You should be angry, it's a rude reply. I say thank you to a Nigga I friendzoned just to be polite instead of telling him the truth which is I don't love you. To my man, I wouldn't dream of it. I love you more baby is the only acceptable reply to him.

It all depends on the kind of feelings you have for that person...but in order to sound polite,I LOVE YOU TOO should be appropriate.
