Hi bro,
Please apply for masters in your bsc program and once you get admitted, apply for your trv without including your family. Your wife can join you under SOWP.
You can switch to bsc program in nursing in the premises that you can no longer cope with prog and other legible reasons you can give. When you switch to bsc, you can then apply for study permit extension.
I have a friend whi couldn't cope with the msc prog as he bsc in Nigeria didn't adequately prepare her to face the hurdle of msc in Canny and she eventually switched to bsc. SO, IT IS POSSIBLE, but to avoid story that touches, get your trv first with a masters program.
Best wishes.
OMG....U SUCH AN AMAZING HUMAN BEING....GOD BLESS U SO MUCH FOR THIS....THANKS

I totally get your point boss.

Yea, you can.

Have you checked other unis that have a more robust program im comp sci with possible research interests in cloud computing/big data?

I am saying this because, it will be worth the while to go for a full msc especially with your qualification rather than get denied by the VO for "purpose of visit".

No vex, I just dey try talk wetin me I go do smiley.

That said, if you.present a thorough application, you should get your trv.

Thanks Bro, much appreciated.

I was refused a US visa in 2005 even though my dad was the principal applicant. So I explained to CIC telling them I wasnt the principal applicant then and because I was just 13 years old then, I didnt know the implication was that the refusal affected me too cause my dad included the whole family when he was applying.

Thanks for the reply. Was any lawyer or professional involve in forming the letter?

Well noted, thanks. Since I have 14 years work experience in Sales and Marketing and I am the owner of my company. I strongly feel I should apply for Master in Sales and Marketing Management. Is this decision okay?

It is okay. Like someone mentioned, you should also consider the express entry route.

My Chairman,

Thanks i really appreciate, like u said i have been doing some research on the school (Lambton), i realised they have Cloud Computing for big data which is basically 80% of what i do at work, but its Graduate Studies not Msc and i graduated 2014 First Class Comp Sci British degree, did my NYSC 1 Year and got my present job as data analyst around July 2015...i'm i good to go with my visa application with a pgd offer in Cloud Computing.

Cheers.

I hope you are truly rich to afford PGD fees and upkeep. If not, you have enough GPA to get full funding/scholarship, but may have to wait till next year. If you truly can't afford fees and upkeep, I 100% advise you wait, strategize and apply for master program that will give you 100% scholarship.

You have struggle to get a first class. Don't have that and still suffer because of you're impatient. All the best.

(1) Is it doable? Yes (by being truthful from application for admission to trv application). Is it possible to get it? Yes... Will it be difficult ? Yes, extremely difficult.
You have to be sure that nursing is what you want, not just because of travelling but because it is going to be worth your while. While applying, you have to include your total education history without leaving anything out and explain your reason for this career switch.

(2)Apply alone, if you get the trv, your wife can apply for a SOWP later. Applying with her especially when you guys are newly married might lead to refusal of your trv. Applying alone gives you a kinda hometie.

(3)As a side note, since you have a.bsc in.statistics/comp sci...why not apply for a masters in statistical machine learning? It is a combination of statistics, computer science and certain aspect of medicine(depending on where you choose to focus on).

Well thats my opinion...

Bosses @Austinpee4, wealth360 and my ogas them, what do you guys think?
I think exactly what you think and thes would have been my sentiments too.

one other thing to note @douglaseguakun is that your AGE is going to play a major role in both being admitted for a bsc program and applying for a study permit with a bsc program.

So like most people have advised, get your study permit using a master degree and when you get to canada, you will have opportunities to study and do what you so desire.

If you insist on applying for a bachelor's degree in Canada even though you have one already in Nigeria, be prepared with a cogent and persuasive reason to provide to the school and VO. Many people do this, this is not entirely foreign. It wont mean you have to spend another four years of school to get the second degree. Two more years of studying will get you a second degree in the area of study with the basic prerequisite to go on to the nursing program graduate studies you desire. This is a totally thought out and reasonable proposition you have. Nursing is a very attractive field of study. You should explain this career change to the VO. Perhaps you might explain that a death in the family or the permanent incapacitation of a family member(s) or friend(s) gave you new appreciation for the field of nursing. Go with your guts if you really want to go for a second bachelors. Schools are very cognizant of that. I graduated from university in the United States at 26 years old. There was a 78 year old woman in my class who was our valedictorian and the chosen commencement speaker for our class. Apparently, when we were spending our time playing, this woman understood the value of education and studied her heart out to get better grades than us. Age is no factor in the admission process, except you going to a military school-- in keeping faith with the Canadian government's anti discrimination policy. I do not know how age will play out with a VO once any lacuna period or gaps in education are well documented and sufficient home ties are shown. I think you can totally sail through this, have no fear!! Good thing you asking a year ahead, gives you time to strategize.

