I have personally not been a fan of elaborate weddings, why would I want to feed the entire town ?when the only people important at a wedding are the couple and couple's parents?. I personally prefer indoor traditional wedding and registry, so far there is a good camera man (non negotiable).Then main thing that will determine the estimate will be the items he will be asked to bring for the bride price which will be more than 200k with the way prices have gone up,so I will say a budget of 700k should do for both tradional and registry

I was just laughing while going through the comments. All Nairaland ladies are saints, non-materialistic and are of impeccable behavior.

To avoid spending too much on ur wedding, fix both traditional and white same day and take your wife home. There's life after wedding. The important aspect is the marriage. Wedding is one day, marriage is a life time.

As for the wedding expenses, in my opinion, both parties should contribute immensely. Say 60% 40%. It's our wedding day not the man's wedding. I hate it when some ladies leave all wedding expenses to the husband. If you can contribute, please do. Just don't leave it for him alone.

Ladies can help talk to family members during the traditional wedding cos some families are so greedy that they want to wreck the man because he's marrying their daughter. Women should remember that there is life after wedding. Intervene if you know your family is trying to quiz the last kobo from your hubby.
