Is it possible to invest 500,000 for 30 days and also what will be my interest. Thank you as you respond.

It depends on whether 30days tenor is available. Yes you can. 500, 000 x 18% / 365 x 30 = prorated interest.

Good evening house. Please I don't know how significant this question am about to ask is but I am going to ask any way.

What advantages do trading the secondary market have over the primary market and vice versa. I assume trading the secondary market is more convenient compared with trading the primary even though u sometimes get lower rates. Apart from the interest rate which other factor(s) would make waiting for the primary auction be a better decision than simply patronizing TBills in the secondary market?

I will appreciate it is anyone can please enlighten me. Thank u.

you have all the facts RIGHT.
what you need is confidence in the system.

pri or sec is same thing.

if you have the money now and next primary is in 2 weeks .. Go for Secondary if you see a rate close enough to your target rate.

primary market is slow and requires waiting to know the resultant rate.
But secondary market is instant and rate is known BEFORE you invest.

except u want a full 364Dy tenor SEC is best for beginners

With the increased awareness and activities on treasury bills, does it seem like there'll be new rules or interest benchmark?

Hello guys,

I was told by a GTB staff that I cannot reinvest my interest accrued from 600k bid for 182 day. Stating that the interest is less than 100k

Please how true is this?

Should I visit another bank?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 5:01pm On Aug 08, 2017
Investnow2017:

Lets assume a figure of 1m @18% for 182 days with a re-invested interest for

1,000,000 × 18% = 90,000
90,000 x 18% = 8,000
8,008 x 18% = 720

At the end of 6 months or 182 days will be:

90,000 + 8,008 + 720 = 98,728

Am i right?

18% of 1,000,000 is 180,000

30 rooms at 120 per room for a year is #3.6m

Say you bought the land for #5m and built with #40m total is #45m

Therefore it is going to take you about 12 year to get your money back.

But if you do Tbill and rollover the interest and capital at 18%, it will take you 4 years to recover your money

Note . House and land will appreciate in value. But it won't be anything compared to if you continue to roll over the Tbill for the same 12years

How sound is this please

Why not? Especially when there are better and more profitable Banks than GTB when it comes to Treasury Bills.
First Bank I think should be your next port of call because they allow compounding interest and their rates are ALWAYS better than GTB which I consider to be "Stingy"

Hello house i want you guys to advice me on this that have been bothering me. I have wanted to invest in TB since this year but i have a kind of fear that made me start to contemplate. I am a type that likes to invest all in one and so like to be careful not to lose at the end. What bothers me is the Biafran Agitation issues and now my question is, if anyhow Biafra separates can the Nigerian government decide not to refund my money?

This have really left me with thoughts of using the money to buy land. Please i need professional advice from the house
Note: No tribalism here
the only thing holding you back is FEAR.

During the Last election period, I spoke with zenith bank account manager if she thinks Tbills was safe to fly then.
With the tension filled in the country then, I was scared of a possible breakup that could affect the investment.
Because of that I accepted the miserly rate zenith bank offered after she talked me out of Tbills.

PS; One of the worst banks to do Fixed deposit is with Zenith bank. My God, they are damn stingy with their rates.
i think 90days then was bout 4-5% p.a

Now election passed and nothing happened, and I lost on earning more if I had gone with treasury bills instead.
So forget about Biafra and Invest your money.
The agitation isn't even as scary as the Last concluded president campaigns in 2015, so fire on!
