In my experience these bills are case by case based.
All the same go to the hospital and talk to a financial assistant or what ever they are called and remind them you are selfpay. I believe it will be reviewed.

Hello,
Silent reader of the forum here. And you have been of great help for me in this journey .
Looking to get back home to give a detailed synopsis of this experience.HOWEVER,Please I need the urgent assistance of anyone who recently had a baby at HNWMC.
The paediatrician bill I just received is $3,800!

The breakdown sheet I was given at registration was not even up to$1000,but I still budgeted $1000. I also declined the hearing test.

Please can someone help me to explain or direct me to who to talk to about reducing the estimate.

Please help!I am due to leave this country by Sunday

Were you CS? Did a pediatrician attend the birth? Were extra tests done? Did your child stay in the nursery (this typically should not be charged as most hospitals offer Well baby and mother packages so they cover a well baby but some hospitals have been known to charge for babies staying in the nursery as against staying with the mother in the room).

You need to be aggressive with them, ask for the financial counselor and ask for a detailed breakdown.

After all said and done, negotiate with them and keep stressing that you are self pay.

All the best. Please come back and give us an update on the outcome

Are you on a payment plan or is it an unpaid bill that is hanging?

I would suggest you try to clear the bill. It won't look good embarking on another such trip with an outstanding bill.

Hi everyone, i went for an interview early this year for a B1/B2 visa for a vacation with my husband. Vacation was supposed to be during Easter this year. I was denied based on not having strong ties home. After the interview, i realized i was pregnant 1 week later. I wasnt asked if i was pregnant during thr interview, but i was asked if i'll be taking medical treatment. My answer was 'probably in the future but not on this trip'. Now i'll like to reapply again for childbirth. Pls how soon do u think i should reapply and what do i do to make them realize i didnt know i was pregnant during the 1st interview? This is my 1st pregnancy. Thanks a lot

Thanks. I posted the transcript here. Only few people reacted to it. The second denial was so gross. She didn't give any reason. Seemed like the consular officer did not just like the idea of a birthing trip. At the third interview, I was asked about my hubby, if I'll be needing help and if i have a family in Texas. The VO sounded like it's not realistic to stay in an extended stay apartment for the long period of a birthing trip and as if one must definitely need help. Guess after checking my denial history, she just felt enabled to deny me.

Mbok, if you're using Dr Para Ti, kindly contact me.
Thanks.

Hi, please don't give up, expecially if your EDD is not very close. That might just be the miracle you are waiting for.

Hey guys. So i finally succeeded in filling and submitting my DS160 form. However, I am surprised i didn't qualify for drop box! Anyone had a similar experience? My last visa renewal was issued Feb 2014. Guess I should have qualified. Any ideas or suggestions? Not finding it funny oh. Tho i used this last visa to have 2 babies. It shouldn't affect my visa application status na, Abi?
sjrr

Sorry please what's DS160 form all about? And when is one said to be qualified for drop box because I don't understand please. I thought one can just apply for drop box. Don't know one have to qualify for it. Please can someone explain to me for a better understanding. Thank you.

"In my opinion, you qualify for dropbox if you have been granted a visa before, And the visa has expired not more than 36months ago and you are applying for the same category of visa. Also it will ask you if you havent had any issues with the law or immigration or overstayed your stamped in time. "

You have to schedule an appointment and it wIll see if you qualify for dropbox

Thank yo for responding @anonymousmum,@chibertha and @chanbaby

It was a vaginal delivery.I didn't request for a Paediatrician at the birth. No extra tests were done that I am aware of.The LO was with me on the room for the 2 days.

The breakdown they sent:

No,She later said that they sent her additional 3,800usd pediatrician bill. So she is asking for a way to price down the pediatrician bill.
