That's not true.. you can book your appointment immediately after paying your visa fee Or you can book anytime you want.. as much as you have your payment receipt. Then you are good to go anytime....

Your Uncle I think should print a statement and send to you via courier. I think this will work sha.

Please I need your opinion on this. My uncle in the US sent me a bank letter which I presented to the school I applied. The letter is on the bank letter headed paper and duly signed. The school accepted the letter but the challenge I have now is the embassy. People keep saying they went with statement. Are they going to turn down my bank letter which states the amount in my uncle's account but not a bank statement. Thank you

Wow! Most times it's better to be sure about some certain things you already know. This thread has been helpful and I am very much aware that everything said here is to help me and everyone else who faces the same issues or has the same questions. I have relatives who are schooling in The states and they did that without taking SAT. I am aware of this yet I still came to this thread to be very sure about this. I didn't come here to argue at all, I came here to learn and I have learned so many things already.

However, I was just reviewing my I-20 now only to discover that 10th January is stated for compulsory Orientation for Freshers/ New students. I wish to know if there is a problem with this? Hello guys, this has been a very interesting thread so far. I thank everyone who has contributed to the success of this thread, you all don't know the great work you are doing and how many lives have been blessed by your act of kindness.

I would like to study in the US. I am 22years of age and I want to study at Utah Valley University. I have my waec certification and other documents relating to my high school. The problem here is that I don't have the means to sit for SAT and I would love to go for TOEFL alone. I have 2 sisters in the US and an Uncle in Nigeria who are ready to sponsor my education.

My questions are..

1) Is it possible to be granted a Visa without sitting for SAT, even if the school didn't ask for it?

2) What are my chances of getting approved, due to my age and other things I mentioned above?

3) I am really new to this and I wouldn't want to make any mistakes. If there are any tips or advice you could add it will be deeply appreciated. Thank you once again.

You can't edit ds160 form after submission..

Nothing happen to the appointment you already scheduled, what you will do is to send a feedback mail from the appointment site that you want to update your new ds160 and remove the old one. some weeks or months ago someone claimed that applicants can now update it online themselves but i doubt it for now.

You're wrong, it's possible, very much possible, when you have your parents financial support. In my own case, I didn't mention I own huge, I only have a bank statement I can easily build on.

You want to build a bank statement for yourself by doing cash lodgement in less that 6 months just because of visa interview without no valid source for the fund. SMH! SMH!! SMH!!!

Those two schools in bold are ok. I have a couple of friends studying at TAMUK and they love it. Tuition is affordable and cost of living generally in Texas is affordable.
