uche87:
Events seem to have turned out awry for Nigerian prolific singer, Innocent Idibia as he mixes political activism with music in his clamour for a nationwide political protest that has been welcomed with mixed reactions in Nigeria.

When Benue native, Innocent Idibia self-styled 2face declared a nationwide protest on the 26th of January, 2017 in reaction to the ailing economic of Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari, the move gained tremendous support on social media.

Davido, Olamide, Burna Boy, Comedian I Go Dye, Daddy Showkey, Charly Boy Oputa and other prominent entertainers supported 2face and their followers on social media were in high spirits about protesting against the administration of 'change' of the All Progressives Congress which has lost its popularity majorly as a result of the consequences of a recessive economy.

As other entertainers maintain silence about the activism planned by the 'African Queen' crooner, two Nigerian lecturers namely Professor Akindele Adetoye and one Dr. Bunmi Awoyemi Divinewealth respectively whitewashed 2face and attributed his problem to lack of proper formal education.

The former described 2face as a randy man who has failed to govern his personal life after indiscriminately sleeping with women unprotected and impregnating several others. The latter orientated 2face about the efforts of Buhari in offering bail out funds to the state governors as well as advocate for the clearance of the backlog of salaries through the Paris Club refund money to ease the sufferings of state civil servants.

2face, 41, officially has 7 children from three different women all except the last female child outside wedlock before he settled with his long-time girlfriend, Annie Macauley Idibia. Some fundamentalists and puritans on social media are of the opinion that the singer lacks the moral stand and reputation to lead a protest against a leader 'working' assiduously to fix the rot purportedly left behind by the 16 years of misrule by the People's Democratic Party, PDP.

As Dr Bunmi Awoyemi Divine also alleged with some supporters of Buhari, 2face benefited from some chieftains of the PDP who have their hands tainted with corruption cases.

When 2face got married to Annie in 2013, he enjoyed some controversial and ostentatious gifts from the former Governor of Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio as well as a former Senate President David Mark which the latter denied in the face of hard evidence.

Mr. Akpabio announced a gift of two brand new Toyota Prado SUVs to 2face and his wife. He also reportedly promised to bankroll an all-expense paid trip for 29 delegates from the state to attend the white wedding of the couple fixed for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on March 23, 2016.

Besides, he also hosted a lavish state dinner in honour of the couple and promised to rehabilitate the Eket-Ibeno Road ahead of the child dedication of 2face and Annie.

Akpabio is currently being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over an alleged mind-boggling fraud of N108 billion which was reportedly committed during his two terms - 2007 to 2015 as the First Man of the South South State.

2face was also purportedly gifted an outrageous and questionable gift of a N47million car on his wedding day with other unnamed perks that led to an outrage which forced the Benue politician to deny gifting him the brand new 2013 Chevy Corvette sports car despite his name being crested on it.

Meanwhile, David Mark's profile just like many public officer holders in Nigeria has come under questioning. According to New York-based news platform - Sahara Reporters, David Mark was a core member of the “Babangida Boys” club within the Nigerian military hierarchy under military dictatorship directed by the evil genius, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida between 1985-1993 during which he allegedly made a fortune stealing public funds.

According to Premium Times, he also has links to at least eight offshore shell companies while holding public office. This act is in violation of a federal code of conduct law, a massive leak of files belonging to Mossack Fonseca, a law firm in Panama exposed in April, 2016.

Since government is a continuum, political analysts have questioned why Tuface who benefited from Nigeria's days in the 'wilderness' will have the impetus and audacity to organize a national protest bearing in mind that the economic quagmire of Nigeria was orchestrated by the previous administration.

Economists even predicted the current economic recession since the year 2014 as oil prices at the international market suffered a free fall under former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. This according to them betrays the golden saying that "he who comes into equity must come with clean hands"

As a final nail to the coffin of 2face, a member of his defunct music group, Plantashun Boiz in the person of Blackface questioned the sincerity of 2face whom he accused of stealing the hit song of the group, African Queen which was released illegally under Kennis Music record label from where he raked massive cash.

He accused 2face of failing to identify with the people of Benue State in the face of their travails in the hands of Fulani herdsmen with limited and unsatisfactory government intervention. He supported the view that Tuface is an illiterate who lacks representation in his Local Government Area in Benue thereby betraying the principle that charity begins at home.

