Hi Guys,

I have a very serious issue regarding a fraudulent transaction that occurred on my account in the first week of Feb. this year 2017. I got an alert early that morning that a new beneficiary has been set up on my account and the next alert came in almost immediately saying total of one million naira has been transferred from my account to the beneficiary account. I quickly rushed to the nearest gtb branch and complained.

Fortunately, the transfer was made to a gtb account and so they were able to freeze the account. After all questioning as to if I knew the beneficiary and if I made the transfer, they eventually told me to get a bank order to enable them reverse the transfer.

I quickly sent an email to my account officers to intimate them about the situation while I get the bank order to which they responded that they will do the needful when I get the bank order. I employed the service of a lawyer who was able to get the court order on Friday 17th Feb and subsequently submitted the court order at the head office Lagos the following week.

I waited for about 4days for the reversal but nothing happened. I followed it by sending a mail to my account officer who claimed that they are still awaiting the court order. I responded by saying the court order has been submitted to the head office already and that he should check but up till now he never responded back. Another copy of the court was then submitted again to the head office 3days ago but nothing has happened since.

I have read some thread regarding similar case on nairaland and I am coming to the conclusion that I may have to escalate this issue to cbn but I do not know the appropriate email address. Please, I ask concerned one here on nairaland to help me on this case.

thanks

something like dis happened to my dad dis january. Gtb fraudulently reversed 50k to an unknown acct, we v bin going there to complain all to no avail. I had to cause a scene in d bank. You can sue the bank for negligence and I can guarantee you that the court will order them to pay for damages. Please don't forget my share ooo.

hello i got a feedback from gtb on twitter on ur behalf, they need to get intouch for more details. u need to open a twitter account asap and drop the handle so that they can reach u

The only feedback is to direct her to send her enquiries to the fraud unit of the bank. I have been on this for days now, nothing concrete is coming out of it. They gave me the email to forward my complaint to and nothing has been done about it.

I hope u have made progress, else send an email with all details to the head of GTBank. I had a similar experience some years back and went through a lawyer but it was dragging, even the account officer was not useful. The night I sent the email, by 9am the next day I got a call from their head office to report at the head office of the state I resided then, and told to fill an indemnity form and the fund was reversed. You are lucky to have gotten transaction notifications, the THIEF that did mine then was very smart, disabled my SMS and email alerts, I got to know when I visited the bank 3 days after he made the transfer, luckily for me,if was transferred to a gtb account.

I don't know what is happening to GTBank these days. That was how someone was using my account to do online transaction. I lost N14,000 in less than 5 days. I had to rush down to the bank and instructed them to block my card. I think some GTBank accounts have been compromised, mine inclusive.
You are very correct. It happened to me too, someone used mine on UBER. I lost N103,000 in a day.

I dey wonder even if I wan order taxi, where I wan go wey I go use N103,000.

My account was almost cleared. I saw the alerts and called in immediately and the account was blocked. But before then quite a huge sum has gone out of the account to another GTBANK account. This is why I'm surprised. Please reply my pm let's team up and see how to get our money back. It's too painful. I think Gtbank is under cyberattack.
thank God i don't do business with them

When he's not dasuki[/quotel]i worked with someone in a bank who i later saw in the newspapers. He moved 3m from a customers. The man only noticed 3 months later. Some people wrould not notice as they have money in abundance. I have seen where a bank IT staff and a telecoms staff dis collabo and stole s customers money. Disabled his alerts and network. In 2015 some IT staff of a bank in ibadan moved money from federal inland revenue account and no one noticed for long. Dont underestimate insiders o

All the investigation has been done and concluded. The person behind the fraudulent transaction is known to them. They told me that the person has a lot of money in his account and that he actually used my money to pay for a business transaction he conducted with someone else

What's wrong with GTB self, and I like this bank so much o. That was how they started some crazy deductions from my account before so I had to pull out all my fund, last year I started banking with them again because of their 737/transfer speed but the new thing now is that my monthly SMS charges kept on increasing.
Last month it was #180 and im sure this month will be #250, Is this normal?.

stop sending your email to anybody. goto a nearest police station and make your report. you have been scammed. you also have the right to sue gtbank since you are a customer. stop sharing your phone number nor email to nairalanders, you can be scam through that means
