodation as the place she intends to stay or book an hotel accommodation.
3 I am asking all this because the previous application visa she was given 2 years B1/B2 visa she stayed 3 months and came back since then she hasn't used it, it's now expiring she wants to renew is possible to go online to retrieve the application done in 2015
Please Advise. Thanks in anticipation

Hello AbujaNIV,

My hubby and I have B1/B2 visa. It will expire in mid February 2017. We decided I stay back in the US.

1. Can he do a dropbox alone this January b4 expiry i.e. can a dropbox be done 2-4 weeks b4 expiry?

2. With me not back, will it affect the chances of his visa been renewed?

Salutations farastrongman. The existence of a pending IV petition is not necessarily a preclusion to qualification for a non-immigrant visa. However, it is likely to be brought up at the interview, should you apply. We do not discuss chances on this forum.

Thank you so much AbujaNIV,

I got my visiting visa yesterday.

Appreciate your effort.

Good day guys and thanks for the great advice you offer here.
I booked for my b1 b2 US visa interview on the 29th of December, 2016. I read through this page as if I was preparing for a JAMB exam. The D day came eventually and I was full of confidence despite the fact that I did not have a bank statement with me. But to be candid, Olúwa was seriously involved.
There were initially 3 of them, then 2 left remaining a white lady on window 6. She was unapologetically bouncing everybody that presents her. Up to 40 before it got to my turn. Suddenly the other lady appeared and I was asked to go meet her in window 8. And then
Me: Good morning ma'am
Vo: Good morning
Me: How are you today?
Vo: {smiling} I am doing fine
Vo: Give me your passport
Me: Here
Vo: why are you going to Cleveland
Me: For my annual vacation
Vo: who is........
Me :she is my sister in law
Vo: Are you travelling alone?
Me: yes ma'am
Vo: why are you going to see your wife's sister without your wife?
Me: My wife is pregnant and will be ineligible to fly by the time I will be travelling. Besides, her sister is married and lives with her husband in Cleveland.
Vo: what do you do?
Me: A Medical doctor
Vo: Which school did you graduate from?
Me: University of Nigeria. Tries to show her my certificate but she declined.
Vo: Which year did you graduate?
Me: 2004
Vo: Do you have any kids?
Me: Yes. 2, the 3rd is on the way
Vo: What does your wife do?
Me: We recently opened a school. She is managing the school.
Vo: What is the pituitary gland?
Me: I mesmerised her with a detailed answer
Vo: What is the limbic system?
Me: I mesmerised her again. She is not a doctor and she is asking me medical questions.
Vo: Pick up your visa after 3 working days
Me: Thank you ma'am
