"Wow. Your house is beautiful." Chantel walked in, looking around the house.
The sitting room alone spoke volumes of how wealthy the Njamas' were.

"Make yourself comfortable please."
They sat opposite to each other while Chantel kept on looking around.

"Who's your interior decorator?"

"Linda Adams. My husband contacted her though."

"Wow. This is a mini eden. I'm impressed."

"Thanks. What do I offer you?"

"Anything hot."

Claire chuckled.

"Yes, your hotship."

They laughed as Claire strode to the bar.
She got back with a bottle of vodka and two glasses.

"Nothing. Like, I'm getting divorced in some days so I'm not bothered."

Claire sipped from the glass of hot liquid and breathed out.

"Why? Listen girl, we live once. People that don't know your story will be the people to judge you. You've got to live up. That you're getting divorced foes not mean you should lock up. Mingle, make new friends, slay on red carpets and most importantly, tell the world that you don't care."

"Chantel, I care. I've always wanted a simple life. I know where I come from so I can't let fame a and wealth get into my head but don't stress, we'll attend the premiere together."

Her face turned to different shades of pink.
They just finished breakfast and he had helped her with the dishes. They had settled to watch a movie when he suddenly got on his knees.

"I love you so much and I would be the happiest man on earth to have you by my side."

He fished out a little box from his back pocket and opened it.
There was a silver ring which glistered under the chandelier.

He looked at her face for answers but got streams of tears instead.
He was about to pull her into his arms when she stretched her left hand, nodding frantically.
He slipped the ring into her finger and they embraced each other.

"I love you." She whispered.

It was the first time she was saying it to him. She was shy and reserved but he loved her so.
He kissed her forehead and hugged her again.
This was it.
He had gotten it all.
He picked his phone from the table and sat up beside Gertrude. It was time to send a picture to Claire.

She looked at Claire again but the woman was busy with her phone and smiling sheepishly.

"Nice to meet you Amara."
Chantel shook her hand, swallowing a urge to punch her face.

"Seriously? Wow!" Claire screamed, looking at the faces of everyone in the room.

"Mike, Kelvin just proposed to Gertrude." She said excitedly.

"Wow. That's one hell of a news. I'll call him right away." Michael said, excused himself and left the sitting room.

"Who's Kelvin?" Chantel asked

"He's Michael's best friend and like a brother to me. But that's not the news. The girl in question was my employee. She quit working here just two or three months ago."

"Wow."

"You see, we had thought he was going to marry Amara here. How was I to know that she had other plans?" Claire shot her sister a look and went back to her phone. "I'm so happy for them. Look how happy they look."

She passed the picture to Chantel.

"Awww. He's cute." Chantel commented.

"Take your eyes off miss. He's taken."

They laughed happily.

Amara hissed and walked out angrily. The house was cursed, if not, why was the odds against her? Nothing she ever plans works out well. She hated it.

This was the best news she'd heard in months. She would upload that picture on Instagram so people would know that her best friend was off bachelorhood.

Claire refilled her glass and downed it all in one gulp.

"Because she didn't insult me. Come to think of it, why didn't you tell me there was someone in the house? I went there and disgraced myself in front of a guest. Do you think it's wise for us to be seen together before the divorce? Do you know what people will say about us? No, you don't."

He picked his phone and left the room

Like what type of punishment for mike?. I hope if calire gets pregnant for Kelvin and gives birth to a baby, get pregnant again from Phil and give birth to a 2nd baby and also get pregnant from maybe their gateman and give birth to a 3rd child, you will still say she should be punished and Michael forgive and they live happily ever after. Men always saying what they can't do if found in the same situation.
