After this, you can turn to VETASSESS for a points test advice just to determine that your degree is equivalent to an AQF Bachelors to enable you claim 15 points for education.

To partially quote my earlier input on RPL.

Go to VETASSESS after a successful RPL to get a Points Test Advice.

That way you will not be unsure of what points to claim.

Some persons who are positive enough that they would get a positive assessment from the RPL route take the liberty of doing a PTA at the same time as the RPL.

Yes . you can select 189/190 as shown in the attached.
There is no penalty for mulitple EOI's but once you get desired invite from any of the EOI its good withdraw the others.

Having multiple EOI is to help you maximize your options E.g Just imagine getting a NSW nomination today ... and the next day a 189 nomination, multiple EOI gives you the chance to cancel the 190 and proceed with the 189. but if you received the 190 ITA under same profile, it automatically locks that profile for further ITA and if u decline the ITA, it puts back on the queue after 60 days.

i hope am right though

[/quote

Thanks so much.this has been helpful.so i will just open two seperate eoi based on logistics...189 and 190.cant shout!...no need to put all eggs in a basket.

On a second thought you can even have 3 eoi..one 189 and two 190 for two different territories/states.will play around with the forms while i wait for assesment results

With respect to my earlier post, I got positive reply from EA that I can use only my HND cert and transcript for qualification assessment. Thanx everyone.

Working on my CDR and gathering reference stuff to join our senior colleagues on the moving train.

Please has any one used statutory declaration with 3rd party supporting doc to claim exp points from EA successfully, how did you put them together ? The 3rd option thing in MSA booklet is somehow.
I have obtained reference letter from my former coy, but wouldidn't want to approach my current HR for it for obvious reasons.

Engrs and other senior colleagues in the house do share with me your thoughts.

Plunge already taken since grin that is why I claimed 15 points. That was what I believed to be true but started doubting and fearing when I saw comments. As it is, nothing has changed.

CASE CLOSED. This case was open on this forum and closed before with the same conclusion.

Thanks lawland for the example from experience. If we like we can read all blogs but one single comparable experience helps put the mind at rest.
Thanks NNBB2012 for the info. Alphadoor #5 pt_movement#

Summary for others

As far as you have a positive assessment from an assessing body and the point you are claiming is clearly supported by CEP. the following applies...

1) If you have a positive assessment with one qualification and have another qualification that is higher you can use the higher qualification to claim point.
2) If your assessment authority is silent on the higher qualification - you can claim point for it
3) If the qualification is not related to your occupation - you can claim point for it
4) Even if you complete the highest qualification yesterday - you can claim point for it today

@ZoeW edit your 189 EOI Asap congrat on your ITA in advance grin

Good summary....

Rooneyboy skill level 1 is when your course lasted for 5years your sure of getting positive assessment for any skill with level 1 if you meet other requirements

I assessed as a relationship manager under Insurance broker and got positive assessment because it was a level 2 meaning my course was for 4 years and it equivalent to Australia qualification frame work(associate degree) although few years was removed to meet up for positive outcome .

For skill level 3 you need a diploma or certificate to assess but it doesn't stop you from using your university degree which will give you better edge.

Note that both certificate3 or associate degree level 2 will give you 10point.

I am reassess as insurance agent now as my first assessment is not open for state nomination except Tassy.

Anyone you choose be sure to package your documents not just working with insurance company your position has to be inline with Anzsco.

Other gurus will add just my own thoughts

Please I need your advice, I hold a first degree in public administration from covenant University and been working in a sector not.related to the degree... Journalism for a little over 5 years now.
Journalism is listed as short term skill, and 4 year degree from covenant University is considered an associate degree

I am 33 and from my calculations if I don't get 20 points with Ielts, I could only earn 50 points.

Please what are my chances, would appreciate some reply. Thanks

@Rooneyboy,

I am confused. You initially said you work with federal government and now with a trustfund. What exactly is your experience?

To answer your current question. Uchenna already answered most of it. However, from your profile, your best bet is to assess as an insurance agent with Vetasses. After a positive assessment, seek 489 nomination from Queensland.

Why would you refer to anybody as a "nigga"?

Your friend didn't complete his story. SA sponsors Youth worker only on 489 visa, if the state is really desperate in need of youth workers, it will also be on 190.
Nevertheless, there are jobs in youth work in the state for those who can meet the requirements.

What your friend didn't tell you is that you have to have experience in youth work and not just study psychology. If you have experience in youth work, go ahead with your assessment with Vetasses and seek nomination from SA or Northern Territory.

Why think of studying nursing when you can actually continue with Psychology? Psychology is as lucrative as nursing if not more lucrative sef. Except it is not what you have passion for. You can start your psychology consultancy when you become a clinical psychologist.

Yes brother, I deliberately avoided putting the names in full.
As for the visa type you clearly kicked against visa 489 in page one of this thread that's why I'm avoiding it and eyeing visa 190 strongly .

Visa 190 is available but only in Tasmania.

What can you say about Tasmania ?

Tasmania is a wonderful small state and if you can meet their requirements for 190 check their website for more information. Also note they have high unemployment rate.

If it's me I will go with 489 Queensland as you have better chances of getting a job faster than in Tasmania .

Do more research on your own and make up your mind.

Ok.. 4 of my mates did Advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering here, they assessed their diploma qualification for electrical engineering draftsperson with EA and never mentioned their degrees. They got positive outcome and nothing about their degree was mentioned in the outcome letter. When filling the EOI, they entered their degree as their highest qualification and got 15 points for it. Specifics: one studied a 4 years course in Unilag, the other 2 studied a 5 yrs course from FUTO and one is french and studied in France. They all got their visa granted and no questions about qualification asked. I hope this answers all your questions?

Thanks for this valuable info. Please which AQF equivalency and section is a state polytechnic, Moshood Abiola Poly precisely. Thanks in advance.
