Hello great people pls need help on the situation below;

The thing is i filled and submited my ds 160 form on 2 Aug and i filled my intended day of arrival as 13 Aug but my visa interview is date is 14th of Aug. However, the sch has sent me resumption date extension to like 25 Aug-5 Sempt. Looking for validation online as regards what concerns your pocket wont help you. You are the only one that knows your pocket and know how much you can afford, if she knows and feels the stress wont affect her, why not book a greyhound bus. IMean it will just take about 12hrs to get to Virginia from Newyork and its not your regular oshodi bus that would have thrown your body left and right before you get to your destination. Some people have traveled longer distance with bus and they are still alive today. Some people like comfort so much that they cant compromise while some can go out of their comfort zone sometimes. Make the decision yourself based on all factors and do what is best for her
thanks baba.

Some people do mock interview, give right answers and speak well articulated queen's English, but they were not given visa. Why is it like that?

Visa approved on 7/7/17 at 6:30am
Very very late…apologies
I am a passive observer of this thread and actually just registered an account because of this transcript.
Six weeks prior to the interview I had started following this thread as I knew my interview was approaching and I needed all the information I could lay my hands on for success. And did several mock interviews for myself.
I had previously been denied five (2 F1 and 3B1/B2) times from 2014 till 2016.
After securing my appointment I was a little-laid back as I did not know what to expect. But a week to the appointment day I continued in the prayers and fasting I had been privileged to do, so I decided on the night to only praise God and not ask for anything – I listened to gospel music from 12midnight till 2:30am, then I set my alarm for 4:00am not knowing my phone was on silent.
As at 4:40 I was still in dreamland only for me to hear a knock on my door, it was my mum – she was surprised I was still sleeping at the time for a 6:30am interview whilst staying in Akowonjo – I jumped out of bed and thanked my stars.
In 15minutes I cleaned up drove to V.I. Walter Carrington and got there by 5:50(even 2fast 2furious stars cannot catch me).
Joined the queue and we were read the disclosure act of what not to take in. My comb was the only item not permitted but I thought it would not be noticed only for some guy to be sent back because of comb, I tried to give him my comb but the CGI staff insisted I go out and all the way back – I smiled and said inside of me that it is all working for my good. Did my registration and got in:
Some were approved others were denied but I did not really focus on that as was advised by the CGI staff to rather focus on God.
I am next in line with a lady in front of me:
CGI…Window 4(not sure) now open said the VO…then the CGI lady called the two (2) of us with the lady being first. The woman was so calm and took the time to ask, allowed her to respond and took time in typing and Voula white paper for her. I was just 100% positive that this was my time of favour.
Then it was my turn…..
V.O.: Good morning
ME: Good morning

V.O: Please pass your documents (I passed it) she then checks through then saw my travel stamps and my U.K. VISA then she put down the passport and took about 40seconds reading stuff on her system…probably my previous application report. She looks to me and asked:

V.O.: So why would you be traveling to the U.S.
ME: I would be traveling to the U.S.A. to study for my Masters of Business Administration at Bowling Green State University.

V.O.: What is your major?
ME: My major is Management Information Systems and services, which will require me to complete a total of 41credit hours of total course work (was muttering at this side) that is 18 credit hours of core courses, 14 credit hours of electives and 9credit hours of research and this focuses on how one can use data and computer programs to drive business decisions that would make a business successful and profitable. I would be taking courses like statistics for managerial decision, managerial accounting, business ethics, law and communication and topics in management. Although I applied to Bowling Green State University in Ohio and Illinois State University in Chicago I did choose BGSU because of its compact academic curriculum and I also see this as a form of certification as I am a consultant and trainer and I like to study from a trainer’s point of view. I did complete my CIBN exams last year May and I became an associate member that gave me an automatic license to train other who wants to take similar exams. This made professor …… and dr …… have an interest in my academic pursuit at the department that made the department award me a part tuition scholarship for my program. (The VO took time to listen to all I had to say even when I included things she didn’t ask of…this is grace, VO did not even cut me whilst answering this…I’m going to specially pray for her because she is an angel in the right place at the right time).

V.O.: She then typed for some time – Who will be sponsoring you.
ME: My Uncle

V.O.: What does he do?
ME: He is the CEO of ………………. They are a logistics business…the likes of DHL and Fedex.

V.O.: How many years has he been CEO
ME: 5

V.O.: What of your parents
ME: They’re fine

V.O.: Are they here in Nigeria
ME: Yes of course

V.O.: Do you have any siblings
ME: Yes 2… Mention name….works at ……, Mention name….works at ……

V.O.: You said you were awarded a Scholarship
ME: Yes ma

V.O.: You said your uncle sponsoring you, works where?
ME: Called it

V.O.: Please spell it
ME: Spelt it

V.O.: Types for a while then reached for aaaaaaaaaaaaa WHITE PAPER…..and I couldn’t just believe. Wow Testimonies *justlikethat* she reads the pickup act
ME: Thank you ma and I left with joyyyyyyy….

