This is a way of getting people to work harder on themselves.
These are the titles any man can attain.

1. Newbie( 0-500 points)
2. Rookie(501-1000 points)
3. Enthusiast ( 1001-1,500points)
4. Skilled Worker ( 1501- 2000points)
5. Professional (2001- 2500points)
6. Master ( 2501- 3500points)
7. Instructor (3501- 4000 points)
8.King of the road ( 4501- 5500points)
9. Divine Champions (5501- 7000 points)
10. Legend- (7000-infinity)

Although we are looking for a better way of doing it, we will consider two things to get a point- Front page worthiness and Popularity.

1. When a story hits Front Page it gets 100 points.
i

2. Popularity will only determined in the following manner.
a. There are 32 post per thread on Nairaland, that implies 32 comments, whether the Author's or any other person's.
b. each post is 1/2 or 0.5 points.

Therefore if a person has five pages thread,on Nairaland that means 6 pages because the first page is '0'.

Note
You can drop names of Authors

This will take a month and will be reviewed the next three months.

All literary work- write-ups, story, poem

Suggestions Needed.

Without BiafranBushBoy, the list is Useless,

Re: Literature Section Popularity Ranking by Nobody: 9:04am On Mar 05, 2017
It would only be necessary for a writer to secure universal popularity if imagination and intelligence were equally distributed among all men.” — W.H. Auden

[...]

I find all of this rather superficial and hollow. This merely confirms and, sadly, further perpetuates the pitiful and insidiously vile practice that seems de rigueur in this post-postmodern epoch. And that is none other than the cruel imposition of a more superior valuation on popularity and fad than on quality and ingenuity.

Popularity should never be the yardstick in arbitrating any piece of literature, and it most certainly should not be the benchmark in any of the facets of human endeavour. In following this popularity trend is the also the major reason why the Nigerian music industry is an eyesore... or an earsore if you will.

To prove how misleading and irresponsible it could be to arbitrate based on how popular something or someone is, I'd like to squeeze in an analogy.

–Now, imagine the painting of Michel Angelo's “The Last Judgement” were to somehow be scrapped off the walls of the Sistine Chapel so as to be put on public display for a crowd teeming with a hundred illiterate Danfo drivers and only two lettered Sunday historians. The odds are that the vast majority of that ensemble would be unable to apprehend and appreciate the emotive and artistic fathoms of the said painting.

So, can we then in all clear conscience pontificate that because the unschooled demographic of Danfo drivers are/were incapable of recognising and appreciating a brilliant work of art (or literature as the case may be), that it goes a long way in undermining the artistic/literary integrity of the painting/writing in question? I most certainly do not believe so.

[...]

Quality, not popularity, must always serve as the quantification metric in all spheres of life. And that is why I am nominating “Skarlett”.

sure, they can to an ordinary person with no indepth understanding and flow...
Poetry is for men who sees and know the end from the begining.

I as a person value poetry to fictitious and fabricated tale writing....

Only real life tales should be ranked aside poetry.

Re: Literature Section Popularity Ranking by panpan(m): 2:06pm On Mar 05, 2017
Some have stated that popularity does not necessarily mean quality. They may be right. However, this does not mean that popularity should be ignored.

Front page worthiness is dependent on the moderator, which is a bit subjective. Points should not be awarded for this.

The individual stories should be rated first, then attributed to the author. Otherwise, author A may write twenty wack stories and accumulate 7,500 points whereas author B may write one bestselling novel and get 6,500 points.

Though both questions are relative
But whether you aim high or love to grow everytime, it is still a way of outgrowing someone

Why must what I do be in relation to someone else?
Can't i just want to do something because of my creativity and not to outsmart someone?
Why do I get the idea you love competitions?
And that winning matters more to you than achieving?
Forget friend, I have no interest in a life that must strive to be better than another.
