I guess i would have to request the school to send it through dhl can't take any risk at the point...?

Ask them to ship at your expense if it would make things easier. I see they sent you one for free already.

Well not to bad mouth my precious country....but Nigeria is not an organise society and there is a lot of extortion going on sadly ..although there still are a lot of good and trust worthy Nigerians

As for why you were not given the 2 months initally... sure in order to make you pay twice. Is that right nope but it does happen in this side of the world. We have a missing president and we are a developing nation so please bear with us cheesy . I get headache after a week in naija . For answers to your questions, someone in your team needs to liaison with nigerian or US immigration services. That the best source to respond

Well it's been about half and half regarding the number of trustworthy people that I've met and the amount of people trying to scam me. It's pretty messed up but thanks for confirming my fears that I'm pretty much f 'ed in this situation no matter what I do.

Everything you need is on this thread. No need personalized emails: Oya take this:

femi312:
There is this saying that says ''If we don't fight we have failed, but if we fight we can either fail or succeed''. So forget the tuition part for now and put in some work. First, you need to decide on the course you want to study, To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a)www.msinus.com (open this website with a laptop, you should see a list of school and ranking for some of the most common courses, you can start from there b)www.gradschools.com c)www.google.com (you can just type 'msc in bla bla in the us in google' d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find, to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl . 4) Register for standardize exam and take it. You can register for gre as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. You will get adequate materials to prepare for the exam in this dropbox I created https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0

TOEFL is an English test required by some US universities. though, some schools waive due to the fact that Nigeria is an Anglophone country.
For toefl, all you need are the speaking noteful videos in the link below, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/45tvc3ifi8wh8sh/AACXR5j6l3nsWK8vZx5P28TVa?dl=0

As for the Tuition, if you have good results (GRE, GPA, Toefl), SOP and LOR; US schools do offer assistanship to graduate students. This can either be Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Administrative Assistant. Depending on the school, if you get an assistantship, your Tuition will be waived and you will also be paid a monthly stipend that can take care of your living expenses. One advice, once you shortlist schools, send emails to the grad cord of the schools and ask specific questions relating to that course and funding opportunities, be very explicit.

Lastly, there are basically 2 admission session in the US, Spring (Jan) and Fall (August). Schools admit more students in Fall, so Its advisable you plan towards Fall 2018. If you plan to resume in fall 2018, make sure you submit all your application documents before ending of Dec 2017. If you don't give it a trial, you will never know.My philosophy in life is to always do my part, with that I don't get to regret later. Above all, if you believe in God,pray to him..if not, good for you.

If you have any question, drop it here and you should get more than one good answer.

I plan to write my GRE around October. Planning for 2018 admissions. I have contacted some schools and I have an idea of schools I'll be applying to.

I'll appreciate any further advice.Thanks

Virgin island and US is in the drop down menu, you create an account, find your school if they are affiliated and fill the form for fund transfer.
I have attached a sample of a payment receipt made in June. Looking for a better option because the man charged at #400.
OluDare01:

Haha I called them and that's what I was told. I even created an account with them and I couldn't find the US in the drop down menu.
How did you do it?

Just update your profile with the corrected DS160 code and pray you have 3 working days between the update and youR appointment. You then reprint your appointment page that tallies with the ds160 and take to the embassy.
If it doesn't get to three working days even if your profile is updated to tally, it won't tally with their manuscript they have at the checks. You will be turned back to reschedule.

Hi everyone, please if ones I-20 says family funds and doesn't state the name of the sponsor on the I-20 and the statement one sent to the school money has dropped from it, can one use another persons (maybe uncle) statement at the embassy since it wasn't specified or does the embassy know the name you sent to the school that was your sponsor? Like must you use the same persons statement you sent to the school. Thanks

Is your Uncle your family? grin grin grin If yes, he is qualified to sponsor you since the i-20 did not state any specific member of your family whether nuclear or extended. You just simply have to tell the VO who is sponsoring you.

Go to DHL office here in Nigeria they do international pick up tell the school about your plans, so they will give you the address the pickup man can come get it.... also explain to the dhl you want it in like 3days so that last last in five days it will be available...
2) if you know someone arround the school that can pick it up and send via dhl it will work to..

Better take the second option. Sleep well in the terminal, lol. The queue in JFK is unpredictable. Goodluck.