In a stinking interview with LIB, Blackface said:
"Let me tell you something. Does 2face Idibia have a fruitful foundation? No, Does 2face Idibia have anything that has to do with Benue State? No! Let me tell you something now. Emma Ugolee (a sick celebrity) is in the hospital. If somebody is a front runner what is he supposed to do? 2face is supposed to be able to mobilize people to figure out a way to raise money for Ugolee 's hospital's bill. If I want to do that, the radio and TV are not going to listen to me. You guys have to come out straight. I don't know what will happen after it but we don't have to do no protest. Let us get our mind straight, they should stop that and stop manipulating people's mind."

The drama seems unending as Nigerians remain divided over the national protest scheduled for 6th of February, 2017 at the national stadium, Lagos State. Tuface remains unfazed about the challenges and criticisms as he plans to actualize his plan as announced in today's public announcement on social media.

Abeg they should go and sit inside gutter, so he shouldn't have accepted a gift, a governor can clearly afford? Give me a break please.

If he did steal the song, that was very bad of him but, the issue was resolved, seeing that the 3 of them went ahead to make music together, afterwards, so why is the charcoal face making noise? It's not like tuface wouldn't have been huge without said song, plus, rumour has it that, the song was Chibuzor's.

As for the ones talking about his women and kids as evidence of lacking moral stand, they have nothing to say jare, make them go sleep.

It will only take a person with strong will to stand firm among these mind boggling points.

But still, whether 2face benefited from the past government isn't the issue, the issue is what is the present government doing to stop the current recession.

So in Nigeria having children out of wedlock disqualifies you from having a say in the way your country is going? This is terrible. Never seen a people so mentally retarded. Your political leaders from the North, how many wives do they have? How many underage girls have they taken forcefully? I pity this country. You call yourself a school prof and yet you can't tell what is right to condem. In the west single parents with kids from different people are mayors and governors , and in Nigeria the topic is about being married or not. Nigerians are blinded by fake traditions. So sad. In case you don't know, the world have left you behind.

Bad belle is the reason why Africans will never make good progress.

If you look at this Tuface idea logically; it is a sound platform for social agitation.
Moreso, if sustained in due nature; the gains will be positively overwhming.

But now, what we are seeing is people attacking this young man cos of his past life and associations.

And so what? If he's so terrible as a messenger, what stops anyone(The saint) from adding steam to the movt and taking it up from him?

That's the way to build.

And not to sit down and pull down.

Newbiee:
I just read an article by Tony Okoroji and it makes a lot of sense to me. It reads:
SATURDAY BREAKFAST with TONY OKOROJI:

BUHARI IS NOT DEAD BUT THEY ARE KILLING HIM ON SOCIAL MEDIA!

