This man always on point.. says things as it is..

tbaba1234:

I beg to differ.. Kelechi had a brilliant second half against Argentina, he looked full of confidence after the goal. Apart for the Algerian games, Kelechi's record for Nigeria speaks for itself.

Iwobi seems to have come into his own for Nigeria. He has a few bad games at the beginning of the qualifiers but was really good in the last few games.

I remember back in those days in boarding house. Some parents will bring their kids to the school and tell the principal to discipline their children really well.. that they are stubborn.

This one papa will say, "This my boy Ike, he is very stubborn at home, I want you to deal with him if he acts up. deal with him for me"
The Super Eagles is Iwobi's home. Arsenal is his school. Wenger, pls discipline him very well for us... So he will come out even better for us.

£30,000-a-week Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi is caught on video at 3am party hours before his side crashed out of FA Cup in shock defeat

Clip shows 21-year-old Nigerian international dancing and screaming at 2.37am
Next day he started in a pivotal role for Arsenal as they slumped to shock defeat
Sources report laughing gas canisters and smell of cannabis coming from party
No suggestion Iwobi took drugs, but fans slammed his performance as rubbish

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has come under fire after a video of him emerged at a supposedly drug-fuelled party the day before the London side's shock FA Cup exit.
The clip shows the 21-year-old Nigerian international, who is on a reported £30,000-a-week at the Emirates, dancing and screaming at 2.37am on Saturday at a flat in Soho.

And the next day he started in the pivotal number 10 role for the Gunners as they flopped to a 4-2 third round defeat to Championship team Nottingham Forest.
Fans have now called for his head, saying he doesn't deserve to be at the North London club.
Although there is no suggestion Iwobi was taking drugs, tenants in neighbouring flats reported laughing gas canisters and a strong smell of cannabis coming from the party apartment, according to The Sun.

The Snapchat video showed the footballer in the centre of the shot with the caption, 'Shouldn't Iwobi be sleeping?'.

Iwobi's social media habits have been a bugbear for many Arsenal fans, with many slating him for spending too much time on his phone posting pictures and videos of himself at Nando's, his luxurious lifestyle and previously with his ex Clarisse Juliette (pictured) before they split last year
A source told the paper the group had been refused entry to a club, so rented an AirBnB flat in Soho.
The partying kept residents awake for hours, and it is thought the antics went on for at least another hour.
Arsenal fans were furious with Iwobi's performance, describing him as 'rubbish' and saying he would be better suited to Championship level with Nottingham Forest.
And the emergence of the video has done nothing to stem the flow of the criticism.
Supporters were last night calling for Arsene Wenger to suspend the star over his antics.
One fan said on Twitter: 'Arsenal should suspend Alex Iwobi for his actions on Saturday night and Sunday morning, knowing he was a "senior player" on the Sunday against Forest.
'Sheer stupidity and naivety from him.
'Explains his poor performance too.'
Another said: 'Doesn't deserve to start now don't deserve to be at this club.
'We want him sold or contract ripped up and thrown away.'
One fan threw down an ultimatum to the Arsenal attacker, saying: 'Sacrifice now and become something or be forgotten as a nobody. Your choice.'
But not all fans took to social media to slate him.
Many fans stood up for Iwobi with one even suggesting the late night boosted his performance levels.
A fan said: 'Not really bothered he was out, if anything he played a bit better than usual got got an assist.'
A spokesman from the club refused to comment on the matter, but a source told The Sun the Nigerian's late night could have had an impact on his showing in the cup tie.
This time last year, Iwobi was pictured at a Rae Sremmurd gig with model Clarisse Juliette at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.
They split months later having spent three and a half years as a couple, it was claimed.
Juliette was quickly becoming one of the more famous WAGs at Arsenal and posted a picture of the pair on her Instagram account showing Iwobi giving her an adoring gaze.
Her Instagram feed is now almost exclusively pictures of her by herself, mirroring her ex-boyfriend's.

Remember the name - Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson bows out of the Carabao cup after giving Manchester City led by Pep Guardiola a tough game. A game which took Manchester City until injury time to secure their place in the final at Wembley. Even though Lee Johnson's Bristol City side bows out of the competition, their memorable display will remain in the minds of their fans. I hope they get promoted to the EPL.

Lee Johnson's men knocked out four Premier League sides on their way to the Semi final against Manchester City, knocking out Watford, Stoke, Crystal Palace and United.

