That is a Strawman argument. I never said so.

If you know your Bible, you will realize that the whole point of Christianity is to abandon the world for a reward in heaven. A pastor who has a jet, a dozen cars, fine houses, nearly unlimited funds , political and social influence does not need and cannot lead you to Jesus. Jesus came to lead you away from those sort of people

My friend, nobody who has five private jets can claim to be a follower of Christ. If you think so, you need a road-to-damascus revelation.

My brother, part of the reason Jesus came for us is so that we will be rich and wealthy. Jesus while on earth was extremely rich, he had a Treasurer. His cloth was so expensive, soldiers had to gamble on who to take the club home.

And the Bible does not teach to abandon this world and go for a reward in heaven. in fact, Jesus said Go ye into the world and preach the life of God. As Christians we are not aiming for heaven, we are in heaven already. The eternal life is now. As He is in heaven, so are we on earth.

my brother.......

"only a fool doubt proofs"

leave the fool alone to be calculating the wealth of the Bishop while the Bishop's congregation begin to fly high in the sky.

Just as that fool doubted when prophet prophesied that food would the surplus within the next 24hrs, that fool in the Bible died before receiving or getting to eat his own food.

Bishop Oyedepo says and I quote "A time is coming when the winners family will begin to fly in the sky" that is, we are moving from the level of vehicles to the level of jets and plane as a congregation.....

my prayer is that Okoyeeboz doesn't end up like that fool in the Bible......

Is that all? Oyedepo says this, Papa says that.

Deluded mediocre quoting a man instead of the Bible. I don't blame most of you, you're biblical blockheads who stand for nothing but fall for anything.

Oyedepo has positioned his son as head of his church business in the UK, his wife deputises for him here, his son in law is his PA. Don't go and plan your life, keep waiting for surplus food.

Hungry hypocrites everywhere.

Let me quickly explain the concept of tithing to you and what churches preach.

1. Tithe didn't come with the law. Abraham Was The first tither in scriptures.
2. He was already blessed before he gave tithes and he had access to more blessings after tithe.
3. Abraham gave 10% knowing fully well that the remaining 90% belongs to God, why he was able to sacrifice Isaac.
4. Tithe became a law to the Israelites to give 10% of their proceeds to the Levi (who were the priests) cos the levites were not to work. So the Tithe was their wage.
5. If you didn't pay the tithe as an Israelite, God was angry with you and punished you.
6. The new covenant came, Grace took over law. So the tithing concept under the law is gone.
7. The tithing idea of Abraham is what is being encourages by our pastors today.
8. Abraham was not forced to pay tithe, tithe payment is not by force.
9. Abraham was blesses before he laid tithe, we are blessed with all spiritual blessings already (even of we don't pay tithe).
10. Nobody told Abraham to pay 10%, so he could have paid 20%. Pastors today think it is reasonable to give 10% to God (Apostle Suleman already increased his to 30%)
11. Under the new covenant, our given is based on our love for God and our understanding of giving. You can decide to give God your whole salary for a year.
12. Our pastor says just like Abraham paid 10%, it is reasonable for us to have a 10% set aside from our income to give to God.
13. When you tithe, there are blessings attached. If you don't tithe, you are not cursed.
14. In all, God owns all your 100%.

I will disagree based on he scriptures clearly describing a nontither as cursed.

Malachi 3:7-10
7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it

If you like argue with the bible and justify yourself and deceive yourself that tithing is not important. If you like claim its pastors idea, we clearly see it..saith the Lord of host.. Its your choice to tithe or not but the truth is constant come rain or sunshine. So dont confuse anybody.

You are confused..Tithing is not under the law it was in existence before the law.. So your analogy is false

Oga, shut up your mouth. The fact that you are a descendant of paupers doesn't mean others share your unfortunate history.

Oxford University Press and Harper Collins are some of the largest publishers in the world and they don't have a single jet. How many books has he sold and how many tapes has he sold that he can afford to buy 5 jets? Does Oyedepo sell more than Sony Music? How many jets does Sony Music have?

Since he's made so much personal money from selling books and tapes, can he provide us with his tax returns? If he didn't declare those in his tax documents, are you aware he is a criminal?

I don't have a problem with your paying tithes to whoever or defending Mr Oyedepo but don't insult our sensibilities and tell unintelligent lies like an epileptic drunkard just waking up from sleep.

Tithing existed before the law As Abraham tithed, Jacob tithed.. it was practiced during the time of the law as commanded by God.. so dont confuse anybody.
Jesus didnt come to abolish the law like he stated but to fulfill the law and after the law in Heb 7:8 it stated clearly that And here men(God ordained servants of God) that die receive tithes; but there he( the resurrected Jesus Christ) receiveth them(your tithe you pay in church), of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

Jesus Speaking in Matt 23:23(NLT)
What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law--justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things

So tithing is still recognised by heaven even after the law no nonsense daddy freeze or the online naysayer can confuse the truth.

Am i supposed to be so naive to believe Atheist and Muslims are trying to sanitize the church of God.

As i would always say the debate between the Serpent And Eve accurately describes what is happening to the church today. They are talking as if they have us at heart or are in love with us so much that they don't want us cheated but their will is that our churches must crumble-what better way for it to crumble than for it to be defunded. but just like Eve many are carried away without really knowing the motivation behind those who are arguing against the church. If Eve was aware of the Devil's will for her offsprings and humanity she would have run without her legs touching the ground but unfortunately she debated and ended up trading the lives of billions of her offsprings that would walk the earth. She thought she was only being ENLIGHTENED.

As i have said i would rather run the risk of being defrauded than my church crumbling. The TREASURE of a MAN lies where his HEART his-Jesus Christ.

Is that what their bible teaches? Almost like blind followers

If you lived in the days of Jesus, you have called him a fraudster for collecting the very last a poor Widow gave as an offering. You'd carried out for Jesus to be stoned. Why won't he give to that woman instead accepting what she gave?

If you lived in the days of Prophet Elijah, you'd have called him unprintable names for even considered asking a poor widow to bring to him the last food she and her son had to eat and then wait for death. as a result of the famine. Where is the humanity? Why not have a heart and care for a widow?

A man of God who shd give to the poor, taking from the poor? Elijah would ve been called a thief by your kind.

14. In all, God owns all your 100%.
u tried in ur analysis but truth is Abram didn't give because he had the intention to multiply it or was afraid of any curse. He gave 10% of what wasn't his and the remaining 90% to the king of Sodom. When Abram gage tithe there was no law guiding Israel on ttthing. Ur pastors of these days want u to pay tithe quoting Malachi with plenty threats and because freeze has burst their scam they now say we should pay it the way Abram did. Did anyone preach to Abram to give tithe? They (pastors) should also allow the people give freewill offering in whateva % they feel as long as it's from the heart. Most Pastors of these days are thieves. That's y the "uncalled" ones use charms and satanic powers to bewitch their followers. Abeg I understand ur concept of the whole stuff and u r mostly correct until I said pastors want us to pay the way Abram paid. That is my only objection. Abram paid the way Jesus would have paid "that's if He ever paid". Willingly. Any payment done outside willingness is fraud. Simple.
