Would my account be credited back since there won't 364 days because I am thinking of going to the bank to inform them about it so that I am not given anything less like that of 91 or 182 days because that doesn't interest me.

Definitely, if not they will still call to tell you about available options.

Of course yes and if they don't, just go and talk to their head and they'll surely apologise. In the alternative, you can call or visit them tomorrow and tell them that you are informed that there will be no 364day tenor tomorrow and you wonder why your account was debited instead of informing you about it.

I then told her that I must Suscribe for Treasury Bills..Because she was in charge of Tre5as Bills,I couldn't escape her,.....She gave me a paper to write an instruction which I did.,I was waiting to be debited but to no avail..,I later went to the Bank and she said my treasury bill wasn't treated that I should wait for another Bi_Week ..,I refused..kept disturbing her line until she treated my T-bills two weeks after..
Now i understand.....
God Bless you bro

That banker is toying with customer instructions.

From the plates of First Bank of Nigeria
I bring you today's Secondary market rate.

155days - 17.5%
190days - 17.5%

I wonder why some people are killing themselves because they want to Invest in the primary market, The secondary market has interesting offers too just like the one I just posted.

Remember Time is money! Every 2weeks you miss out is a loss for keeping your funds idle.

Think Wisely

there's tenors: 85 64 43 50 29 even 15

I have a question: what's special about primary market? how's it better than secondary? is it because of tenor?

In banks/investment houses that are their own custodian like FBN, you can roll over your TB for same tenure though @ the prevailing market rate.. Meaning you can do either 91,182 or 364 day investment and direct them to rollover @ maturity. The benefit of this is that:
1) you will not loose one day in between maturity date and new reinvestment date if you are OK with the rate.
2) it helps in compounding interest for those who wish to by instructing them to rollover with interest thereby saving the time and energy for calculation and writing new request for reinvestment of interest.

Also, before the CBN 50M policy, Knowledgeable investors could bid for themselves. Infact their bids sometime get more successful ahead of the Bank's through which they invest.
Some peoples investment is targeted @ achieving the whole tenure...in the secondary market it difficult to get a complete tenure especially for 364.

Why we are refinancing local debts with $3bn – DMO
Abdulfatai Ayobami Ibrahim / 12 hours ago

Everest Amaefule, Abuja

Refinancing Federal Government’s maturing local debts with $3bn external borrowing will not only crash the rate of domestic borrowing but also allow some borrowing space to the private sector, the Debt Management Office has said.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, the DMO said borrowing from foreign sources to refinance the local debts would also allow the government time to repay the loans when the economy must have fully recovered from recession as well as when the economy must have been diversified.

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, had shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday announced the plan to borrow $3bn from external sources to refinance local debt of $3bn.

The FEC approval followed a proposal by the DMO for the refinancing of part of the country’s domestic debts, particularly Nigerian Treasury Bills, through the borrowing of $3bn.

The DMO said the move was informed by the lower dollar interest rates in the International Capital Market, adding that Nigeria was expected to borrow at a rate not higher than seven per cent while issuances of the NTBs in the domestic market were at rates as high as 18.53 per cent.

According to the office, external borrowing is cheaper by about 12 per cent and will result in substantial cost savings for the FGN in debt service costs.

The DMO said, “Besides reducing the cost of borrowing, the $3bn is expected to be raised for a tenor of up to 15 years, which is very long compared to the maximum tenor of 364 days for the NTBs.

“This move will effectively extend the tenor of the government’s debt portfolio. The longer tenor enables the government to repay at a time when the economy would be stronger and more diversified to meet the obligations.”

It added, “The reduction in the level of the FGN’s borrowing from the domestic market will result in a reduction in domestic interest rates and free up borrowing space in the economy, particularly for private sector borrowers.

“The $3bn from the refinancing will also represent an injection of foreign exchange into the economy which will boost the country’s external reserves.”

The DMO said that the approval of the National Assembly would be obtained for the proposed refinancing before implementation in line with the Debt Management Office Act 2003.

call deposits are for people who do not want to tie down their money for a fixed term. They can choose to terminate at any time. 3days,13 days, in fact, next day.
Any day at all without any penalty to you.
So the banks cannot offer high rates for an unstable investment.
If this was not your intention, then you should re-evaluate your options.
6% is actually really really really good for your call deposit.
