why would i? Where u banned by an mod or d spambot? U can always ask others who av been banned in d past. D mods in religious section aren't usually active, most times i av issues i mail mods from politics section..

I remember that we were together on the other handle. When I just started. I have been on Nairaland for some time but not as a regular as I am lately. I only read updates about the situation in town and a few comments and pass. Someone made an incongruous comment about the JW and that was when I decide to correct that. So, I created a handle and I did that.

It is just crazy how people sell stories. I have read a lot on Nairaland but you have to ignore some. Some are ignorant of what they say while some are vicious. A Filipino I met recently told me that in the Phillippines Jehovah's Witnesses do not trim their hair. That they let it grow so long. That is all he remembered about the JW. Though they have knocked at his door several times and approached him. When I pulled out my gadget and showed him pictures of JW in the Philippines and asked him if the length of hair was familiar to what he was referring to, he chagrined. So, I told him that I am a JW and keeping long hair is not part of our doctrine but a personal choice.

Some here believe that we do not pray or believe in Jesus. Many bigoted views that are created with an incentive to smear.

JW do not force their doctrines down anyone's throat. You do not expect a JW to be still and suck in whatever he is told.
Superiority complex can actually make someone develop a negative feeling toward others when he discovers that he cannot convincingly drag them under his feet. Complex actually affects weak minds when they meet tougher or genuine minds and this result in attempts to engage in defamation of others because a weak mind doesn't want to sink in shame. Let us try to be objective and make comments that drive issues and not pointed at any organisation.
When you walked into this forum, you did not come to meet like minds. You come knowing that there are different beliefs and different doctrines. So, when you meet one you should either embrace it or forsake it.

JW enjoy sharing the message from the Bible and not to be suppressive to anyone. We respect everyone's religion and we endeavour to iron our beliefs and customs that are contrary to the Bible's message.

As Christians, we must know where to draw the line and find a common ground with everyone. The idea of smearing people who hold on to their beliefs is vile.

Generally, JW do not respond to criticism or pay attention to Trolls. We have a very important task of preaching the life-saving message in the Bible. It will be a waste of time responding to Trolls jibes when sincere-hearted ones are beckoning for the truth that leads to everlasting life.

Jesus has told us that revilers and opposition will abound in the course of our service to him. It is not an easy task to stand out. Look at how they slaughtered Jesus in cold blood and also the apostles. The blasphemers knew in their hearts that they were lying. They were not in control. They were lost and sold to the father of all lies. That man made a blasphemous comment against us, he was proven wrong but he did not have the balls to apologise even when I demanded it repeatedly. Is such a person of God?

When people come up against you, there is an attraction in you that either threatens them or they are desirous of but they cannot have it. JW ignore spiteful grudges and keep moving. We do not profit by engaging in empty debates and cantankerous squabble that end up in violence or aggression. As you claim, you have known some JW and I will want to believe that they do not squabble over details with you. When it gets intense or heated, we just make a pass and let people be. Jesus did not ask us to force our doctrine down people's throats. We tell you and we are always polite with it. If you refuse to listen, we keep moving. There is no obligation to force people to like us or to accept our teachings.

We do not go attacking people like that. We can easily tell you that we do not believe or accept something but we cannot judge anyone because we do not have that power. People feel that we are vulnerable to attack and that is why they throw the punches. They cannot mess around with other religions or churches. I have seen grown men fighting over Oyakhilome's divorce and over Oyedepo's private jets. JW do not get reeled into such mess. We might not agree with opinions but what is the reason for being disrespectful?

That man is irrational and irreverent. You can tell where he is coming from. When someone is bigoted and depressed there is always someone to blame. He found the JW and we do not let that bother us. Our brothers are being killed and persecuted in many countries. They face physical abuse and imprisonment. Do you know how many JW are imprisoned just for being JW? So, why should I pay any attention to a demented reviler?

