Na only amateurs Waka come this night, but I know this one sha. cool

You are good, those are the only names that appear on appt confirmation sheet.

uote author=olu101 post=57334179]Good Morning House,

I trust everyone is good.

MY CONCERN:
I only have my Surname and First name on my appointment confirmation sheet - is that a problem?? I didn't put my middle name....However, I think the section only state first name (not "given names"wink and Surname alone when filling it out.

Please do anyone know if that section is first name or given names (which however include middle name?)

Please i want to know if this wont be a problem at the embassy or was i right with the information provided?

I look forward to your answers.

Thank you and God bless.

Please i need your advice, i have sent an email to the embassy to notify them of my intention to give birth in U.S but no response, i have even sent a reminder on that account. How long does it take for them to reply? Though will be going with my son to apply for visa, dont knw if that will serve as a notification.

Obviously you must be new here. Letters of intent are not read or acknowledged by the US embassy... essentially they are a waste of your time. You should inform the embassy of your intention to have a child in the US at your interview. Make sure you take correspondence from your doctor and show proof that you can cover the expenses. You should be good.

This information is not correct. The need to inform the embassy about your change of intent always comes after you have gone for your interview and/or already have your visa. So which interview again are you referring to?

If you send the email to LagosNIV@state.gov you will get a reply. It usually comes in this format after a couple of days...(This is what you print as evidence).

Thank you for your inquiry.

Please note that there is no legal requirement to inform us that you are seeking to give birth in the United States or that your purpose of travel has changed. The Customs and Border Protection, a branch of USCIS, determines a traveler’s eligibility of entry to the U.S, you should be prepared to demonstrate to the immigration officer at the port of entry why you are seeking medical treatment and that you have logistical and financial plans for the treatment. You should show the border protection agents upon arrival in the U.S. your detailed birth plan, which would include correspondence with your doctor, the cost of the delivery, any receipts showing prepayments for care and evidence that you have the ability to pay for all costs while in the U.S. up to and including your living expenses.

We recommend that you review the regulations on non-immigrant aliens entering the United States for purposes of childbirth at https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/882/~/visit-the-u.s.-while-pregnant-and-the-risks-involved and plan accordingly. Please you should not stay in the U.S. longer than you are permitted by Customs and Border Protection at the port of entry. The Department of Homeland Security at the port of entry will determine your eligibility to enter the United States on any travel.

If you choose to give birth in the U.S., we advise you to bring evidence of payment, both when you enter the U.S. on this visit, and at your future U.S. visa interviews.

Sincerely,

It is obvious you did not read her post which i quoted, in any detail at all. According to her, she is intending to go with her son to apply for a visa, which last i checked, requires a visa interview. I reproduce her quote here in its entirety:

In addition, if you've paid any attention to what the VOs have been saying here for months, a change of intent letter after obtaining a visa is a complete waste of time. Please read here - https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening/176#56565515

There were not delays. atleast at JFK that I know of yesterday and a first timer. They only delays were that of the airline not getting to JFK as slated.

In addition, If you read my post on my experience at Houston POE, you will see that the reply I received about my change of intention from the US embassy, just last month (May 2017) also saved the day for me.
Then again, what do I know really, I just have itchy fingers.

Since you obviously know more than the VOs - https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening/176#56565515

Feel free to argue with them.

I think misinforming people is telling them that it is ok to lie at visa interviews and then send in a letter of intent. Just because 1 of 1,000,000 applicants got a reply does not mean that is standard procedure.

In my opinion, all I've read here and people's experience, this forum has being very educative and affirmative about how to truthfully go about your visa application and interview process.
If you read carefully the experience that people share lately, you will notice that people's orientation about lying during these processes have changed.
The forum has succeeded in dissuading people here who care to listen from going for their interview with the intention to lie about their pregnancy status.
In my view, if some of us sent or are planning to send a letter of Intent, it is most likely because we made a honest mistake or took a late decision that we do not what to hunt us down or tarnish our image and also to maintain our integrity.
I also think the reply we get from the embassy though generic, its a direct response to our inquiry and suffices as evidence that you try to correct the 'intended misrepresentation', and I must agree with you, it isn't and shouldn't be 'standard procedure'.
Just my 2cent.

@Twoods.

Please stop misleading people. I just came back from the US leaving my wife behind to have our baby.

My firsthand expereince;

Before the trip, I sent a letter of intent to the US Consulate and got the usual response.

At JFK POE; once the CBP officer took my wife's finger print. He told my wife that it was a good thing she already sent a letter of intent to the US consulate notifying them about her intention to give birth in the US. He was very pleased and stamped us in without further questions.

We were both surprised the information was actually recorded in the system.

We are all adults. Please leave people alone to do what suits them and what they can defend. You live in the US and don't know what travellers encounter just to cross the US border.

Do you really have problem with people coming to the US?
