bomasek: Is it about war? Yes, Ijaw stretches to west african nations, do you think Benin can be taken down by the ijaw? Wake up from your dream before you continue with your war mongering, it isn't about might but about what's right from wrong. Ijaw is always in the centre of trouble, what is it? Is Ijaw the only tribe in the belt? Make una gre us hear word joor 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Elose11: indeed. even the yoruba version of the folklore says the binis were in benin already and chased their Ogiso prince and then requested a Yoruba Prince from Ife to rule them. the binis say it was the prince ekalederan they chased out who became oduduwa (omo-oduwa they call him). |

Yes we share cultural ties but since the days when your leaders felt they could humilate us and the people of the south south we have learnt to stand alone.....Trust me, an Edo man would rather stay with an Uhrobo man because he knows that when trouble comes somebody gat his back not your kindreds who would jump ship immediately wahala starts.....We aint enemies...am jus telling you how we don't like you guys.... 5 Likes |

NDelta:God bless you my brother from the other side. i was even asking granpa one day why does Edo has bini when almost all my edo friends could barely give a lucid explanation for that word. do you know what he said? he said the Ijaws were fools to focus more on fishing instead of making use of their lands.. even in present day delta(bomadi lga) there is this town that has the uhrobos.(gbaigolo) surrounded by Ijaw towns. ijaws are hospitable.. me personally I have always loved the uhrobos becux They are my closet pals.. my point is. the governor of Edo state should be vary of his comments regarding the Ijaws. 3 Likes |

Oh, God, I swear I dream of war. I dream of war with the ijaw. I dream of dying on the battle front while I know I led my Edo people into certain victory. I dream of making my ancestors proud. General Ologbosera give me your strenght. Ijaw, come and archieve me and let us see if I will make my ancestors proud or not. eulogy: |

These Ijaw people don come again. They are looking for trouble in Bini Kingdom. This reminds me of the Eze Ndigbo issue for Akure that year. You cannot have two kings in one place. Oba has told you to nominate a person that would be a palace chief and Ruler over your people, una say no. How una king go dey under Oba? Meanwhile, una no get king ever for that side before, una just dey come do business as reverine nomads. Now una want get king when una go take dey compare Oba of Benin, just because una don get machine guns and RPGs una want come live on land now? 5 Likes |

bomasek: Funny enough, i'm not an Izon, neither am i a Benin man, but get it out of your dreams that Ijaw will conquer Benin, i hope you know Benin has alliances? Do you consider the extent on how such conflict will spread? You should lend your voice to peace and not war, even Ilaje and Ijaw, Itskeri and Ijaw conflicts didn't end in victory for the Ijaws, so why are you bragging about Ijaw's might when the Benins are clearly been abused? You can't crown a king within a territory that has a king, that's not a provocation, it's a declaration of war. 9 Likes 1 Share |

proudlyYoruba: Urhobos have never called Benin as Ubini. That may be the Itsekiri. I agree with your Ile Ubinu postulation because many historians have documented that. . However, the Urhobo word for Benin (Bini) is Aka (Ihwo r'Aka). 3 Likes |

nengibo: I don't know about Itsekiri but the Urhobos did not get their ethnic appellation from the Ijaws. I'm 100% certain of that. Urhobo, as a name, derives from the eponymous and probably mythical founder of the nation and he was known as Uhobo. Another theory is that Urhobo was the name the Binis called our ancestor(s) when we were at Aka (old Benin). |

The writer is very incoherent and wrote like someone who spent his life in the creeks without knowledge of history. It's same story conceived recently by Ijaws to lay claim to being ancient which cannot be substanciated. He should go back and acquire real history of Bini before disgracing himself. 9 Likes 1 Share |

proudlyYoruba:indeed if the word bini was borrowed from ijaw then it would retain its meaning for water alas water is ame in benin and bini is just a corrupted version of either ubinu or ile-ibinu which was the name the itsekiris or yorubas called it after the ogiso era. The previous name was igodomigodo after the first ogiso named igodo 1 Like |

Archieve me then sell my bones. As far as I am concerned, once I enter a war, I am already dead. All I have to do is chose how I behave before I die. I will fight you people untill my last drip of blood. You think the will of a warrioris to live ? You are kidding yourself, the will of a warrior is to win the war even if it means giving up his life. Afriifa: 1 Like 1 Share |

Afriifa: There's something called the will to fight war, when it comes to the will for wars, the Benins have it in amazing levels. These and more reasons is why we should advocate peace. You will be surprised, the benins under a war will transform into leopards. I don talk my own. I am not a Benin man, and have no affiliations with the Benin Kingdom, but i'm stating the obvious, but if the Ijaw continues war mongering in the SS, we will have futuristic problems for the next generation which is not what we need 1 Like 2 Shares |
