After asking FBN if I can top up existing Treasury Bills, below is their reply.

Good Day Sir,

Apologies for missing out your mail.

Kindly note the options available on your request:

Once existing investment matures, additional funds can be applied

Liquidate investment (penal charges apply) for additional funds to be included at the next available bidding

We require a signed written instruction (letter format) for any of the options.

So, apparently before i can top up Treasury Bills, it is either I wait till my existing Treasury Bills mature or I liquidate and pay penalty charges. Nawa O! shocked

So what were you expecting?. Don't you know that TB is from the FG. It is like asking if you can give the FG money whenever you like for them to pay you interest when they do not need it. Na by force to collect money that is not needed from you?.

My post is a counter to a claim that TB investor can top up TB at any time! Thank you!

I am sure you can read very well. How is my response commensurate with discourage? Read this thread properly, is that simple to do? This question has been answered many times and i personally answered this same question of yours recently on this same thread and infarct it is still on a page before this current page as per the difference between Primary and Secondary market in my answer to tmod here https://www.nairaland.com/878880/treasury-bills-nigeria/421 . Had it been you read careful you wouldn't ask the same question and still have the gut to lay unnecessary false accusation of discouraging others. You like wahala sha!

It's because people respond to their over repeated questions that's why they keep asking over and over again

They are simply very lazy and want to be spoon fed. I won't be suprised if someone else ask same question next page.

I have learnt to ignore such very lazy people after being insulted

Quite Right... you can top up your TB balance by simply buying more TBs... not by amending an existing one. It is NOT usual to liquidate TBs in order to increase TB balances. Hope that helps...

Get paid HANDSOMELY by doing such simple tasks as writing ebook and ad contents!!
You must be a professional or able to conduct yourself as one though.

We are a top writing and copywriting agency looking to add new great writers to our elite team. We have had the pleasure to work with very talented writers who are capable of producing contents that require no extra proofreading, and we will like to add more of this type.

There is no risk involved whatsoever, and it's not a salary system. As soon as we have jobs, we send you a mail. You complete it, and we instantly transfer your money to you as soon as we get confirmation from our clients that they are satisfied. When they are not, you will have the option to revise your work.

However, while we can give long time to complete jobs, we normally appreciate quick turnarounds. In fact we would rather have you work on the short, simple tasks immediately. But the reason is so that you get the next job quickly.

Hello All,
Please house I invested in treasury bill secondary market at Union Bank last week, 980,000 for 176days at the rate of 14% but now I am in dire need of a lot of funds right now that's really urgent. On the terms and condition for the proof of investment I got it says( Termination of investment before maturity attracts 25% flat penalty on interest earned ) I only got like 68,000 as my interest. Please what do I stand to loose, how much will they deduct and how soon will I get my money credited back so that I can make use part of the funds and reinvest. Please help all

What you should do is visit the bank and go directly to Officer that attended to you. Before going be sure of the date you made the investment...if you do not remember the date just check either you mobile app for your statement or request for your statement at the bank from the period you made the investment. I believe you should also know whether it is primary or secondary you invested in.

With that, just go to him/her and request for your proof of investment.. A certificate that carries the details of your investment.( you will be asked of your name, account no, amount invested and most likely whether its primary or secondary market)

About your interest not being paid upfront, that is dependent on the option you choose on the form when filling it. It is possible you chose the invest capital with interest option or they made a mistake and invested it for you that way. However you could also check your balance to see if its there because first bank most times drop interest without alert.

I believe this will help you.

In that case if that is what the bank told you, then 25% of N68,000 is N17,000. Which means if you terminate your investment before maturity date you will only earn N17,000 as profit excluding your capital. I stand to be corrected by other TB gurus! All the best!

You didnt mention the exact day of the week you invested so I don't know how many days it is..
Let's say you did it on Monday last week and today is Wednesday So its about 9 days..

So I will say...

Principal N980,000 ÷ 100 × 14% ÷ 364 × 9 days ÷100 × 75= 2544.2308

Thank you so much! I thought as much, just wonna hear from the guru's because it's clearly stated on the terms and condition 25% on interest earned. I never see myself terminating any Tb but Too bad I will loose 17k. I will give feedback

I did it 6days ago. Last week wednesday. I really don't understand your calculation. Does that mean they will deduct 2544.2308 and not 17k. They deducted 913.824 for the investment and left the the balance as my interest.
25% of my interest is almost 17k. I don't know if I am right. Please explain further boss
