1. Cost of single room self-contained is around 20,000 cfa to 50,000 cfa / month at average areas. And 50,000 cfa above in Rich neighborhood per month.

www.afribaba.ci/abidjan

2. Cost of living is cheap. Food is the cheapest. A standard meal of ivoirian 'tchep' plate is 600 cfa (250 naira). including drink. but expensive meals at big places are still below 1000 naira to 1500. you can buy Atiéké (the ivoirian dish everybody must eat) at as low as 200cfa thats not up to 100naira. Ivorycoast is the 2nd largest producer of Fish in Africa after Morocco.

Transport is cheap. they have different transportation system. Taxi (orange coloured genreal taxi) and other colours depending on the region. Bus sotra (mon bus) you can get any where with sotra bus with 200cfa/60 naira. anywhere! just look for the number of the commune you're going to (you will know the numbers of each commune when you get to Abidjan.

I need your help pls... I will like you to help me find the cost of 20 litres of red oil in ivory coast . I.e 10k cefas, 14k cefas etc. I will also like you to help find the price of palm kernel in ton. I heard cote d ivoire is the only country in Africa that export cheap palm products, so I think they should have cheap oil for manufacturing there.... Thank you very much as I await your response.

Bienvenue frere, je suis Rasheed la Nigeria. I have already made up my mind for coming to Abidjan soon and I am very good business marketer currently in oil and gas marketing and computer information technology marketing.. My information technology business is more about selling of computer parts and accessories which I intend to come a start up a branch in Abidjan, and the most important thing I thought of my travelling is because of lack of forex to move my information technology business line.. I thought if I am able to travel to Abidjan I will be able to use Abidjan visa or master card to purchase online through eBay using PayPal, please can this be possible? How is the rate of engine oil importation and exportation in Ivory cost per say.. If I can't use ivory cost bank cards on international pos for purchase my travelling won't be necessary then and can I be able to get a studio one room immediately upon my arrival that will cost 40,000cfa?. I am currently learning French on my own, because I am fast learner.

I am a very young talented person with a lot of business idea and a good marketing analytic skills.. But I don't believe in dirty business, because there is no gain in cheating.. @ugosample @ify----- @everyone_Abidjan_please react.. Contact me through mail or drop me a what'sapp number to my mail.. lilrash4real@yahoo.com..

Merci.

@Inconnue are you still in Abidjan or whoelse can help? I came into Abidjan on Sunday 26th March and just realised I forgot my Gold Card in Lagos. I have settled my hotel bills prior to coming but requires cash just for petty purchases.

Who can help with CFA while i transfer Naira on the spot.

Thanks

How much are we talking about here?

Based on that, we'll know whether indeed it is risky to carry such amount of money.

anybody reading this from here should keep in mind that Nigeria is very cheap and if and when going to a west African country most especially Ghana, Côte d ivoire, Burkina, you can make profit selling there..

as a first starter and you are not so sure of what you are going to do there, and maybe you do not want to be cash-trapped, buy phones( iPhone, big android phones), laptops, video games( ps2,3,4).. even if this is one, two or three hardwares you buy from Nigeria. This is good actually so that you can save yourself from carrying cash, changing money which you can run at a loss due to scams or the present value. etc... keep in mind that this hardware items bought would be sold at a good price there.

when you are there, go online, find their major classified ads website like olx, check out the pricing ,if you feel you can post ad, this would be good. or go to their major markets like oshodi, idumota .. when you are there, ask and see whom you can sell your items quickly to, you will still make a profit compared to the price you bought it in Nigeria or try to sell it yourself physically.

now, after such sales , this would give you insight of how business can be run, what are the things you can do to sell big...

note: this is for guys or girls who don't know what to do when travelling to d countries I mentioned above.

from the beginning of the thread, people talk about things been expensive.. someone said something about coke been expensive there.. you can actually buy plastic coke or can coke in Nigeria or Togo and transport there.. just do your calculations well, nobody will show you the way unless you think smart..