About a year ago I spoke with @akins2016 whom I met through a friend and said I need a school that will give me a scholarship and that was it. I got a good school, got admission, got scholarship, all through he guided me from top to bottom. He is God’s angel sent to me, I appreciate you.
Also, I appreciate all the pioneers of the thread and everyone who had posted at one time or the other, I will say let’s carry on as lives are being blessed daily by your input.
I cannot really pin down a thing as I did many things all through the 1year…like
Giving, Praising, Helping others, giving out clothes, visiting the motherless-baby, preaching, seeking help from my spiritual leaders, parent’s prayers, making a future pledge if successful and so many more.
I pray that the grace and favour I enjoyed: you all that believe will enjoy it too in all your endeavors. Do not be discouraged…God will smile on you. Also, try to let whatsoever you say come from the heart, I literally poured out my goals, plans, and ambitions to her.
God bless everyone
God bless NL

All Glory and adoration be to God Almighty...

The God of my Fathers...

Can't thank Baba enough..

Also... Wanna say THANK YOU to the best mum in the world... Who supported all d way...

Also. A big THANK YOU to everyone here... My e-family... Everyone of whom I have learnt what to say(visa approved transcripters) and of whom I have learnt what not to say(visa postponed transcripters)

I have been a diligent silent follower of this thread....

I made screen shots and video of most transcripts and keynotes...
I analyzed every transcript to its extremes.... learning and recalliing and comparing...

And guess what...

All odds was against me...

Applied to a College, Age wasn't on my side, there wasn't sufficient time to contact the gurus here... No serious mock interview... Didn't write any test whatsoever... Etc

But yet....

Visa was approved today... 7:00am...

My transcripts will follow soon...

But I must say..

IT'S JUST GRACE

Interview was less than a minute...
I think just around 5questions was asked..

Was far easier than expected..

My transcript will follow soon..

And truly...

I experienced that few seconds deafness that comes after "your visa have been approved"...

Too joyous to write straight now.... Forgive my haphazardly written piece of gratitude....

I fondly hope and fervently pray that one day, EVERY Nigerian, would get US visa and won't even jubilate. Then we won't have to pray, fast or share testimonies about it. What is a Visa afterall? A pass to go see, do business, live , work or study at another part of God's earth.

So I got to my final destination(Illinois) like an hour ago.
My flight from Lagos to Casablanca was scheduled for 6:30am but got delayed till 10am on Wednesday morning, so I had gotten to the airport around 12am not knowing they had rescheduled the flight, so I stayed at the airport till the next morning with sleeping at all. So we left Lagos for Casablanca around 10:20 and got there around 14:30, meanwhile my stopover was to be 4 hours in Casablanca and we had already used that up in the Lagos delay, so as soon as we alighted those of us with the 4 hour stopover had to rush over to the departure terminal to leave immediately. So we left Casablanca around 15:20 and got to New York(JFK) at 7:30pm local time. The POE queue was freaking long. People of different color, race and gender all queuing to enter the US. We were sha moving small small till I got to the front. By the way I don't know why I've just been having that thought of secondary screening and each time it pops up in my head I just reject it. So I was put on a queue in front of one white CBP officer where I had some Asians and Europeans in front of me. The guy took one Asian and one European for secondary screening. I just said it cannot happen to me in my mind. Gbam it got to my turn
Me: Good evening sir
CBP: Good evening sir
I gave him my passport,i20 and SEVIS without him asking.
He stared at the passport and looked into my eyes, asked me to put my four fingers on the scanner, Checked my i20, stamped my passport, gave it to me and said "Next". He didn't ask me a single question. Not even why are you here? Or where are you headed? Or do you have garri and so? So I cleared immigration around 9:30pm at JFK. Moved to baggage claim, carried my 2 heavy boxes and my heavy hand luggage to luggage storage because my flight to St. Louis was for 5am in the morning and I can't be carrying heavy bags up and down the very big airport that someone can lost inside. So I had already checked online and saw that it's only in Terminal 4 that the luggage storage is run 24hours, so I moved from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4 using AirTrain which is free within the airport. I stored my luggage, they don't weigh luggage o, they use the height of the box/bag to tell you how much you'll pay. Anyways I paid $16 to store the 3 boxes. I then proceeded to look for Terminal 8 which is where my American Airlines flight is. I went there and they told me check-in starts by 3am. So I went to Dunkin Donuts and bought Turkey with bacon and cheddar in flatbread and I ate it with iced coffee. Everything was $8.64. Then I used the free internet for 30minutes which was quite fast. Time went by and American Airlines delayed their flight till 6:30am, I waited again, meanwhile throughout my trip which was over 30hours by then I hadn't got more than 5 hours of sleep, noting that I didn't sleep the night before the day I left Nigeria because I was happy.
Cutting the story short even though it's very long already.lol. I left JFK to my destination around 7:00am Thursday and I got to my apartment around 13:00. The time is 14:58. And I really need to sleep.

