Hmmm Chicago sha. Oya let me post my own POE experience with them. I travelled with my 2 toddlers and Oga. Had both with my 1st visa and renewed via drop box. All B2. I had prepared my documents and was a little apprehensive at 1st but i reminded myself I have nothing to hide, prayed and decided to trust God. Got to out turn. Me: Hello VO: Hi. What brings you guys to Chicago Hubby: Medical conference. Short trip for x amount of days VO: Oh your a doctor? What type? Can I see your return tickets? Me: Couldn't find print out so I asked if I could show her on my phone and she said sure. VO: Where will you be staying? How much cash do you have? We answer. *Carrys my boys blue passport and asks Who is? I show her... and this? I show her ( They kuku resemble and are close in age). VO: Lovely and asks me to thumb print (hubby had already done his) I tot that was the end na so d woman say: kindly come with me for a stroll and leads us to Sec inspection. We met other folks there... and they weren't calling according to how you came. One black guy from a different country dey rake them sef say why they no dey follow line... in my mind I was like, dude chill oh before they carry you do example. I was calm but just praying We don't spend time waiting to be called After 20 mins a lady comes and calls me... I follow with one of my gum body sons... CBP: Hi. I see you got your visa for child birth. Me: yes CBP: Where did you have him? Me: Well I had 2 children with that visa. One in Georgia, One in Maryland. CBP: The one in Georgia can you remember the name of the hospital? Me: Of course, Gwinnett CBP: I'm sure you paid your bills? Me: yes I did CBP: Can you remember how much you paid? Me: Doctor x amount, Hospital x, infact would you like to see the paper work? I have them. CBP: Yes pls. (In hindsight because I had showed the receipts for my 1st son when travelling d 2nd time, maybe she wanted to see if I could quote the same figures incase I no carry reciept come again) CBP: Do you have receipts for both? Me: Yes and I hand them over. Show her the different 2 and clearly tell her that for my 2nd son I had paid all other bills in full except hospital where I had to pay a bulk x amount and then do a payment plan for the balance because of difficulties in transferring dollar from Naija CBP: Yes I was aware of that dollar issue. Me: Take my BOA statement showing my monthly payments... CBP: Oh nice, looks like your almost done paying. Me: Yes. CBP: Are you pregnant now? Me: yes but early stages. CBP: And you would like to come and give birth as well. Me: Yes but not this year. Next year. CBP: When are you due. Me: March. CBP: Did your baby come early? Didn't get the question at 1st and I said No. She saw my confusion and said she's just wondering... then I realized she wanted to know why I was coming to have them. Me: I have a condition called x with pregnancies so I always have to be induced. CBP: Oh ok. CBP: Give me a few minutes to go through the docs and get back to you. Me: pls also take my most recent scan showing current age of pregnancy. And I go back and wait with my family. 5 mins later she was out and said thanks and hands everything over plus our passports. Said we should go and pick our bags. We spent about 35 mins I guess in all coz I didn't really check the time. Waited 20 to be call... spent max 10 with CBP officer and 5 for her to go through and discharge us. The lady was very polite throughout. In all I thank God for favor and I know it also helped that I had all my docs and have paid 95% of my bills. At least now if I decide to come back to Chicago next year na stroll i go stroll enter I don declare every...All the best guys and really if you have all your docs in place and applied for a B2 visa from the get go I don't think you have much to fear. They called me before some people I met there so I don't think they were looking to waste my time sef. All na God sha. Have a lovely day peepss. |

MamaOO:Lol, I tell you nah just to laugh ooo. My twins were in the NICU for almost weeks. I was asking for how far the bill was. It was when it got to $650,000 the 4th week I just stop asking before I have heart attack. My aunt thought I wasn't hearing what the financial officer was telling until she heard it herself while the phone was on speaker. Thank God for the lady in charge of my bills, she was over helpful. She made sure they had voluntary financial assistance from organisations. And u are right, they can enroll you baby for medic aid without u knowing especially if the case is critical. Mine was an emergency under low birth weight, I didn't know they were registered until the 3rd week. Nah there fight start. It is well, God bless our hustle for our children |

Hello house, My sister who is a us citizen just gave birth and she wants our older sister to come over to assist her in nursing the child, as she would be back to work in the next four or five weeks. Our sister is a widower, 52 yrs, does buying and selling, she's never travelled, no bank account as she would be sponsored. What are her chances of securing the visa as she intends to stay for 4 months. Thanks all |

Ok guys in the spirit of giving back, here is my script from visa approval to POE as this thread has been of great help. I am a first time mum and had a virgin passport although I had travelled to African countries in my previous passport but my first in USA. I went for my visa interview at 33 weeks 1day and the script went thus, VO: Goodmorning Me: Good morning VO: Can I have your passport pls. Me: Handed over my passport with my big file tugged in my arms VO: why are you going to US Me: to have my baby VO: Have you travelled before Me: yes, to Ghana and Gambia VO: How did you know about the doctor you will be using Me: internet research VO: How much do is the entire bill for the childbirth Me: 12,890k dollars. I have my budget sheet would you like to see it VO: No don't worry when I need it I will request for it. VO: where do you work Me: I trained as bleep and work as bleep in bleep company VO: who is your competitor Me: bleep company. VO: pick up your visa in 3 days at VI and make sure you travel with you proof of cost, dr correspondence and payment proof. Everything was less than 5mins I was shocked. POE was also a breeze. I used KLM and used Houston POE. At a time I was scared cos of the different bad stories and I travelled at 35weeks 6days. I requested for wheel chair and am grateful I got that from this forum. KLM was good, had more than enough food to eat and the leg room was good too. When we got to Amsterdam the flight was delayed for 2hrs Houston POE I was sitting in a wheel chair. CBP: your passport I gave him CBP: you are here to have your baby is this the first Me: yes my first ever CBP: laughed I haven't heard that before. CBP: how much do you have Me:8900k dollars and my debit card CB0: are you married and is your husband coming Me:yes I am, am not sure he will be coming as he is currently busy with work. CBP: so who will help you while you are here Me:I will manage. CBP: follow me, took me to secondary inspection where I waited for about 2 minutes and one Arabian guy was already raking for them there. 2cbp: called me, how much do you have, I repeated what I said earlier CBP: how long will you be here for Me: 8 weeks. CBP: make sure you collect all your receipts and take it to the embassy in Nigeria so that they can put it in your record so that even if you forget it next time we will have it in the system Me: ok thank you. CBP: do you have egusi Me: yes and crayfish and ogbono CPB: why? Me because I need to eat Nigeria food while am here CBP: laughed and said bye. I didn't spend into 10 minutes in both places and my food wasn't check. I thank for favourably and thanks to this forum too. Currently relaxing in Houston while I await my first appointment with Dr F tomorrow. |

Hey mamas and papas, I have read quite alot from Part 1, though i jump some pages, my wife is due in January. we have already paid the enrolment fee for Doctores Para ti. I need your candid advice - is it safe to pay all the fees for the package in advance and get evidence of payment to show at POE. |
| Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Vlesparza: 3:42am On Oct 11, 2017 |
Babloochuchu:Prepayment is not a requirement, it is for patients that want to use a receipt of payment as their proof of economic solvency at the POE. You can choose to pay in person at the moment of your first consultation. Pre-payment is an optional service offered for your convenience. |
