i am not the op but God bless you for this
extremelygolden:

You can't give up now. No, you can't! The light at the other end of the tunnel must shine - for you and for all those whom life has weighed down. This hard time must pass, ok? Suicide is never an option and you are not permitted to commit it.

Now tell me, how are you going to pay your mother for all her love and sacrifices if you do it?

How are you going to prove to the world that God is still in the business of answering prayers and turning situations around if you take your own life?

I mean how will you face God if you go earlier than He has proposed for you?
You must live to share your testimony with us.

I pray God to locate you, favour you and grant you that which you have been asking Him - that very lucrative job.

Don't you ever give up, dear.

Whilst wasting all those years since you finished school in search of job that is nowhere, what happened to enrolling in a skill acquisition center?

The problem with us in this country is that, we carry about a delusional mentality that made it seem like once you are a graduate, your chances of landing your dream job is 90%, which is actually not true. Even 5% of graduates in the country hardly get the job. And even that 5% are those that are strongly connected and not just connected. We seriously need to change this mindset.

The point is, what happened to having a skill as your PLAN B?

Maybe you are just as lazy as your dad and other relatives are calling you.
sometimes we sound like its easy, do you know this guy to assume he is lazy? didnt you read of his certifications? dont forget we are not all wired the same way? maybe he is better off employed than a hustler but that dont mean his lazy. you cant see someone clearly sounding suicidal and this is you advice to him... Not fair bro... not fair

This is a kind of story that is typical of a Nigerian graduate. I have been giving advice here on nairaland for quite some time. But I noticed that most youths just brush aside many of the advice and continue chasing shadows. When one feels like commiting suicide, then it is time to look elsewhere. There is always something good out there which will help you out. You need to change the focus. Maybe you have been looking at the wrong direction. To call a spade a spade, you might not get a job in this present day Nigeria. I don't need to tell you the reason, I think it is obvious. My advice now is this:

Start or do a business (There are some that do not involve money. For example making money online with your skills on sites like fiverr etc). There are many threads that have dealt with this making money online with your skills on nairaland but youths will just brush those aside as if it is nonsense. I have a thread where I discussed varying business ideas and all that. It is a thread which has been functional since 2013 and up till date, very relevant. I made a best-selling ebook out of this which is available for download online. Visit the thread here: https://www.nairaland.com/1163912/funds-not-business-actually-need

Secondly, I will advice that you broaden your horizon...Travel out of the country! There are countless threads on the travel section of nairaland where you can get advice and all that. I also made a mobile app to this effect. It contains the right information you need at this time. The app is available for download online (Not free for obvious reasons). I believe, this is a mobile app that all Nigerian youths should have on their phone. For example, Canada government needs skilled workers to come into Canada to settle down and they do this through the Express entry program. You can see threads about this in the travel section but Nigerian youths seeking unavailable jobs will not go there. The travel abroad app contains all the information you need, straight to the point (For example Canada Express Entry, Australian immigration programme, and educational sites where to study abroad; Germany, Canada, Norway, South Korea etc). You can read some of my old threads here: https://www.nairaland.com/3564483/jobs-not-coming-why-dont

You're full of negativity in all your write ups here. Your problem is you want it big and if not big job, nothing else goes. Bro, keep certificate aside and be humble with little jobs to keep u busy. We all did bricklayer work after school when job was not forthcoming and we never for one day thought of suicide. With all the professional courses u have with u, your problem now is ego and pride to stoop low and look for daily pay while waiting for the major one. Two of my friends working in oil company as big boys today were all sent SMS to resume work from the site we were mixing cement as labourers. They had more professional certificate than u and are even married with kids but for one day we are full of joy and happiness. maybe your Dad call u lazy cos u can't do anything to feed or transport sef. Wake up and drive keke if possible. You need to see how we drag cement with and concrete during babo work. Humble your self and pretend like u never went to school and keep applying secretly. Humility is what u lack from my observation

Dude, WTF!.. Why such a response.. Seriously, I m tempted to serve u something similar, but I won't, cos it's immaturity.,bro.. The op whom I quoted, understands perfectly and replied accordingly like a sane person, i d suggest u read through again before quoting, I believe u ll understand better afterwards.

Fellow country men. It's with a broken heart I write this today. Consider this an SOS. I don't want to die of depression in this country. Somebody should please help me with a job. I am a masters degree holder in environmental technology from FUTO. I haven't been able to nail down a job in this country since 2012. I hope a kind soul will help me and not mock me. 09027846955

No one it's easy. It's never easy, but one needs to start somewhere. You can't just start from the top without bypassing one challenge or the other. I used to carry about this mentality of "once you're a graduate, a mouthwatering job automatically awaits you". This wishes hardly come to pass and the more reason why we need to map out our future clearly just in case things go sour.

you cant see someone clearly sounding suicidal and this is you advice to him... Not fair bro... not fair

Apply to Alabi to be a bet9ja agent.. coz this country is getting worse... they told us yo get masters, yet nothing.... go to church and pray, pray ooooo, nothing.... wat next??

Alabi's business needs to be set ablaze....with time, this poorly regulated gambling, coupled with the very hard economic situation in the country, would destroy persons, relationships and families. Gambling would lead to plenty of suicide eventually!

You are not alone.

Here is my own story.

I thought there was hope in sight when I applied for a grant via twitter. I was not chosen, but someone asked me if I have a business plan. I replied him and later checked his profile to see he works for a senator as an aide.
He dropped an email where I would send the business proposal. I did and crossed my fingers waiting patiently the day I would check my email to see good news.
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. Nothing positive entered my email. I decided to contact him privately on facebook, I told him if he can help me out with any token at least to start something.
He asked me about my location and I did give him an answer. That was the end of his replies.
Is my location the reason why he suddenly no longer replies?
I have decided to leave my fate to God. Heaven knows I have tried. undecided

is the application for the grant still on?

Easy bro.
I understand what you are passing through but I wont let it mar my future. It is a bend, not an end.
I will advise you to use this opportunity to pursue your passion and forget the job issue, it will come definitely.
See, if you kill yourself, Nigeria will continue but the country needs you. What you are passing through is called waiting period. It will come to pass. You can go and volunteer for NGOs, it may sounds stupid but I enjoyed it.
Your Breakthrough is Not on the WAY, it is at the DOOR.
