Please I need precise clarification;

Do you have any IMMEDIATE RELATIVES, not including parents, in the United States? (on the application they stated finance/fiancee,son/daughter,siblings) .My question is does my brother in-law fall among these category of IMMEDIATE RELATIVES?

Because there is another question in the application that follows,Do you have any other relatives?..here I didn't waste anytime to tick YES,because they stated OTHER RELATIVES, as against the first question of IMMEDIATE RELATIVES.

Please your quick response will be greatly appreciated.

Dont package. Just prepare and submit a detailed application only after evaluating your current situation, knowing the reasons for the last denial are not still lingering.

If you need to "package" your application, then don't reapply.

As the primary applicant, you'll have to add your dependents when scheduling your appointment. Follow the instruction from where you'll see "Add by name" click and add your dependent. You will all be interviewed as a family.

Create an account on the appointment site here https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ as the primary account and when you start filling your form, you will see where you can add family members.

Believe me its easy

House please I need clarification on these questions;

1.Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents, in the United States? (Means fiancé/fiancée, spouse (husband/wife), child son/daughter, or sibling (brother/sister). I answered "NO" because this relative is my brother in-law...Am I correct?

2.Do you have any other relatives in the United States? Here I answered "YES" because it agrees with the sentence "OTHER RELATIVES"..Please,am I correct with my answers?

I went for U.S visa interview this morning and it went thus:
VO: why are you travelling to California?
Me: I'm travelling for a cousin's wedding and I want to use the opportunity to broaden my horizon. As a researcher and a PhD student, I know I would be travelling to different parts of the world presenting papers in conferences in future. Seemed she did get me.
Vo: what do you do?
Me: I'm a ..... working with ....state ministry of health.
Vo: how long have you worked at the ministry?
Me: didn't get her so I said 'pardon'?
Vo: she repeated the question
Me: 7 years
Vo: Have traveled out of the country?
Me: Never had any reason to
Vo: are you married?
Me: not yet
Vo: typed for 30 seconds to one1 minute. Left her sit for another office, spent like 1 minute, came back scanned my passport two times before handing me a green paper with my passport with a smile telling me to try some other time.
Note: this is my first attempt to travel out of the country. When filing the form I stated my salary was #100,000 which is my take home pay after much deductions. But I have two diagnostic centers in Abuja that generate more than #500,000 monthly and I have 5 staff. But I used government hospital because I thought it would speak better than my private biz which is 5 years and 1 year plus. There was no time to tell her about my other businesses even though I went with supporting documents. In case of next time, do I marge my biz income with government salary though my pay slip will tell my real salary. Moreover, what's the meaning of the green paper instead of the yellow paper for rejection? What I have written here is the truth and God knows. I hope to defend my PhD before August and wish to go for a conference before the end of the year. Thank you all.

Wow ties! Ties Ties! That is what worked against you. But if it were to be that you are going for a conference ,the case would have been otherwise ( Visa approval ). But all is still good. Wait and build ties.

The colour of the paper is insignificant. Shift your attention to the context.

Below are strong ties considered by the U.S visa officers in scoring an applicant points.

▪Marriage
▪Family, Children
▪Work, Years of Experience, Professional Certification, and Salary
▪Previous Travel Experience.

You have just one from the above and did well explaining your "intent" in the U.S.

Your "Monthly Salary in Local Currency" Should be N600,000. This should have scored you some points even though you have no wife and children yet, but you blew your chances without informing the consul about your private business which should have been considered your strong ties that will compel you to return back to Nigeria at the end of your temporary stay.

You can always reapply. Make use of the column in the application form "Briefly describe your duties" write intelligently about all you do in your paid employment and private business.
