I initially don’t want to comment on here about the moniker @SURGEE post, but I’m unable to keep quiet seeing many fumes it has generated. Let me start by saying this; I don’t think anybody should jeered when he/she shares whatever believe that has worked for him/her. But I believe this is a public forum where nobody is compelled to either accept or comment on anyone’s post. If you don’t believe in whatever has worked for Mr.A, just read or better still ignore his/her post and move on with your life! Whatever the moniker @SURGEE has posted, if it does not work for you, or you seem not to find whatever information you’re looking for inside his/her post (S.O.P, L.O.I, strategy,…whatever!) it is either you post your question/problem and wait for whoever has contribution to it to come and attend to it. What you’re not seeing inside a post you’re condemning may be the saving grace of even an un-born child aspiring to study in Canada. Part of communication etiquettes demands you understand your audience. We have Christians, Muslims, atheist etc here. When evangelizing & testimony sharing, the motive is to win souls and build our faith in God.To the quoted text; the fact that we have other religion practitioners on this thread does not mean that one should not be able to come out boldly to attest to what has worked for him/her or the faith he/she has acted on and worked for him/her. If you’re are an atheist or traditional worshipper or whatever/whoever you worship or are, you’re very welcome to share what works for you and let whoever wants to believe do; and whoever does not want to, should pass by. I see no lack of communication etiquette in what the said moniker posted. He has neither insulted anybody or any belief nor shut anybody from coming to share his/her idea or belief. I share your opinion. Reading through his post all I kept on wondering was how he structured his research proposals. But I didn't see none of that , all I saw was have faith. To the bolded, i will still say that if you’re really particular about what you need and you’re not seeing it, rather than engaging in criticism, why not asked the person directly by quoting him/her? If there’s anything you’d like to know that’s not in his/her post, ask politely!, or better still send a p.m to the moniker. Please and please, it’s a VERY BAD idea when we try to shut people up for sharing what they believed in and has worked for them. I know of some monikers that has left this thread due to criticism to the believe which I know if they’d been, many people would have benefited from them. Lesson 1 clearly find out from your potential supervisor, his or her willingness to supervise you before applying. Don’t ever dwell on just their interest, let them state it on the mail they send to you that they want to supervise you.People keep saying the moniker does not share tips, what about the quoted? It is so dis-heartening to see how some people read/listen to pick fault rather than learn. The said moniker @SURGEE gave so many tips that aided his success story but yet some people will still not see because they’re hell-bent on criticizing his belief. Well I will just highlight few of those tips he shared not because of those who are unable to read and digest his post, but for those who will benefit later PERSISTENCE AND PERSEVERANCE. So I geared myself up to resume sending mails to prospective supervisors but many did not respond. Most of those who responded said they weren’t interested or aren’t accepting graduate students for now. As a Naija boy i had to move on, no shaking!!...i stated checking out other schools and even if it’s a Meng I want to apply to, I try as much as possible to secure a supervisor first hoping that this should be easy for the supervisor since I wouldn’t be engaging in intense research than just a final year project. Lesson – Anything is possible, keeping fighting for what you believe in even if you don’t have the resources at hand…Call those things that are not as though they were. Lesson: When failure arises in your quest for success, see it as a process to your breakthrough……Failure makes the testimony sweet!!HAVE ALTERNATIVES/ BACK-UP PLANS. Being discouraged by these responses,
I decided to start looking for MEng opportunities which were course based.NEVER GIVE UP YOUR DREAMS Lesson: When failure arises in your quest for success, see it as a process to your breakthrough……Failure makes the testimony sweet!!We all know that NOTHING WORKS FOR A LAZY MAN, but if we can be honest with ourselves, I believe that the said moniker @SURGEE has put more effort and done so much before he got what he got. If he had been lazy, he would have been discouraged ever since considering the money and the waiting period put into the whole process. Whoever deserve commendation should be commended while we put aside our religious differences. He spent his money, time effort… and many more before he can get all this. Do you even know what it means for your “letter of intent” to interest some professors let alone accepting to supervise you? If you don’t know, I advise you start trying out or asked people who got has gotten and about their waiting experience and stress they went through before securing one. P.S- I wouldn’t be around to entertain any form of argument on issues raised about my post, and my post is not meant to point out or call out anybody. Thanks. |

petlaz:If you are working, you should add it. It is not COMPULSORY however but necessary depending on your case as presented in your study permit application. Any activity you claim should be proven with documentation. If work is your current activity, then it will be advisable you add the payslip. |

From Obalende, enter BRT bus and tell the bus driver that you're stopping at third Round-about. After stopping, cross to the other side of the road and enter through the gate to the estate.VFS office is just two minutes from the gate and the building is located on your left hand. Ask anybody around there, and the building will be pointed to you. cabalocracy: |

Eraytee:I believe employment can be proven by presenting other documents like employment letter, letter of introduction or even his account showing the said transfer of money (salary) from his employer. Since he doesn't have payslip, he must look elsewhere to prove employment. |

Eraytee:Austinpee4, I have a deed of assignment where myself, the seller and a laywer signed to show the exchange of the piece of land. Isn't that enough? I haven't had time to go change the documents in my name. If they do background check , they would see the seller's name and he prepared the deed of assignment that I want to use. Isn't the deed of assignment powerful enough to take care of all these? Cc Yemdogg, penitential, folaroyal etc |
