I will try to briefly explain from my little knowledge. HIV is a virus, and virus needs a receptor in the system of the host, that it binds to to become activated. Virus do not survive for long outside of a living host. HIV gets transmitted via body fluids which includes blood. If for instance, an infected needle that wan't sterilized and still has the virus in life state, is used in piercing one, there's a likelihood for that person to contract the virus if he has the receptor. Windows period of HIV is 3 months and in a rare case is 6 months. nothing like 6 years. my friends case made me read extensively about this virus. and from what I understand hiv is a very difficult virus to transmit and also its harder for men and much harder for men that are circumcise to contract it. and another thing from what I read is that is not every time u have sex with an infected person that u become infection there are things involved like the viral load and luck. I have heard of many couples in which one tested positive and the other negative and I have search for d reason why we have things like that but science don't have a clear explanation why one couple will test positive and the other negative. they just say it is genetic and luck. pls let's protect ourselves. at least now I know my status and I will try my best to keep it going. protect ursef, and also get tested its d only way to know if u have it or not