If only Bristol can beat City without conceding... 1-0 will be enough... Buuuuttttt Man City is a goals scoring machine. Hard seeing past a Man City ticket to the final but hey! Never say never. Bristol is good and looks like a team that suits Nacho's style of play too.... Anyway, on Nacho, time will tell.

Just coming online now... Seriously I have been thinking about our players signing assurance of playing time like 70percent

I could remember when Cardiff played in FA With portmount if am right.. Arsenal signed Ramsey from Cardiff with assurance of 70per cent playing time.

I dunno why our players cant sign that... Is it too much to sign instead of sitting comfortable in bench..

Why Nigeria will not win the African Nations Championship by Colin Udoh, KweséESPN

Nigeria's Super Eagles arrived in Rabat, Morocco on Tuesday, a week ahead of the African Nations Championship kickoff.

Prior to their departure, coach Salisu Yusuf assured Nigerians that his wards were determined to bring the trophy home, with goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye one of several players who shared the coach's optimism.

As commendable as this show of confidence is, it will not be the first time the Super Eagles have blown their own trumpet ahead of one of Africa's major tournaments.

Chigozie Agbim was equally boastful ahead of the 2014 tournament in South Africa, and just before the last tournament, Nduka Ugbade bragged that the Super Eagles would return as champions.
On both occasions, the team came back home without the trophy.

As they head into the competition this weekend, Nigeria fans ought to keep their predictions and expectations modest, due to these three reasons which should prevent the Eagles from winning the tournament.

Lack of Pedigree

There have been four previous CHAN tournaments, beginning with the inaugural edition in 2009, and Nigeria haven't shone in any...in fact, their performance at Africa's competition for home-based players has been distinctly underwhelming.

The Eagles failed to qualify for the first two, losing the 2009 qualifying playoff to Ghana and then the 2011 playoff to Niger.
When they did qualify for the first time in 2014, Stephen Keshi's team finished third with a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe in the bronze medal match, but their run wasn't as inspiring as expected.

Finishing second behind Mali in the group phase, they beat Morocco 4-3 in a thrilling quarter-final game before falling on penalties to Ghana in the semi.

In 2016, they failed to make it out of the group stage, finishing a point behind both Tunisia and Guinea.

Their elimination was even more distressing because they only needed a point in their final group game against the Syli Nationale in order to advance, but lost the game 1-0.
Despite the chest-thumping, and Nigeria's standing in African football, this lack of pedigree at this level will be tough to overcome.

On the bright side for the Super Eagles, only one former champion qualified for this year's tournament -- 2014 champions Libya -- but guess who they've been drawn against?
Yes, Nigeria.
Then there are three-time participants and hosts Morocco, Cote d'Ivoire and Guinea, who finished third and fourth respectively in 2016.

The field is not impossible to overcome, but Nigeria's lack of pedigree could hurt them.

Rusty Players

Nigeria's domestic league wrapped up in early September, and since then, players have been on break. This includes members of the Super Eagles CHAN squad, who have seen no league action for four months.

This is contrast to many of their title rivals whose domestic competitions have been in full swing during the months leading up to the tournament.

Training and friendly matches are no substitute for competitive, high octane matches with an edge, and it's this competitive edge that the Eagles could lack when their campaign begins against Rwanda.
A slow start will be no surprise, but could prove expensive, as their second game would be against Equatorial Guinea, fielding almost the same squad that took part in recent A qualifying games, before a final showdown with former champions Libya.

Poor Preparation

For a team with players lacking in competitive football, better preparation should have been expected, but that has hardly been the case with Nigeria, particularly with some of the players having their eye on a European transfer during the offseason.

For what it's worth, they did take part in the WAFU tournament last year, but there, their lack of regular action was an exploited hindrance during the early stages, and then brutally exposed by Ghana in the final.

Playing against even rustier opposition in the NPFL pre-season tournament, they came out winners, but considering the level of league football and friendly internationals being played by their potential title rivals, it does look a difficult road ahead.

It is entirely possible that the Nigerian team, with their strong character and never-say-die attitude, can overcome these challenges and go on to lift their maiden title, but the odds appear firmly stacked against Yusuf's side.

I don't think a lot of people have high hopes for the tournament, many don't even know it is taking place.

I do agree that the fact that it will be counted like any game played by the actual team is a downside really.

And while I would have preferred we don't even qualify at all for CHAN, it will be unfair to some of these players who can only get opportunities when they play the tournament