You better believe it, Nigeria is at war. I am not talking about the Boko Haram war in the North. I am also not talking about the never-ending skirmishes in the Niger Delta that threaten to bring to a halt whatever little income we still generate from crude oil.
Nigeria is at war over the control of the minds of our young people and the millions of our vulnerable citizens. The war is fierce. There are no rules in this crazy war. The Geneva Convention does not apply. Religion is in play. Tribe has become a major weapon. Genocide soon will be okay. Torture will be allowed. Right now, every crude propaganda tactic is being deployed as tribal, religious and ethnic hatred is being incubated in our land.
My biggest worry is whether the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria fully understands that our nation is at war and that if we do not do what we need to do and do it fast, Rwanda may once again be repeated in Africa.
I can hear a chorus of ‘God forbid!’. That is part of the problem. Somehow, we Nigerians have convinced ourselves that God loves us so much that we can do very stupid things and there will be no consequences Yea! We believe that what applies to the rest of God’s children do not apply to us. For some reason, we have begun to believe that we are such a special breed that we can consume all our seedlings, sow nothing and yet reap a bountiful harvest. Let me ask: did the Almighty step down from His throne while the horrific tragedy of Rwanda occurred? Was He not there while brothers and sisters butchered themselves in Sudan? Right now, in Syria and Iraq, unspeakable mayhem and suffering are taking place but God is still on His throne.
Let someone show me that chapter in the Bible or the Quran that says that God loves His children in Nigeria but hates his children in Rwanda, Sudan, Syria, Iraq and the other places where the incubation of hate has led to indescribable human suffering. Was God not on his thrown when Nigerians slaughtered each other during the Biafra war? Why is today different?
Everywhere in Nigeria people are praying from dusk to dawn. Everywhere you look, there are new churches and mosques being built. Pray, how can we love God so much, that we hate our brothers and sisters, children of the same God so much?
During the week, I accidentally ran into Femi Adesina, President Buhari’s chief spokesman, in Lagos. Femi probably would tell you that I was very upset with him, his team and their tactics in what has clearly become a war of attrition. I accused his team of leaving our president naked to be shot at and made fun of by all kinds of characters. Femi is clearly one of the finest journalists Nigeria has produced in recent years. He has grilled me in a memorable interview at the Sun. Practically, everyone who knows Femi will tell you that he is also a very decent gentleman. I like him. I am however asking myself whether Femi is not too decent to lead a critical part of the war that President Buhari must wage to prevent Nigeria from going the way of Rwanda or Sudan.
The war I speak of is not in Sambisa Forest or the creeks of the Delta. The war is on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat and all over the internet. At this point, millions of Nigerians are being recruited to despise their President, to despise their fellow countrymen and to despise their country. History tells us that the ongoing recruitment has huge consequences for every Nigerian, man woman and child. Times are hard for a lot of Nigerians and that makes it even easier.
As has been clear in other places where foot soldiers of hate have been unleashed, a lot of the people being recruited do not even know that they are being recruited. How did Al Qaeda begin? How did the Hutus and Tutsis of Rwanda who had existed together for hundreds of years wake up one morning and start butchering each other? How did Boko Haram grow under our eyes and become the terror machine that has traumatized the Nigerian people?
Let’s face it – Buhari has stepped on Big Toes. Big Toes are fighting back with vengeance. Big Toes are incredibly cunning. A hungry man is an angry man and the story being craftily told the millions of hungry Nigerians is that Buhari is responsible for the biting hunger in the land. Big Toes will not tell you that they stole Nigeria’s common wealth, bought mansions across the world with the money budgeted to fight Boko Haram and sent our young men without weapons to go and die in Sambisa Forest. They will not tell you that they are responsible for the hunger in the land.
Sadly, while they are telling their story in a very co-ordinated way, no one appears to be telling the true story of Nigeria in a manner that makes sense. While Big Toes have an army deployed on every social media platform tugging on the hearts of our young and vulnerable, the president’s men are sending press releases to NTA and Daily Times. Please, when was the last time you got your news from NTA or Daily Times? If anyone still believes that social media is a joke, he needs to be reminded that Donald Trump just became the most powerful man in the world using a smart phone.
Many of those who had supported our president and his determination to eliminate the virus at the heart of our nation’s sickness, have even become too scared to even be associated with him. They are badly outgunned on social media. The many crazy stories that went viral recently about the ‘death’ of our president is a new level of the war. Big Toes want to totally demystify, discredit and destroy Buhari so that they can regain control of the purse strings of Nigeria. They cant wait for 2019. That is why they are killing our democratically elected president on the social media. Where is the guy responsible for clothing the President?
Let me state here that I have never met Muhammadu Buhari. I have never spoken with him directly or indirectly. I have not benefited from him in any way. I am not even sure that he has ever heard of me. I do not belong to APC or any political party. But I remember what happened in Nigeria after Buhari was taken out of power the first time. 419 took root in Nigeria and our values collapsed. The War Against Indiscipline died and madness took over the land. Buhari’s medicine might be very bitter but Nigeria’s sickness is that severe. If for any reason we no longer want Buhari, please let us wait for 2019 and not kill him on Facebook.
The truth is that our nation is at war. It is time that those who truly love Nigeria and want a tomorrow for our children fought back.
See you next week.

You better stop posting this nonsense here. Is Okoroji your father?
You guys used the media to demonize GEJ's government and now you want a soft landing for Buhari...No way...

We are all together in it... if it is war, we will all fight. And let me tell you something, your children will be killed first.
You think you can scare us with war or genocide?
The hunger alone that the masses are facing is enough genocide...
This is not time to preach peace because during the time of Jonathan Ameachi schemed for a pararell government should the election not favour APC.

what is APC ? Association of Prominent Criminals...
So stop posting this nonsense here...
