Nice point sir, in addition I'm suspecting that one of their spouses hired assassins who hid in the car waiting for the spouses to come in, the assassin then proceeded to strangle them from behind, killed them and stripped them naked in order to disgrace them and remove suspicion. But all in all a simple autopsy would solve this riddle.

Very unlikely.
Asphyxiation leads to death preceded by a struggle; they would have been aware of diminishing O2 levels and come out of the car. With CO poisoning loss of consciousness precedes death. The victims are not aware.

CO poisoning might be term "oxygen deprivation" too naa, since the gas competes with molecular oxygen for hemoglobin.

well dat's a possibility, especially with all these our naija used vehicles, otherwise the passenger cell in a vehicle is supposed to keep out exhaust gas and some never vehicles even have an air filtration system.
