you don't need to rely on the government for electricity if you can afford to install Solar-UPS. The new polycrystaline solar-panel (SP) connected together amounting to 4KW is capable of dispating 2.4KW in due sun light of 10,000 lux (i.e early morning sun light). In practical terms, when this is connected to an inverter of 5KVA, it can power a 2HP pump and many other electronics. Nevertheless, the SP gain its max. power between 10am to 5:45pm. Between this period, the SP increases its power than the initial power during early morning - it can however run perhaps two 2hp pump (or 2 AC) and other applience.

NB:Gel battery cell is needed to store up electrical charge

Advantages
-Power is always free
-Makes little or no noise
-It doesn't release gas
-Little or no maintance is needed, until after 5yrs when the battery is due for replacement; 25yrs for th SP

Disadvantage
-It's expensive to install
-Efficiency varies with the rate of sunlight

Osagie is my name. see my signature for installation

I just move to this neighbourhood in Gbazango Area of Kubwa and the light situation is one of the worse in Nigeria. We get as low as 2 hours of electiricity in the morning and 2 hours at Night.

Surprisingly, the adjoining areas like Federal Housing, Dantata Estate, other parts of Kubwa, Dutse Alhaji and even the closest which is Arab Road enjoy almost 24 hours of Light.

All entreaties to @PHCNnigeria to atleast reconnect the Area which has been regarded as kubwa village to the 33 KVA line which Arab Road uses has fallen on deaf hear. Someone please help me get the attention of @tundefashola to come to our aid.

I lived in Kubwa also Last year and the light situation was worse. If the light doncome on, it will b so low, it won't b able to power even yhe tv.

You stayed in the wrong parts of Ibadan. I have never lived anywhere in Ibadan with less than 20hrs power supply per day. Formerly Bashorun, then Ashi (Osu Naira Express), Aerodrome Estate etc. Don't even let's start talking of Akobo wink
