But I feel it serves is Nigerians right. If you're not content with staying at home and praying to your God, praising him, doing his commandments without having to answer another man as "Daddy G.O", why won't you get fleeced?

I remember the story my friend told me. Her dad lost her job for a whole year. The pastor met him in church and was asking him if he is still paying his tithes regularly. From which salary? You are not asking a jobless man how he is feeding his family, you are asking him if he is paying tithes?!!!

I experienced such also... I don't take church stuff serious nowadays, but I still adore and worship God, I also do my best in terms of giving, just forget pastors!

The number of fools that wife beating albino will relegate to poverty is mindblowing. Please don't try to blend with the fad, the fact that the church is under tremendous assault from the devil shouldn't make you commit blasphemy. No one is forcing you to pay tithe so pay or not just keep your mouth from speaking guile.

since people have been paying tithe, did they get richer? which one make you richer, saving your money or giving it out to a God that doesn't exist?

This is not a case of 'I'm better than others ".
But just you know that not all churches are in this business of fleecing others.
Apostolic Faith Church with headquarters at Anthony Village doesn't pass collection plates, in fact, hasn't done so for more than 100years.
There is an offering box at the back where people go, at their convenience, to drop their contributions to the church or even gifts for members to ensure anonymity. Nobody knows or keeps a record of who is paying what.

The church organizes evangelism to schools, visits to the blind centres, hospitals and prisons. Gifts of food, clothing and financial support are taken to these places every week.
Apostolic Faith preaches old-fashioned Christian integrity messages and the need to live a transparent Christian life to make heaven.
I know such churches are not very popular because they don't have flamboyant leaders but servant volunteers who, instead of receiving from the flock, are making their tents, (yes many of the pastors are volunteers not on salaries) and supporting others.
As I said, this is just for information and to spare us from making generalizations
