Today 06/20/2017 at about 12:30 CST, I went to make sevis payment for a friend. On getting to the Western Union agent, I was surprised when he asked if it wasn't a scam after I told him I was to make the payment on behalf of someone in Nigeria.
I explained the whole sevis payment to him but still he wasn't convinced. He asked for my ID and after playing with his computer for some minutes, he told me he couldn't make the payment. I felt embarrassed but I didn't wanna cause a scene, I just walked away and went to another place to make the payment.
I totally understand a lot of "Nigerians" use WU for scam but isn't the coupon and my ID enough proof

No be small thing oo.

Hello, Ticket prices are always going up cos seats are filling up real quick as we approach fall.. You can check up jumia travels or travelstart(not much different from wakanow).
Or you can try Egypt air.. I bought my ticket for N223,197 For August departure.. Allthough you might not be down with the lengthy 13hr layover in Cairo.

I just pray and wish that Egyptian won't do you strong thing and you won't come and give us bad review as soon as you get to US

Not sure how to go about the PM, however, it's a 1 way ticket from Lagos to JFK, most affordable date from 24th to 26th July, 2017.

Thanks.

The USPS express that has tracking number is about $63 and it takes 3-5 business days. How effective? I cant say for now because the i20 is still in transit, but since there is tracking number and the receivers phone number is included, there shouldn't be any problem

USPS can tense to be crazy and give people HBP here in Nigeria.

I can categorically tell you that you are good to go with the result ... but I think you should tell us the course or program you are applying for. but 3.75/5.00 is over 3.23/4.0 US grade scale ..if I am not mistaken !! make the school evaluate am with any calculator you will still make that 3.0 !!

I am in a similar situation, prices of flights are high and rising for ending July and early August, but are much cheaper for this current week. I am at a loss if to book now to beat the rising cost or wait till the week of travel for a potential drop. Gurus in the house, please advice.
@ sirRiddy: please best flight route to Wichita, Kansas?

Is better you book now so that you won't abuse yourself later.

Flight will be increasing bit by bit now till ending of August or early September

1) You can register for GRE as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. You will get adequate materials to prepare for the exam here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0 . Proceed to this thread to learn from people's experience about the exam https://www.nairaland.com/1832477/how-achieve-high-scores-gre/44#39955826
2) Honestly, If I were you I will plan towards Fall 2018, more opportunities open up in Fall because that's the main admission season in the US. However, you can still meet up with spring but everything will be at a rush which doesn't always help you to put in a good application.
3) Nobody knows how to write SOP until they start. It takes about 3weeks-4weeks to write a good worth graduate school SOP, I will upload a good SOP to the link above today or tomorrow. The SOP is just as important as your GRE score and CGPA.
4) In life it is always good to know how to fish than to always ask for fish from a fisherman, learn how to use google for some public knowledge questions. A quick google search would have given you the meaning of LOR. I am not discouraging you from asking questions but always try your best to research about your curiosity first, Infact no excuse for ignorance. LOR is letter of recommendation. Most times, you need 3 LORs from your undergraduate Lecturers.
5) No except you apply to some very low ranked school even at that, your CGPA isn't that great. In summary, go and prepare for GRE to boost your chances of admit and funding. Few things in life are certain, admit and funding isn't one of them but you can only do your part and leave the rest to God.

The following link will help you in chasing your graduate school dream http://graddecision.org/ , www.msinus.com , http://www.msinus.com/content/how-select-universities-ms-us-534/ www.4icu.org

What can I say than to thank you for these wonderful and life shaping advice. May God never cease to abide with you and channel your steps to the right path. Your type is rare to come by. Thanks a bunch.

Most of them don't even know anything about Sevis and when you mention paying on behalf of someone in Nigeria; na the RED FLAG be that. I prefer using Postal Money order tho.

Hello House, Visa delay by the Chinese guy @ the Us Embassy today, 6:30am Transcript as follows
VO -good morning
Me -good morning
Vo -why are you going to the US?
Me -to study master degree in educational technology at Missouri state university
Vo -why missouri state university?
Me - Missouri State University offers student in my course opportunity to experience and tutor in a real classroom internship program... Vo cut all schools have intenship
Me- it's classroom internship not all schools vo cut again don't tell me that ...... Then give me blue paper straight
Please house what can u do or say coz I will soon reapply

What is a classroom internship program ? .......

Also the VO is right in the sense that a lot of schools have some form of internship structure so i dont know how you can attempt to want to argue with a VO who has 1. Lived/Schooled in the US and you haven't. 2. Does this for a living and has heard millions of other school requirements .... your follow up statement should have agreed but stated something more unique about the school . So as you reFire your lesson learnt is never argue with someone who knows the system more than you . Find more indept reasons on why that program and hope it goes better the secondtime

Same with people who use student ratio as a reason for picking school. In my mind i am like what is that. But i see it all the time. The US has rules and structure so u wont see 300 student to 1 teacher like naija , its a standard across all.schools and doesnt make a school different

At bold potential drop in peak summer period and when loads of students are resuming is highly unlikely. ...... Instead it would be way more expensive buying a last minute or week of travel ticket
