This shows the limitations of technical analysis although it can be a brilliant tool. Most times it is REACTIVE and may not necessarily be PROACTIVE. smiley

Challenged by this query to let people know that technical analysis is a "PROACTIVE" and not a "REACTIVE" tool. It all depends on how you use it...

For the next couple of days, I will be showing you how to deploy Technical Analysis Tools to be "PROACTIVE" or LEADING tool.

-As a Technical Analyst, all that is needed are: Price and Volume (RSI, MACD, Moving Averages etc are cosmetics and are simply used as guides!)
-This tool can be used on any financial market
-I am not saying, you'll always be right, but over 75% of the time you can forecast correctly the market direction with the right technical tools
-My objective is to help people start to make money/reduce how people loose money in the financial market

Start with the basics...

-A price bar indicates: the Open, High, Low & Close

-What is a Swing High or Swing Low?
A swing high is formed when the high of a price is greater than a given number of highs positioned around it. In my own case, I have a swing high as soon as we have a high surrounded by 1 Lower-High on the right & left sides.

A swing low is formed when the low of a price is lower than a given number of lows positioned around it. Similarly, I have a swing low when there is a low surrounded by 1 Higher-Low on the right & left sides.

Combination of these Swing Highs/Lows give the direction of the market... (to be continued)

Image 1: shows price bar
Image 2: Shows Swing high & low. Orange circle is on the Swing High/Low surrounded by 2 red circle bars

GOOD TRADING IDEAS TO MAKE MONEY ON NSE

1. Stocks with new 52 week lows (as reported by Intendy & fxuser)
-Plot stock(s) on your chart
-If stock(s) indicate +ve divergence on RSI or MACD Histogram (Good Buying candidate)
-Wait until MACD Line crosses MACD-Signal to buy
-Apply money management that works for you

2. Stocks with new 52 week highs (as reported by Intendy & fxuser)
-Plot stock(s) on your chart
-Wait for price to pullback to a "value zone" (Good Buying candidate)
-Apply money management that works for you
-Value Zone varies: (20EMA/50EMA etc)

What moves the Market?

A member of this forum just asked me a question, "what really moves the market?"

My answer to this question is FUNDAMENTALS moves the market; economic policies, companies quarterly financial reports, war, peace, dollars, crude oil, key personality in the country/company making guiding speech, buyers/sellers sentiment, Market Makers etc

Why then using Technical?
TECHNICAL Analysis helps you to know when to enter the market (when the odds are in your favour) and when your welcome is no longer needed in the market (exit fast)!

As a Technical Person Do I need to know Fundamental?
Not exactly. It's good I'm aware of it. It will help me focus on the particular sub-market of the entire market. The chart tells me all about fundamental.

Like they say...Use Fundamentals for Stocks Pick..but Use Technicals for when to enter or exit....but then bear in mind that

You are absolutely correct. As a swing trade, it is ripe for entry between 0.81 - 0.82 & let it runs for next few weeks. The only risk is the much awaited coy results

Inside recessions, there is also stock market inclination. And in every economy buoyancy, stock market declines. It all has to do with the understanding of what is called MARKET STRUCTURE.

Value zone is relative. Some use 20 EMA, 50 EMA... any EMA that you're comfortable with will be good.
