Congratulations to you.

Your education point is 15 points. Don't shortchange yourself o.

you can claim point for the education even if ACS did not say anything about it as far it is a 5 years course in a section 2 university or 4 yr course in section 1 university.

No need to assess with Vetasses at all. Don't waste time and money. You only need to do that if your assessing authority says they can not assess your degree and refer you to vetassess. in your case ACS is silent on it.

Please submit another EOI ASAP with 75 points.

Abeg I go need PTE training from you o. grin

ZoeW:
Finally, after what seems like an eternity I have gotten a positive assessment from ACS for ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO 261111). A big thank you to Azy123 and Alphadoor for your help. God bless una!!

I got 20 points from my PTE done 2 weeks ago (after a battle with IELTS) so we are good to go. EOI submitted.

But as we all know in this process there is always one k-leg or the other so house please advice me: Since I went through the RPL route, ACS did not assess my degree, rather the assessed a professional qualification which I have as follows:

Your Certified Information Systems Auditor from Information Systems Audit and Control Association completed October 2014 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a Major in computing.

This gives me 10 points instead of 15. So I have 70 points with a break down below:

Age - 30
English - 20
Experience - 10
Education - 10

Let me inform the house that this ANZSCO code is very competitive and people with 75 points were not invited last round. Do you think I should get my degree assessed by VETASSESS? How long does it take on average? Or should I wait it out till number for this ANZSCO drops? (How long would that take?) Abi to do state nomination? I am just confused right now.

Hoping for ideas guys. Thanks.

It means your file has just been assigned to a CO......he/she will contact you (only God knows when) if u need to supply further document or approve your file for a direct Grant.

Your application status should have changed to ASSESSMENT IN PROGRESS now from RECIEVED.

But this your case get as e be o........Just being assigned CO since May 10. Mine was assign within 3weeks back in March.

This goes a long way to show that GSM processing time has long been prolonged before updating it on their site yesterday. Only God knows what the real current processing time is.

Thanks for your comments Ozymigrant. It is well. I'll be waiting for the grant anytime they are ready.

Meanwhile what's happening to our expectant ITAs. Anybody got yet? its 3.25pm! Please share the good news.

If the trade test is supported by verifiable formal training. She should be able to scale through but I'm a little bit sceptical about the work experience thingy...

For each year of self-employment:
• business registration documents (duly registered according to you)
• relevant trade or business licences (Local government permit should do or beta still get one from her association )
• annual business returns (Get an accounts to draw the business returns)
• statement from a registered/certified accountant if applicable ( She can ignore dis)
• taxation documents citing the name of the business (Get tax receipt from LIRS)

Thanks so much for the info. Its been clarified now by @Lawland that the Nigerian Trade Test Certificate is not assessible.

Hi Azy123, taking this further - do you know if someone who assesses with TRA (as a Baker, using a trade certificate) but also possess a section 1 university degree in another discipline (English) claim points for education as well with DIBP?

So far, what we know is that you can claim education point for your highest qualification obtained in any discipline as far as the point you are claiming is correct according to the AQF equivalent.

Unilag is a Section 1 university, so a 4 yrs course is comparable to AQF.

Let me start by congratulating you on your postitive assessment. I said here sometimes ago that people should do away with ICT business analyst if possible. I saw some information here that I think I need to correct. You cannot claim point for your university degree because it has not been assessed by the ACS. While waiting for my visa I have seen two people been refused for over claiming points. Any qualification not rubber stamped by the appropraiate assessing authority will not be accepted by DIBP. I'll advice you fill an EOI and wait until you get an invite for 189. Alternatively go the 190 route, you will be considered for the first or second invitation rounds by NSW for example. 70 point is such a good point for state nomination. I wish you all the best.

IMO, please research very well on the non accessed B.SC degree points claim before you update tour EOI with, while the excitement of boosting your point is welcomed, you do not want to shoot yourself in the leg also by over claiming.
You took the RPL route because your degree was not related to your occupation.
Am not sure how this works but please do your research very well pls pls ... $3600 no be beans oo..

Meanwhile am sure you can shoot for state nominations while waiting for ITA.
also 70points stil guarantees you an invite but longer waiting waiting based on the competitive nature of the NOC

Please I need your advice.

I am applying for professional engineer (mechanical), and I am about to submit my assessment. I reckoned that the maximum points I can get is 65 (assuming I have 20 points in my PTE, which I will have by God's grace). However, seeing that mechanical engineering is now very competitive, do i still have hope with my points or i should work for two more years so that i can claim 5 points for work experience, as I just started working recently?

Please help, as I don't want to waste money on EA assessment without anything tangible in sight.

Depends on how old you are now. Waiting for 1 or more years might reduce your points by 5 again. So, do your calculations very well

Hmmm.... conflicting information everywhere o! Thanks for the advice sha. I think its better to be safe than to be sorry. I would use the 'diploma' like that.
But is there anyone that has scaled through visa application just using a certificate which was not assessed by any body to claim points for education? It would be good to know 'cos this is a very interesting topic
