Maybe you still think name win games in NPFL. if Plateau United could win the league last season and a league winner could go on relegation a season after, then what exactly makes any club superior over the rest. we have like 2-3 above average clubs in the league but the rest are almost at par! (FACT)!

In the past ten years the league trophy has been shared between Enyimba, Kano pillars, Dolphin stars now merged with Sharks united and renamed Rivers United and these are some of the top teams in the league. The only mid table clubs that has won it in the last 10yrs are Bayelsa who pumped huge resources and soon after went to relegation and Plateau United with an excellent manager in Kennedy Boboye.

last season I saw ifeanyi ubah come from behind to beat 3sc at home with 2 late penalties and both of the were legitimate ones in fact they should v scored if not 4 the gk brilliancy. the reason we complain about it x because we don't see the games on TV if we do many of our wrong perceptions will change.

in fact most away teams use it as an excuse to becloud their poor performances and ring up controversies that how some away fans (rangers) said the ref had a phone on the field of play and he received a call to favour the home team because Gombe scored 3 times to come from a 2-0 deficit to leaf 3-2 until rangers equalised with a last gasp free kick.

when the highlights were uploaded all the 3 goals the home team scored was legitimate and I don't there was a single pk in it. it was later discovered that rangers fans only made up the rumours and this was confirmed by journalists who saw the game live.

These clubs you mentioned, most of them are just names. currently, only few of them can boast of outstanding players because they are so quick with selling their best.

names don't win matches, players and tactics do. in our league, its been ages since one club get to win the league back to back. for the past 5 years, we have had different winners because players move almost every season. except for Kano pillars who are good at keeping their best, no other club in the last 5 years can boast of having 80% of their first 11 for 2 seasons.

You can't win home and away if you can't even keep your best!

Definitely he and his agent must look for a way out,be on the bench before WC would be bad cos i remember Mikel performance at 2014 WC which was due to limited games with Chelsea in 2013/14 season.

If it is about performance he has done better than Iheanacho by far this season though he has no goals to his credit but his MOTM and his inclusion in the la liga team of the week speaks for him.

When I saw his expression in his club's last match, it was glaring he was not happy with his team mates. I understand because in most of the matches he played he would have scored if his team mates plays along with him but they would rather balloon the ball to the crowd than pass to him eventhough he was the one that worked the chances.

You probably will not be suprised but I have some friends who, catch a flight Friday night from Lagos get into London in the morning watch Arsenal and fly back that night back to Lagos.

Sometimes they will fly into Manchester from London to watch Arsenal at away matches.

There is something truly perverse in that they probably do not know all the names of the local teams and will struggle to mention the names of up to 10 local league players.

Until we value our local league, appreciate and patronise it, this trend will not stop.

And for those who think I only watch all things English I went to watch Etebo when he was at Warri Wolves. And not on TV I sat in the Sun in Warri Township stadium. I didn't have s steak pie after the match but roasted bole.

I think we will get better results when we start running our local sides like a proper business outfit, structure them effectively with departments and staffs with a mandate to perform.
Its sad we unemployment is a major headache for the nation when avenues to create jobs for people abound from the football leagues.By my estimation a football club if properly structured and funded will require close to 70 staffs both main/adhoc to function effectively, now imagine 20 clubs doing so too.

I think these people are unknowingly supply our coach Rohr vital hints, facts and areas to pragmatically look into and work on. I just hope Rohr is taking the disguising advantages that come with the series of negative statement being channelled to his team and other African teams. It will go a long way for him.

if ppl do half of wat ur friends do to our local league I bet many things will change. u know how much a return ticket to UK is that alone can get u all the tickets fo all home games for up to 5 npfl clubs ides. but Nigerians love building somebody else's country.

A basic ticket for an EPL game can be upwards of £50 easily and if you don't have a season ticket and get one of the allocated tickets for away supporters you cam buy a ticket on down low for £300.

There is a notion which I find perverse which says all things foreign is better. So we then run down our universities, hospitals and other services. Then the privileged then send thier children to very expensive in my opinion over priced universities in the UK and other places in addition the privileged few go for medical check ups in the top hospitals across the globe.

This problem is what characterises our local football league shamelessly abandoned for foreign alternatives.

Here's the thing:based on our current style of play Martins will easily fit in. If we play Onuachu he might be rendered ineffective if as someone pointed out nine of his goals have come from the air. We don't have good crossers of the ball.

On the other hand you say he brings something different and that's quite true. What that means is that we have to add crossing to our play.

But I don't know if Onuachu is in contention but then no one knows what can happen
