I don't know if this happens to me alone or there are people out there who experience this too. I have observed that I hold on to memorize of my pasts that often makes me nostalgic. Sometime I wish I could go back to that time and experience those feelings again. This feeling weighs me down and doesn't let me enjoy the present moment with the people I'm with.

Another phase of this problem is I hardly forget wrongs and most of the things people say to me so it makes me hold grudges even when I don't want to. But its hard because my brain keeps reminding me and its like I'm living that experience all over. So I get angry and the other person who doesn't understand. Does not know why I'm making the fuss. This is affecting me a lot as I have become too emotional and sentimental.

I can't even keep a girlfriend because of this grudge thing. If she lies to me once without knowing. My brain filters her out as dishonest and I start losing feelings. Especially when people contradict themselves, my brain remembers everything.
There was a time I was in church and my pastor insulted fela as being an agent of the devil. My brain recorded it. The I guess after a year or so the same pastor praised fela as an icon. Everyone else has forgotten but it kept conflicting itself in my head.

If anybody here can help me, I'll appreciate the advice and tips. I feel too Much and its wrecking me...

My mum never admitted she had issues and that had made people desert her. she's just alone. If I weren't the only child of a single mother, I would have left her too bcus being with is more of enduring than fun.

Now that you've admitted your faults, open up your mind and let peaceful influences come in. It may seem difficult at first but you'll rejoice at the end.

That's one of the things that happens to introverted people..
They always go back to the past, what others have forgotten they tend to hold on to it..
I got a change of heart, when my pastor's wife preached about PEACE.
I realized i was holding on to things that ain't relevant, even things that people weren't serious about, I had to free myself,i forgave myself and everyone i was holding in my heart and God helping me I am as free like an eagle and i found peace...
Now life seems to be so sweet, I laugh over all the laughable " I'm like hey IT DOESN'T COUNT "

Nothing is more sweet than going to bed, with a free heart.
So OP try it's all in you, your life is yours, nothing goes in without your consent, you ain't doing anybody but you are doing yourself.....

Although I hugely doubt it, I think you have a mild case of HSAM (Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory).

I can't understand why you would see it as a curse: HSAM is a boon to historians and professionals whose line of work is mainly concerned with having to recall huge amount of dates and facts.

You have to learn how to filter out the irrelevant memories to avoid getting overwhelmed. You can use aversion therapy i.e. whenever those distracting memories flood in, pinch yourself until it hurts. Rinse and repeat this process until your subconscious begins to associate pain (pinching) with the irrelevant recollections, thereby putting a stop to them.
