Haba Sir Danycrusoe. It's me naa. I think you've explained the meaning of your name to me before in times past. wink

I was just teasing you as usual. cheesy Robinson Crusoe, Lovely book. One of Daniel Defoe's best works.

And yeah, teams on the women's soccer scene in Africa are seriously not dulling. I recall back then when a team like DR Congo made it to a women's age grade world cup at U-20 level I think couple of years ago.
Your fear is with good reason but I just feel Bala Nikyu being one with enough experience and exposure will correct the mistakes and profligacy of our girls. Those girls can actually ball but goals conversion is their problem.

Cameroun had it so easy against a weak and physically inferior Algerian team. I don't them beating Nigeria even with their goals-laden show against Algeria (7-0 and 4-0 in the two legs).

Djibouti will fall to Ghana. They got a walkover even into the last round. South Africa should also beat Morocco but yeah Botswana gave them quite a scare but it was 11-6 in the end on aggregate (5-2 and 6-4). Botswana is really building a foundation for the women's game going by an article I came across one time on women's football in southern africa on a women's soccer site I think.

Danycrusoe:

Robinson Crusoe x the novel that inspired my username, and the fact that it was written by my namesake Daniel Defoe... that's by the way.

I hope after wat the u17 n u20 last year the female teams won't follow suit this year, seriously our female teams av not been this poor or maybe others are just catching up and we r getting exposed that we aren't as good as we tot.

Djibouti could be at the u17 women's world cup if they could navigate Ghana, that's a testament of the improvement of others. Burundi almost shocked SA at the u20 level too

Chief Coach and handler of the CHAN bound Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf already has 21 names listed for the 2018 African Nations Championship and there are only two spots left to be filled according to Team media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye.
The Eagles Coach is fixing up all the loose ends in the team – pushing the players in a test of stamina, Speed, ball passing and more in camp.
Ibitoye made this known to Brila FM on Saturday afternoon monitored by AOIFootball.com that the Coach has used the three practice matches played so far in Abuja to improve some aspects of the team.
‘The Coach told me that he already has a good idea of the players that will be in the plane to Morocco.
‘There are two spots left he hinted but surely the decision must have been tough because you can see how determined and incredible the players have been these past weeks in camp.
‘We have played practice matches and Today they won against Capital City by 4-1.
‘That game obviously has given him insights into areas of strength and also weakness that the team can improve on.’
30 players are still in the Abuja camp of the CHAN Eagles and Yusuf is expected to name his final 23-man list on 2 January or the mandatory date of January 3rd.

Ndidi starts again!

Iheanacho is on the bench while Musa is out completely..

Meanwhile, Leicester have completed the signing of Adrien Silva from Sporting Lisbon.. He is expected to provide support (or competition for Ndidi in midfield)

Good to start A New Year with Return Of TheSuperNerd...

Now we have a full team to do the needful to Croatia, Iceland and Argentina...
PAPI Rohr has no choice than to name you to be part of 23 man list of super eagles...
What is your preferred role? Wing back or striker?

Good to have you back... Immediately I saw your moniker just kept smiling and smiling until my food got cold... But I will eat it like that...

Happy New Year brother from another mother...
Miss you bro!

Ehen... Oga Daniel. Happy new year to you too Sir. Sorry I forgot your moniker. I forgot so many.

Ndidi must start naa. Took only a red card on his birthday to allow him rest small sef. lol I keep saying it on this thread. He will be world class within two more years or latest three.

Iheanacho finally returns to the bench. Well, thanks for that. Really don't know which is worse. Being left out by Puel or being left out by Pep. All the same shaa, Nacho still oozes quality when on the field of play despite little or no playing time. But I am not happy with his situation. Dude needs playing time. Plenty of it and honestly I would have preferred he stayed back at Man City learning more from pep and getting a few games than being left out in the cold at Leicester under Puel.

The change of coaches at Leicester really did nacho in here. Wish him a better 2018 though. No EPL goal in 2017 because of very little chances and also injury. Really not one to remember. But he still finished as The Super Eagles' top scorer for the second year in a row... wink That says a little something about his quality.

Adrien Silva won't displace Ndidi oooo. Ndidi is the Kante of that team. Adrien competes with Iborra and Matty. Ofcos Puel may sometimes choose Adrien Silva and Iborra together but Ndidi is workaholic and Puel's words after Ndidi's first red card sums it up.

"Unfair and harsh to lose a workaholic player like Ndidi putting us a man down."

Puel just cannot do without Ndidi.

Having topnotch passing ability in the Portuguese league does not mean retaining it in the EPL. The fast pace of the EPL makes many a player struggle to replicate their precious abilities in other leagues there.

Also, if that's all he has to offer, then he might want to consider upgrading himself in other aspects of the game, e.g. tackling, interception, clearances etc. Ndidi is leading (or one of those leading) the league in one or two of these.

I see what you mean though, there should be no complacency for Ndidi. Work on your weaknesses, improve on your strengths.

No mind me jare it's been a while we exchanged discussions.

True that Djibouti got a walkover Tunisia, but if I were their coach I'll fancy their chances of being at the world cup, Ghana could v an off day in one of the ties and if it were to be when Djibouti are at home if they take their chances and then go away to Accra and defend, they would just be the latest team to debut at a Fifa world cup, impossible is nothing.

Botswana impressed in those ties, losing 2-5 at home to SA isn't really a failure in the women's game in Africa so far u r not Nigeria, Ghana and Cameroon. u can add equitorial guinea. then scoring 4 away from home is a loss that sure smells like a victory, they should continue to improve

SA has been close in African women's football, they r a power house and its only a matter of time they get their breakthrough just like Cameroon did recently.

we should use Ghana and learn, they have lost their hold on the women's game, they v been inconsistent lately and Nigeria is looking shaky in recent times our talents are not looking enough to see us tru.

It wasn't DR Congo, it was Zambia, Gambia, SA and Cameroon who have participated in one u17 women's world cup each in the last 4 editions since FIFA gave Africa 3 slots in 2010. But I don't know y they didn't make 3 slots for the u20

I tire for NFF, I wish we had won that u20 women's world cup in Canada 2014 and more impressive than we did at the main world cup in 2015, maybe just maybe the NFF would v started taking the female teams seriously.

But Pinnick is acting timidly towards them even the male age grade teams, his only concern is SE, I want believe Sheu Dikko is the drive behind the u13 and u15 outings we v seen recently

True talk. But for DR Congo I meant at U-20 level not U-17 level. I recall in 2008 they made it to the U-20 World cup with Nigeria.

On Three slots for Africa's U-20 teams, well, we hope some day it would happen based on Nigeria's recent performances at the competition which have been good. For now it is still two.

At U-17 level, Ghana holds Africa's best performance of bronze and they were initially two slots before it became three too.
