I don't remember being asked, but I'm certain what I filled as the reason for initial denial may have counted.

I used the same data from the first form and reiterated all the ties I had - financial, familial etc

I also mentioned travel history breaking it down by cities visited e.g Southern african tour in 2013 saw me visiting - Joburg, Capetown in South Africa, Maputo in Mozambique and Maseru in Lesotho.

Finally I asked them to verify my details for work by checking my LinkedIn profile ( gave them my name as it appeared) as I really was going to US as it had 3 of my travel bucket list cities.

This was me being super honest and I like to believe it made all the difference.

Re apply after a little while, build more ties ..and try going for ur interview alone.. Ur sister been a u s green card holde doesn't qualify u for a visa..so try and re apply ..bring up good travelling reasons. Going for ur nephew's baptism is absolutely off point.. Its noting important to attend by you wen his parents are there..u can simply put up a form to visit them maybe for a vacation and just be sincere with your application .

U.s visa is not a do or die affair..

If it doesn't click, i pray it does tho..

Just calm..travel to other countries.. Have fun..then later u cn reapply when ur situation changes..thank you

You have no problem.. Reach out for the u.s travel services website and fill a ds160 form for yourself and ur family ..pay ur visa fee and schedule an appointment. Go for the interview with all members of the family and with ur ds160 form printout, visa fee receipt, passport for everyone travelling, two passport photographs for each individual and with ur sincere mind..those are the major things needed..but u cannot be over prepared so u cn as well go with supporting documents like ur statement of account and some informations about ur friend in u.s

Be honest and comport yourself at the interview.. #BeConfident ���

I have never traveled outside the shores of the country so I don't have any experience whatsoever.

I've got a lady friend in Kentucky who has offered to send an invite / convince an employer to send a letter of employment. The company is in Oklahoma but she doesn't live there so I'd have to sort my accommodation issue if I apply based on the employment proposal.

My questions are.....

Unfortunately much of the advice you received was wrong. People should not offer advice if they are not very sure...

1. You cannot, by yourself, apply for a visa to go and work in the US. The company wishing to employ you needs to file an H1B work visa for you. Only after this has been approved and you have a hard copy of the I-797B can you then apply for an H1B visa to the US. Note, the H1B visa is strictly a non-immigrant visa. Albeit, it is considered to be dual-purpose so your company can then file for permanent residency for you once you are now in the US. This is a lengthy and expensive process that requires more than just an invitation letter.

2. I notice in one of your responses that you indicate that the job offer is not specialized... if that is the case, the H1B application is more than likely going to be denied, as it is only required for specialized skills.

Bottom-line, you have next to zero chance of getting an H1B visa, find other means to go to the US.

Well regarding your issue..its an immigrant visa u are to aplly for (employment visa) this is a non immigrant visa thred but I will give u a little clue..first,to get a registered company to send u an invite is not so easy..and finally when u get..and u try to process ur visa..it would be so hard to convince the v.o the position u r going to occupy cannot be occupied by a u.s citizen or a lpr ..they believe there are still employment individuals in u.s. only if u have extra ordinary talents or u have a very good qualification like u studied medicine.. Nursing ..and co . all the same I wish u best of luck.. Get ur priorities right. Try as much to get the employers letter and file for an employment visa.Good luck.. Success is urs

Your options are limited to going to school and applying for an F1 visa, or get married. But expect a lot of scrutiny when you apply for a green card.

There is no argument... B, F, H, J visas are all non-immigrant visas. Period.