My transcript. I had booked my interview for 3/8/2017. A day before being 2/8/2017, I called my cousin to go with me to the mechanic. I got married 2 weeks before this date so I was still on my honeymoon break. My car had a minor issue so it was fixed in no time. I live on the mainland and Island road can confuse me so I thought of going to know the venue of the interview because I planned leaving home pretty early on the interview date. I asked my cousin to open his Google map on his app and we were able to trace Walter Carrington effortlessly. We got there at about 11am. Went straight into the car park a lady walked up to us and asked if I wanted to make photo copies or have my photograph taken. I showed her the photograph I had and asked what she thought. She told me that the background wasn’t white enough and the size wasn’t standard. She offered to make 6 six copies for 1,500. I eventually paid her 1k. And she showed me what documents were required. I got home that day and tried to rehearse with few points I had written down. I even asked my wife to help me prepare. Frankly, I don’t know how to recite written lines, I feel like a robot while doing this. This brings me to what I believe Visa interview is about including job interview. It’s a conversation between two people. You need to try as much as possible to be relaxed, bold and express yourself how you can. This was my first U.S visa interview. My wife thought I wasn’t serious as I turn the whole rehearsal into romance. Before we went to bed, I asked her to pray for me, I believe all that a Child of God has is given to him by God himself. And my wife has been a source of favor since I met her. She no only fine, she get brain join! And she loves God.
Fastforward
Alarm rang 3:30am, I had only gone to bed at 2am. I was agitated the whole night, just couldn’t sleep. I put off the alarm and woke up on my own at 4:00 am. I live along Igando road. I hit the road at 4:30am on the dot. Got to Walter Carrington at 5:40am.
I did all the necessary checks. Oh well, while I was driving to the Island I was committing the heart of the V.O into the hands of my Father. The good book says the heart of Kings are in the hand of the Lord and he directs them wherever He will. I ministered in the Spirit and got myself prepared spiritually. All I encountered was favor all through till I got to the window for interview. In my mind I had chosen the person I wanted to interview me. I wanted the elderly lady at window 6. She seem nice and was giving people white paper, while the other V.O’s were speaking so loud and dashing people baba blue. The guy directing people on the queue directed me to window 5. Trust me that was the toughest V.O there. I had just seen him deny two people, one of them with part scholarship. The V.o asked the last guy to define mitosis and myosis, I think he was going for microbiology or something, he finally denied him.Chai!!! I cant start defining anything today o!! I said to myself. Then it was my turn. I think this particular VO asks the most questions. He takes his time to interview whomever and checks all documentations.
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning (with a smile)
VO: Please pass your passport
Me: Here you go
VO: Tell me what you are going to do in the U.S
Me: was blank for the first 5secs. Then I went…… I am going to the U.S to pursue a postgraduate course in subsea engineering at the University of Houston.
VO turn into typist for the next 2min.
In my mind I was like “bros wetin you dey type, ask me question na!”
VO: Why are you going for this program
At this point I was relaxed. And made sure I maintained eye contact.
Me: Subsea Engineering is relatively new program and it has became necessary because most known wells are running dry while petroleum engineers are discovering wells far offshore at subsea levels. This study helps develop methods to successfully explore oil and gas products from these wells. I hope to improve my employability with this certification when I return back home after my studies.
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: Two schools offer this program in the whole of U.S. Texas A & M and University of Houston. I applied to the latter
VO: Why didn’t you apply to A &M?
Me: as at the time I was making my research about the program in 2015 Texas A & M had just commenced the program, while Houston had been running the program since 2012 or so.
VO: Can you tell me courses you’ll be taking
ME: I mentioned like 5 courses
VO: Who’s paying for your expenses
Me: My elder brother
VO: Why is he paying?
Me: He’s been taking care of my tuition and fees since I was in High School
VO: What does he do
Me: He is a medical doctor
VO: What kind of doctor is he?
Me: He is specialized in internal medicine
VO: where is he?
Me: He lives in the U.s
VO: what city?
Me: TN
VO: Do you have his bank statement and tax returns here (is it in naira or dollars).
Me: yeah, In dollars (passed it to him)
VO: I can see you studied in England why aren’t you pursuing this course in the UK.
Me: I would love to experience different culture from the U.K’S
VO: Quite an interesting program (passes white paper)
That’s all I heard.

When going for your interview just remember Boldness is Key. Try not to sound all rehearsed, them go ask you question to put you off balance.
I dedicate this Success to GOD almighty.