You are wasting more time. Go ahead and apply as soon as possible.

13 weeks average processing time in Nigeria. You are most probably not going to make it. But apply and if you don't make it, defer the admission to winter, spring or fall. Good luck

that girl/lady that called her self, ''blueicegirl'' should know that a forum like this is not a kids-zone as long as VISA is involved here.we don't want unverified information or assumptions but reasonable input in reasonable light. People no long sleep well because of the unexpected delay from CIC in responding to them and you storm in from an unknown angle to chip in unreasonable input to troubled minds. i miss this intellectual bodies on here, (gurus) @yemdogg and @MichV(trv doctor). where are they?

Hi Everyone
So a colleague of mine was refused study permit for Call 2016 and get profile is as follows
Bsc food processing and technology 2002
Work experience: A ground handling company at the airport
PA to the CEO 2005-2010
Manager Sales and Marketing 2010 till data
Sponsoring her self acc with 20000 Cad
Travel history
Us uk and Canada
Married with 2 kids but going alone
Proposed course of study. Integrated Aviation Management

She submitted all docs from birth certificates to employment referrence letters, to house documents, shares certificate and so on.

She applies for gcms notes which states her program of study in Canada is no consistent with previous study or employment history and not satisfied with the P.A. explanation as to why she wants to study it in canada and he is not satisfied the applicant is a genuine student.

My questions are
1. She works in the aviation industry as a marketing person so how is it that it's not related( if she were to be in operations would it be a better relationship)
2. She made a mistake in her application stating tuition as 4500 cad instead of 16500 cad but that didnt come up as a reason for denial
3. If she applies for a marketing course can it be sold?

Thanks in advance

If she changes to marketing, she might be seen as trying to game the system. Doesn't matter usually what you state as your tuition, the VO usually can see that in the school documentations provided for applying for visa. Explain convincingly career change with a well crafted SOP might be better.

Hello house,

I applied on 4th May, online route, I got a mail for biometric capturing almost immediately, which I have since done.
I also didn't do Upfront Medicals, and I haven't received any feedback from CIC on this
I have mailed them, no response.

I checked my account it says, application in process.
Shebi, I can't go and do Medicals at this stage, unless I get a mail from CIC,

House please what do guys

when did you mail them ?

Please is there a maximum period you can defer admission or you can defer as long as you want

Depends on the school, some allow one or two times, some allow none at all. Check with the school.

biko..the well crafted SOP does no magic when things are not in reasonable light. getting another admission in line with her profession/job duties/role will remedy the situation, simple!!! SOP DOES NOT DO MAGIC IF THINGS ARE NOT IN PROPORTION.

Applied Feb 28. Wasn't asked. I paid tuition. Are you sure you quoted the right moniker.

Sorry, I thought you were one of the monikers that received the CIC request to present tuition fee payment, I must have been wrong. Thank you for your reply.

As soon as I finish gathering all my documents I am headed. I am applying for their visa right now. It's only three weeks average processing time there. So sometime in July I will be headed. You guys should not start flooding Cameroun when I become successful ooo. Hahaha. As the African maxim one says, where one dances and gets given money, another one may dance and get the beating of a lifetime. Hahaha. But for real, good luck to everyone. May God see us all through. Question, I live in Jos, Plateau State. Where and how can I get a police clearance or reference? Can I get it at any police station or a specific one. Second question, trying to change land papers and get a deed in my name, from my mother's name. How is this done? Just trying to show home times. Or will also suffice if I left it in my mother's name. Mother not my sponsor, school in Canada is. Thanks in anticipation.
