Hello Champs! I'd like to know if

1) It's true that schools don't give finicial aid to graduate students who choose the non thesis option.

2) Financial aids are only/mostly awarded in fall

Someone responded "yes" to this. No offense meant, but please I need a second opinion

1. It is possible to get Finaid ., However there are way more opportunities for Thesis options. So you have to research well on programs that will give GA to non Thesis

2. Yes initially ,as most budget and allocation starts in falls so usually the spaces are given in fall that by spring time , it the left over which means its harder to find in spring . So it is possible to find in spring as well but much harder as its fewer

please I need clarity of the issue of WES. The schools I want to apply to, are silence on it and even majority of the schools-offering master in chemical engineering,
didn't mention it. they prefer submitting unofficial transcript online and if admitted, the sealed-hard copy will be requested.
My GPA is 4.1/5 chemical engineering.
considering this, should I still go ahead and do the evaluation?
please kindly help

Try visit google sometimes... it helps and saves time. If you can't find most things there, then press on more info.
Anyways:
1) First step after getting I-20 is to finalizing a university from the admits you have.
2) Pay SEVIS fee for the university you are applying.
3) You need to Book Visa Date to appear for Visa Interview with US Consulate.
4) Get Bank statements ready or Student loan for Education.
5) Prepare all the documents required for F1 Visa Interview.
6) Know about Frequently asked Questions in Student Visa Interview and Prepare for those Qs.
The link below will help you more:

All you need to do is make sevis payment in the next link after receiving your i20 (https://www.fmjfee.com), note that the SEVIS cant be paid in Nigeria, someone abroad has to make the payment for you after you have filled the sevis coupon in that link, then fill the Ds 160 form ( https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/) and lastly schedule for visa interview here https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=Nigeria

western union nko...tot is an acceptable means of payment

good morning, what is the best airport to land bfr connecting to Ohio, or how can Ohio be connected directly from Lagos and what's the cheapest airline,

Hey check out Royal Air Maroc. Lagos to IAD (Washington Dulles Intl Airport) flights are as cheap as $723. You can first land in Ohio then take a connecting flight.

No, don't evaluate with WES since the schools you have in mind don't require it. Send your transcripts straight to the schools as they require.

Western union money order or western union quick pay (instant payment). The person abroad has to have the generated form i901 to be able to pay for you.

Florida International University? Be it known that that school is terribly expensive. I know someone who transferred out after 1 semester. If you don't have about $10k every semester to spend I strongly advise you to apply to a cheaper school.

When you are looking for a good deal or free money you gat to spread your risk.... Find that application fee and apply to at least 3 or more schools especially if it not fall session . Although even if its fall session one school application-I-don't -like
If you did then that good

Best of Luck

[quote author=Olufemiopa post=61492357]Hello House,

Please, I need urgent assistance. I am completing form DS-160 for F1 visa interview, which departure date are my supposed to pick, is it the end date stated on my form 1-20 or what?

Thanks.[/quo

Check your i-20 you will see earliest admission date, its usually a month before your program start date. You can put any date between these two. E.g 10days before your program start date is fine.

Hello House and experience people like @Lagosismyhome, and @bigfrancis21,

Please, as a Graduate student on F1 Visa, what type of business petty things can your wife do in the US legally to keep busy as well as support financially while with you in US on F2 dependent Visa?

Is there any hand work/skills she can learn in Nigeria before coming that she can use legally? Am aware dependent are not allowed to take up employment while on F2 Visa.

Thanks in anticipation.

Good afternoon everyone. please, Is there anyone who can shed more light on how to fill the details for recipients for WES evaluation. After adding recipients , I noticed it showed that it would be sent electronically to the institutions. Is that the normal way it is being sent to the institutions?

we have 2units course(which means 2hrs), 3 unit course (3hrs), 4 unit course(4hrs) and so on. to get a 60 hours, you add up your lasts course units that sum up to 60 units which is equivalent to 60hrs.