You have a choice to take his words. I am not influencing that. We do not care about whatever he puts out. It does not stop us from doing the same thing that we do. He is not original. Everything he puts out has already been posted online publicly by thousands of bloggers. A copycat doesn't impress me.

yep, the first thing i do is tell about the salvation story and how tye penalty for sin has been paid by Jesus on the cross and how one can receive salvation from sin by believing in Jesus amd accepting his lordship. Simply and short. Those who receive the word readily will be led to pray tye prayer for salvation. Den we move over to more individuals... Though names of those who got saved are written down and visitation plans will be made in order to teach dem d basics of growing in Christ such as having times for personal devotion etc. I never mention the name of any denomination cos i know the truth is not relative.. Dey can decide on wcheva denomination dey wanna go but i make sure there is concrete visitation plan so as to teach dem the word of God and how to study the word personally for themselves. The most important thing is knowing God personally. The problem with denominationalism is dat it limits you to a certain area. I av seen cases where job or schooling takes ppl away from their comfort zones and where dey find demselves, the denomination dey r familiar with doesn't exit.
My motto is "you shall know the truth (not denomination) and the truth shall set you free"

wat i say to those who claim Jesus abolished Tithing is dat dey should show me anywhere in thr Bible where Jesus did dat.. The only place Jesus mentioned the word tithe wch is matt 23:23, he supported it.. He only asked dat the weightier matters (justice and mercy) should be more emphasized.. As a Christian the bible is the highest authority on teachings and doctrine not logic or human wisdom , the aim of this thread is to present from biblical view if Jesus was God, I have presented my submittion with adequate bible verses to support it. I expected you to check your bible and to either debunk or agree with my submission.

Let me recap your doctrines and I am never wrong
1. You believe that Armageddon is coming and the only way you can survive is by joining watchtower organization in other words, becoming a Jehovah's witness. That is the only route for salvation is by association with the watchtower organization.
2. Before your new system (paradise earth) comes, first, your Jehovah will come destroy ( slaughter, murder, mass genocide) all non jws ( wicked, worldly, unrighteous people).
3. In the new system vultures will eat 8 billion corpses and thereafter 8 million jws will inherit the earth.
4. Blood transfusion ban started in 1945
5. Holiday ban started in 1926
6. Blood fraction use began in 1998
7. Donating blood for any purpose is a sin while you can use blood fractions gotten from blood donated by wordly/wicked/unrighteous people
8. You shun members who leave your religion
9. You teach that the only way unrighteous riches can be made righteous is by donating it to your organization
10. Your religion once thought that vaccination and organ transplant was cannibalism and it was a disfellowshiping offence hence they will be shunned
11. You preach that 7 old men in New who termed themselves faithful and discreet slave are the only channel of communication between God and man today because these men said they are
12. Your leaders say Jesus came invisibly in 1914 and chose only your organization to lead his followers on earth
13. Your leaders teach that Independent thinking is a crime so you believe it.

Why are you people ashamed of talking about your doctrines? because you know people will not agree. so it's important that you lie to them first.
The only issue we have is the "consuming blood" apart from that nothing else.

Abraham didn't tithe to a Levite, in fact the book of Hebrew has it on record dat levi tithed in Abraham to melchizedek... Melchizedek was the King and Highpriest of Salem(or Jerusalem). Jesus is our own melchizedek. He is the King and High priest of our salvation...wen i tithe today, i tithe to Jesus.

I hope u won't find it offensive if i ask my questions about jw too.

No, why will it get offensive if it is just a question? I am over the KJV mood LOL. It got a little intense and I learned the conversation pattern here on Nairaland. The insults and the competition and the name calling etc I am not here for that actually. I am not an experienced contributor. I only used to make a pass. So, bring your questions forward.

Do not think that I am here to throw jibes at you. It is indeed not of our business if you pay or receive tithe. We cannot influence that belief or practice in your religion. As JW, we do not tithe hence we do not accept or agree with the doctrine of tithing. It is against the law of Christ and that practice has no place in our organisation, and what we believe is that Christians do not tithe. We base our doctrine on the words in the Bible. In turn, we make a generous or cheerful contribution.

Melchizedek was a priest. Salem, you are right.

How do you tithe to Jesus?

i tithe to Jesus by paying 10% of my income to His church. He is the Head of the Church. Wen i give to the Church i am giving to him.( Same as if u give ur tribute to d roman government, u were actually giving to Caesar)..
