Top Nigeria comedian, Basketmouth have jumped in defense of his follow entertainer 2Baba for the cancellation of the proposed Nationwide Protest which was scheduled to take place on the 6th of February 2017. Basketmouth said people should appreciate him (2Baba) for even voicing out that he wants to lead a protest rather than criticize him.

He said he (2Baba) is till better than millions of Nigerians who only complain of Nigeria situation on blogs and social media.

In Basketmouth's words:

basketmouth Before Tuface stepped out to air his views and speak for most Nigerians if not all, most people got so comfortable complaining about the state of Nigeria on blogs, their homes etc. Nobody made a move to do anything about anything. Whether he pulled it off or not....bottom line is that he took a step, unlike the people cursing him out even after he gave a very sensible reason to pull out.

At least now we know that the Govt is afraid of what can become of Nigeria if everyone comes together to speak in one voice, one heart to achieve one goal.
Big ups @official2baba

Irrelevant people.

It is only in Nigeria, uneducated celebrities think they are relevant in the Governance of a Country. The business of running a Country is not a Comedy Show,or singing you are my African Queen.

This is exactly one of the reasons Trump won in the US. Because Hollywood ganged up against him,and thought they could use their star power to influence the election.

You entertainers should stick to entertaining, and let serious minded people worry about Nigeria.

I sincerely don't blame Tubaba for the cancelation, though kind of disappointed

It's so clear that they threatened him. Check his facial expressions in his videos.

The first video, he was relaxed on a chair, with sunshades and cap. It was his will and he did it perfectly.

The second video, he looked stressed and he wasn't properly prepared. Who does that? Only someone under duress.

Nigerians are myopic and docile. We want something as expensive as good governance yet think it will be handed to us for free... lol

We need to read more history books. How the western world fought against corrupt dictators, revolution after revolution to get to where they are today.

My people are too weak , common protest is too much to ask. Yet we expect the fg not to loot

For most protests to work, people need a critical mass of followers to make the Government sit up and take notice. And in our country, only Pastors or mega celebrities wield this much power to pull a large number of people.

Up until now, this class of Nigerians that the masses have elevated have done the bare minimum to push for change. They've made a killing seeking the patronage of the wealthy, corrupt elite that has nearly killed Nigeria. They've been part and parcel of the rot...people given power and responsibility who only flex that power in showcasing their latest cars and babes on Instagram...or Pastors who focus their efforts on fleecing congregations instead of preaching against corruption and injustice.

Now after a spectacular failure of one of the privileged ones to be the catalyst to spur a popular demonstration, they've descended to relentless rounds of back slapping and fist pumping for "at least we tried".

Rubbish.

And they can keep quiet about the whole "nobody is doing anything" rubbish. Oby Ezekwesili has been protesting in two successive administrations for BBOG...a former minister who should even have more skeletons in her closet than Tuface can dream of. Yet she's not been scared off.

Blogs and social media also have an impact on the society. They are powerful tools that are use to shake any unpopular policy of government around the world.APC government has made several attempts to censored or ban social media to no avail.

And somehow you see yourself as one of the serious minded people you talk about? Would you say the truth for once and answer truthfully if this government has favoured the masses.
I'm sure you have been seriously affected negatively by this government. Tuface must have been threatened for him to back down. You guys should be objective for once and say things as they are.
Anyway, even your name explains why you see things and think the way you do
